I am absolutely appalled by the way this Panera Bread is being managed. The manager, Michael, creates an incredibly hostile and disrespectful work environment. No employee should have to come to work wondering if they're going to be treated with disrespect by their own manager. For a company as large as Panera Bread, it's shocking that management behavior like this is allowed to continue. Corporate needs to take a serious look at the people they place in leadership positions. A manager's job is to lead, support, and encourage employees--not intimidate them or create a toxic workplace. This issue needs to be addressed immediately because no one deserves to work under a boss who makes the workplace miserable. Employees deserve respect, professionalism, and a healthy work environment. I sincerely hope Panera Bread takes complaints like this seriously and holds its managers accountable. read more

Went to Panera today and there was an employee chain smoking a vape outside right by the door and it made me cough so much. Disgusting. And then I came in the store and Roy(?) is talking to another employee and rubbing his eye with his fingers inside and outside his eye. He came to the till and asked me what I wanted but I asked him to wash his hands first. He did do so but mumbled that he doesn't work with the food anyway (so doesn't need to wash his hands after fingering his eyeball for 5 minutes?!? Dude you work at a restaurant! Wash your hands!) As much as we like the simplicity of the Bismarck airport, it is sorely lacking in food options both before and after the security checkpoint. My caesar with added chicken and bacon minus croutons was good. Very nicely loaded with protein and the salad dressing on the side let me add as much or as little as I wanted. I love this Panera! It is a great addition to the Mall area. The food usually comes out pretty quick. One thing I should note: you get better service inside than through the drive through. If you order soup through the drive through, they won't give you bread, they'll give you chips instead (who wants chips with their soup? The bread is delicious with soup). The inside can sometimes not be cleaned right away, but it gets done. This is a great place to meet people for a quick snack and cup of coffee. Lastly, there's a lot of seating, pretty spacious. I love the Papaya Green Tea! I also love the tomato soup and grilled cheese on a cold day! read more

The lady at the till was pretty rude (had no name tag) but I decided to stay positive when my buzzer went off I went to grab my food, there was more plates then I had hands and this very very kind gentleman who was actually wearing his name tag Brayden U. Helped me carry my plates out he was very friendly and actually cared about how I was doing and my visit as a whole. There was a mix up on the order and he quickly ran it back to the kitchen to get it fixed he returned the plates made correctly and gave my wife and I a free cookie from the mix up. He genuinely felt bad although it was okay. He continued to check on us and took our plates from us when we were done. This young man had terrific service and belongs in this industry. I ordered a cup of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, both of which come with one side each. So when I got my meal and only one side, I politely asked for my other side, that I paid for. The man threw a bag of chips at me man snapped at me in a nasty tone saying many sarcastic and rude things. Just had my last sandwich from this Panera Bread. Ordered my usual Italian sandwich got home opened the bag and knew something was wrong. The sandwich was rolled up like a dirty old diaper after opening it the Italian did not look like any sandwich I've EVER ordered before. The bread had holes and was hard as a rock each half of the whole sandwich consisted of 3 pepperoni slices and 1 slice of salami then the veggies. My wifes Napa almond chicken salad sandwich was just thrown together and her chicken noodle soap was mainly broth. Just moved from Florida and have eaten at many Panera Bread's this one is 2 thumbs DOWN!! ... UPDATE ... I have three reviews for this location because I was there three days in a row. First day went in ordered the green goddess with my additions...perfect! Patio is cute service is great. Next day did drive thru. Ordered the same thing, since I'm a creature of habit. Salad was not to my expectations! No big deal called the next day spoke with the manager Mike. He apologized and offered a new salad. Just picked it up and it is perfect. Moral of the story is please contact the business before you start your rants on social media. If i could give this specific restaurant zero stars i would! I've been a Panera loyal customer since 2010! When i order I'm spending at least $15.00 A DAY! That's how much i love the company! But since I've moved to bismarck they have tarnished the name. Someone is always forgetting my food out my bag. I normally check it to make sure. But my husband went on 2/21/2018 at 8:29 and did two orders. Well we didn't get our MEAL! So when i called at 9:12pm i spoke to Brooke and she told me that i can't get my sandwich that i paid for because they're closed. (That's not my fault) She asked for my address and said she would send out a coupon for a free meal. And if we come through the drive thru again to let them know what happen and we will get free pastries. That didn't help me because i had a long day and was very hungry. We waited and waited for the coupon which i wished she would've just taken our name so we could come up there and order instead. We've been calling the restaurant since 3/1/2018 no one ever answers the phone. There's no way to leave a voice message. And i don't have time go up there and resolve an this issue. Never coming here again. Visited this store between 9 & 10:30 a.m. on a Saturday when you would think a place would be jammed with the weekend coffee & brunch crowd. Almost completely empty. They want you to order on an iPad, the screen for which had a spinning circle and the message, "loading." I looked at one of the other iPads where an acquaintance of mine and his partner were ordering and watched them go through at least 10 steps. I said, hmmm, I just want a cup of coffee, so he pointed me to the cashier. I approached her and she was busy finishing with another customer and when she was done with him, she was so busy turning her station over to someone else, no one acknowledged me. When they were finished, I told the new cashier I just wanted a cup of coffee and handed her a $5 bill. "Do you have a Panera card?" I said, just take my money. I got my change and a cup, dispensed my own coffee and picked a booth where I could watch the door as I waited for the friend I was meeting to arrive. The booth was dirty, both seat and table. So I cleaned it off with a napkin. AND THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO KEEP A TIP JAR at the cashier. FOR WHAT? These people are doing little to nothing to serve the customer. My friend arrived and ordered. When she got her food--an egg & bacon wrap or burrito, about a third of it was empty-- just a dried out wrapper, which she tore off & left uneaten. read more

I was on the phone this morning as she was driving through this Panera's drive through. She order a hot Madagascar latte and a sausage egg and cheese on brioche. As she is waiting in the drive through she tells me about how they had messed her order up earlier in the week but decided to give them another chance. The. I hear the drive through attendant giving her her order. I hear my sister say I order this coffee hot and the attendant say no I didn't and y sister reiterated it again getting them to change it. Then she opens her sandwich and asks me if I had heard her sandwich order I said yes and read it back to her. So she tells the attendant that she got the wrong sandwich because she ordered sausage and not bacon. The lady starts arguing back and my sister and stops her and say that this is the second time she had her orders messed up this week and she wasn't happy and wanted a refund and didn't want the sandwich. The attendant then tells her that they were out of sausage so they subbed the bacon. The attendant then proceeds to get really upset and raises her voice at my sister and slams the drive through window. Now I will admit that sister had raised her voice some too after the attendant did. All of a sudden the manager is at the window and asks if she wanted a refund. Gives her the refund for the sandwich and when my sister asked for the attendants name so she could call in a complaint the manager got very upset and proceeded to tell her that she would give her no such information and that she would call corporate and enter the complaint herself against her employee and continues to berate my sister for speaking up about not being happy with the customers service or the orders being messed up both times she had been there that week. I personally will never go to this location again as we have had issues with my orders EVERY time I have ever gone there and after witnessing the customer service this time it solidifies that I will never go back!
