They sell some of the better tasting authentic middle eastern/uzbeki food in the area, every other place I've tried doesn't come close to this place as far as the taste goes. This place is deff top 2 when it comes to tasting authentic plov or lagman. Everything else is just as good, such as samsa and narin. They are always busy and full, which speaks to the quality of their food. The only reason I give them 3 stars is because their prices are really high and the portions on some of the dishes are way to small for the prices they charge, but I still eat here because their food tastes great. read more

I have to say the food here is good, however the service and the snotty looks from the waitresses makes the experience horrible. At least look happy to do your job. They make it look hard to get a glass of water. Please teach your waitress staff MANNERS! Waitress doesn't even come to the table to ask if we need anything. I know the restaurant is trying to make money, but if you cant accomodate the people dont take the resorvation. I love the food here, its delicious, but ever since i went there with my family tuesday night I've been sick. Fever, stomach pain, headache and vomiting. I found Nargis Café through Yelp. The food was very delicious. I was in a hurry since I have an hour lunch break so I couldn't enjoy as much as I would like. However, twice my soup and bread was attempted to take away by two different waitresses. There was some soup left as well as a 1/2 loaf of the bread (which I paid for) and I would like to finish it. That was my right. I was very upset and felt that they want to kick me out as soon as possible. I now would think twice of bringing my friends and spouse there. It was unfortunate cause I thought I found a great place. Not anymore. I was courtesy gave them an almost 20% tip and clearly they didn't deserve it. read more

What is there to say...every time you see a mostly Russian frequented place rated 4 stars on Yelp...dont walk there...RUN. This is legit Uzbeki food mostly done for the benefit of its primarily Russian speaking clientele but the food and service are so good that even the Americans arent afraid to visit! Its always packed...always, day or night, sun or snow storm so unless u wanna eat outside or wait three hours, make reservations! As for the food you basically cant go wrong w whatever u order but if u came for the authentic Uzbeki experience then go for the good stuff like lagman (noodle meat soup), kebabs (beef and lamb are my personal faves), samsa, salad tashkent and of course the plov (i prefer the reg one not the "green"). The service is prompt and efficient and food is consistently good so this place gets two thumbs up from me! read more

Very unappreciative of your business!The person taking orders over the phone is not friendly and acts as though she's doing you a favor. I asked my fish to be deboned and she said they don't do that because they are busy and they don't have time to do that. Oh well they lost my $80 order because other restaurants in the area that are even more busy will do that for you. If I asked my steak to be well done, would you say no we only make it raw because we're busy and don't have time to cook it? I doubt it. Love...love..love this place. By the end of the week, i always crave to eat here with friends.. Nargis is a very nice restaurant with yummy food. I would suggest to order Tashkent, Lagman soup, Manti, Samsa, and Uzbek Plov. There are no reservations here, so you'll be put on a waiting list. No matter what time it is, the restaurant is always busy. If you have never tried Russian food, this would be the best place to go to. I just wish they could open one up in Manhattan. Now I am very excited to see ever growing success of Nargis Cafe since the renovation and expansion. The place has the best Shishkebab and Uzbek Soups around Brooklyn. Terrible service!!! First off all, they brought us 2 samsa and 2 chebureks, Instead of 1 samsa and 2 cheburek. Then, wrong salad. We have never seen how tashkent salad looks like, we tried it. Server was weird, she asked if we still want tashkent salad. Waitress was horible. When she came with our ordered salad, she said: ,, this is how tashkent salad looks like", looked like it was our fault that we do not know how it looks like. At the end we asked to put our dishes in to go boxes. It was 2 plates of Plov and one salad ( which we could not finish because our changed mood), and they put 2 plovs togheter, in one box, even though it was for 2 separate people. Terrible! Love the food here. It's a very authentic middle eastern environment and they are cool with the BYOB option if you have a group dinner. The fried manti are amazing. So is the traditional Uzbeckski rice or plov. If u like kebab and warm Turkish flatbread this place has it all. They deliver too which is great but the best way to experience the food is to eat it there right when then bring it to you warm. There are lots of middle eastern spots all over this part of Brooklyn but this is def one of my favs. read more

I had a reservation for a party of 20 and it's $35 per person+ tax and tip and for that price the service was horrible and the food was not suffetiant enough for all.the samsa was cold and plov was very mushy and the kebabs were flavorful but not enough for all I asked the waitress about it she suggested that we should order extra that is what I did but I was not expecting that extra cost. Now this is a very loud place and not really clean either. the seating is really close to each other it's very hard to get in and out its all ok with me if everything wouldn't be a trouble. Would only order in & not eat in the cafe. Do not like the way they treat the customers. Must drink bottle water at $2 each & be told its only $2 . They too lied about the water being bad. We came in Saturday afternoon, this small place was so so crowded, we have one group before us, table for 4 and they said it will be like 20 min before we will be seated, we came back after 20 min and the hostess told us it will be 40 more minutes to wait (and that is all for the only reason they have their "preferred" clients seated for a while. Damn it, there is so many places around better than that, I hope they will go out of business pretty soon. They relationship to the client is insulting, they called us back after 2 hours 15 minutes when we already were in Manhattan, seated and treated. If you will take a risk next time you have been warned, when you will decide to visit this place. Was out there last night with family for the first time we made reservations in advance a place like this fills up quick so make reservations. Service was great no complaints, our waiter was funny and entertaining (young Russian guy with long hair). The food was delicious better than my usual spot I go to in queens. The portions are huge and the prices are very very low. A dinner for 10 with a huge tip was 190$ everyone left stuffed and drunk. We will be returning for other occasions. read more

Great Uzbek food in Brighton Beach! This place is great, very authentic food and a real charming cozy interior. The lamb rib skewers were awesome, I highly recommend them. The best avocado salad ever! Usually order out because you will come out smelling like a kabob from there. The salmon kabob is one of my favorites here, cooked perfectly not dry.
