My apartment has awfully maintained washers and dryers, so I do my wash & dry here all at once, three small washers at $3.50 each is cheaper and more convenient than one load at a time at home for roughly the same price. Although there are much closer options to my house than Fresh Folds, this one looked the cleanest and it isn't coin-operated, so I decided to go with it. I am very glad that I did, because I had a very pleasant experience. No randoms hanging around causing trouble, no foul smelling washing machines (I read a review that complained about such at a different laundromat), a fairly clean interior, and decently priced options for what you get. In order to use the machines you load or reload a card specific to this business with a minimum of $10 (at least at self-service). Then you wave the card over the designated area on the machines to start them up. It's pretty much all self-service, but there was an attendant at the register who helped people. They also sell laundry essentials such as detergent, fabric softener, laundry bags, and they also have a vending machine to purchase food at. They have a gender neutral bathroom that appears to require their laundry card, but it says "$0.00", so I assume it's to make sure only customers gain access. Something else I noticed is that the washers and dryers have Spanish translations! (Price Range): $15+ (Machines): I used the mid sized machine ($8.59 a load) to wash all of my regular clothes, which I estimate to be about 3 loads. It states that it can hold 4 loads. For the smaller machine ($4.25 a load), I washed two heavy coats. The clothes came out smelling and looking great. The dryer is $.75 per 8 minutes, which isn't bad in my opinion. The second largest machine is $10.58 and holds 6 loads. The largest machine is $14.10 and holds 8 loads. (Location): It's located within a small business center in a fairly decent part of Tacoma. Good amount of parking spots. It's a decent sized establishment on the smaller side, and there are 6 regular chairs and 4 barstools for people to sit and wait. Both the machines have dispense areas at the top where you pour your softener, detergent, main wash, pre wash, and 2nd main wash. There are wash settings for heavy or soiled loads, adding an extra rinse, delicates, warm, cold, hot, etc. (Service): There was an attendant, but I didn't interact with him at all.

The location is convenient for me but kind of tucked away in the plaza it's in, easy to miss. Reload your laundry cards there, they even have a snack machine that you can also use your laundry card to get snacks from. I can't get away without spending $11 on a wash load because I only come with king sized bedding but it's nice to do it all at once and I can't get it into my own washer at home. The dryer runs me about $8, it's .75 for 8 minutes and you load up from there. A warning - if you are only washing a large blanket like a king sized comforter you may error out the dryer. This only happened to me 1 out of 5 times. But I guess when the blanket fluffs up it covers the vacuum holes and causes the dryer to emergency shut off. I had to keep an eye on it the whole time and it added a good 30 min to my cycle. Very annoying but better than not being able to wash and dry my bedding !! By the way I went to the location on 72nd because it's near my work and the card I purchased and have always used at UP did not work there. So the same card will not work at both locations and you'll have to buy separate laundry cards and your balance won't transfer. However, the shop accepted the job and never indicated that the alteration could not be completed successfully. When we picked up the dress, it had significant fit issues, visible puckering, uneven stitching, and multiple snags in the fabric. We returned immediately, and to their credit, the staff was kind and agreed to attempt repairs. When we picked up the dress for a second time, not only were many of the original concerns still present, but the dress had additional snags, pulls, loose threads, and further damage to the fabric. When I pointed out the condition of the dress, I was told that the material was very sensitive and that precautions had been taken while handling it. While I understand that some fabrics require extra care, the dress was returned to us in worse condition than when it was originally dropped off. Throughout the process, the owner was polite and not argumentative. I also appreciate that the shop refunded the alteration fee without hesitation. My disappointment is not with the customer service, but with the outcome and the lack of accountability for the condition in which the dress was returned. In the end, my daughter was left without a wearable version of the dress she had chosen for her senior prom. I am sharing this experience because I wish I had known beforehand that a delicate fabric and a more complex alteration carried a risk of significant damage.
