Late in this review but I just wanted to flag to everyone to avoid this shop at all costs. I brought my truck in for a simple radiator fluid flush and a thermostat replacement. They advised me that my radiator and my power steering pump were going out so I agreed to get that replaced at the same time. These "experts" replaced the power steering pump with the cheapest option available and put in the OLD FLUID into the pump. Not even 2 days later the pump went out again. I called them up and they said "oh, you didn't pay for new fluid." Really!?! After me railing them on the phone about their "expertise" in auto repairs, they replaced my pump again (still with the cheapest trash option available) and sent me on my way. Turns out that along with all of this, they used the wrong thermostat for my truck so my readings are all off for temps. They also did not flush my radiator system and put new fluid in on top of old fluid that was sitting in my pipes still. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! read more

Quoted me a great price, got me in next day, and did an amazing job. I can't work on my own car's because I live in an apartment, so I was really grateful to have that experience. Guy was super nice and gave me good vibes, which says a lot seeing I grew up hanging out at my parents shop as a kid. I called about 10-20 shops, they had the second best price (only over by maybe $20 at most) but could get me in next day rather than 2 weeks like the other place. But again, the dude gave me great vibes and I was going to go to his place anyways. Glad I could find a great mechanic here in Columbus. read more

Took our son's 2013 Accord for a simple alternator replacement. Admittedly fried the first one, the second one lasted 30 minutes. Called them to tow it back which they originally "charged" again for. 3 alternators later and a $200 Duralast (cheapest battery ever) we were on the road until we realized they fried the VSA module when they fried the alternators, (likely Auto Zone rejects) We took it back and they said it was a factory ABS update. Dealership said otherwise. Spare yourself and go somewhere else who won't experiment on your vehicle. read more

Today was my first time visiting the garage. Having moved back to Columbus this past year - I was looking for an auto shop where I didn't have to deal with dishonest and inexperienced staff. The garage came recommended and the reviews online were great as well. Jay is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - he took the time to find out about my car and issues I was having. They are professional and honest with an experienced staff - you can't beat 33 years of being in business - they take care of what needs to be done and get you going! Save yourself the time and money and don't go to these chain shops. I will absolutely go back to N.A.S Garage in the future. read more

I finally found a trustworthy LOCAL (not a chain) auto repair shop that I'm confident to take my vehicle to! My fondness for them started a couple of years back when I had an indicator light come on in my vehicle. I decided to stop by Nas Car on my way home from work (without calling ahead) to get it checked out simply because they were located close to my home. The guys were very accomodating and friendly, and hooked up my vehicle to the diagnostic machine immediately. They helped me figure out what the problem was (for free!), but I didn't end up getting the work done there because they brought to my attention (HUGE points for honesty here!!) that the repair should still be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. One of the guys even took the time to call his friend that worked at Tansky Toyota to double check the warranty for me. I knew then that when I needed repairs or routine maintenance done on my vehicle in the future I was going to take my car back to them. Fast forward to last week when my fondness for them was solidified! They did some brake work for me, and I was again impressed with the overall experience. This time around I had interactions with Jay, the owner, and found him to be honest, knowledgeable, and friendly! I highly recommend Nas Car Garage! read more

Had a simple problem, that I wanted fixed as quickly as possible. Couldn't figure out where to get it done, and was frustrated as all of the big chain shops I went to wanted $90 just to read the trouble code from my car. Got lucky and gave these guys a call after I found them on the internet, they read my trouble code for free 45 seconds after I arrived, which was only about 3 minutes after I called in. I knew it was a simple procedure, and I was very pleased that I found a shop that was looking to help rather than put me on a waiting list. I'm the kind of consumer that just wants to get home as soon as possible, so just for that immediate service, I was already sold on having them fix anything the car needed. I left the car there overnight, and by the next day they had it fixed for a price that I am very happy with. As far as I can tell, great place to go, with guys that are just looking to get you in and out without hassle. I'll be going back for anything else I need done. read more

Man, I really wanted to like these guys because they seem like a good group of people and they are close to my house, but unfortunately, they came up real short on expertise and price. I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. I had indicated that I got it checked and the computer indicated a mis-fire on cylinder 1,2, and 3. My engine sounded 'loose' so I knew something was up. I brought it to Nas Car Thursday and let them know of the situation. They changed my wires, distributor cap, spark plugs, and other stuff. I got the car back after $350, and went on my way. I immediately noticed my car sounded exactly the same (i.e. 'loose') but thought it might need some time for the computer to get the timing and stuff right (I'm no mechanic). Unfortunately, the check engine light came on Friday evening (they close at 5 and aren't open on the weekend) so I got it checked at a different mechanic. This person told me that it was my flex pipe that was busted, which was causing the 'loose' sound and the engine misfires due to not having correct back pressure. The second mechanic indicated that I may or may not needed the $350 worth of changes, the first thing would be to replace the flex pipe and then go from there on potential additional work. Cam back to Nas Car today and explained the situation and hoping they would do the right thing for the customer. They were open to my feedback but didn't seem too concerned with what I had found out. The owner didn't seem too interested in my explanation of the back pressure, he almost was surprised with what I found out. I had an old flex pipe and told them to take a look themselves and let me know. I come back close to closing today and indeed, the other mechanic was right. The owner of Nas Car seemed surprised and happy to report the 'loose' sound was gone and there were no more computer codes. I was hoping for an apology for the mis-diagnosis (or at the very least acknowledgement) but didn't get it. I also didn't get a break on them installing my flex pipe, which cost me another $200 (apparently it takes 2 hrs to install). I actually asked Monroe about installation and they said $100, but I came back to Nas Car hoping they would make me whole or at least give me a break due to all the great reviews on Yelp, but unfortunately not. On top of that, they failed to place pieces of the interior that they pulled off back on when i got the car back. The owner did put one piece back, but that just was the icing on the cake of these guys not really paying attention and not doing what's right for the customer. Basically I wasted $550 on equipment i may not have needed and could have just gave Monroe $100 to install the flex pipe. Definitely not coming here again. To note, the second mechanic is One Call Auto Mechanic, he's my go to but I tried these guys since they're close to home, but no more. read more

I took my car in because I needed help getting a tow kit put on my suv. Not only was I treated very well, I found that their labor fee didnt cost an arm and a leg unlike other places that I called beforehand. If anything were to go wrong with my car, I will be returning to Nas! read more

I had a good experience at this place. I went in to get my oil changed. When they changed the oil, they found out my car was leaking a lot of oil from a lot of different places, so much so that with the car's age/mileage, it wouldn't really be cost-efficient to fix it since the car is probably headed to the cemetery soon anyway. I was glad they didn't just tell me they could fix it since they knew it wasn't the best idea for me. Everyone I talked to was really nice and I would definitely go back. read more

Nearly four years after my original review, I am still a regular customer of this garage and have yet to have a bad experience. The employees are friendly and courteous, service is done quickly, and the prices are (still) extremely reasonable. Thanks, guys! read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! I wish I could rate them 0, but alas I cannot... Nas Car is overpriced, sketchy, & dishonest. They may even perform UNAUTHORIZED action on your vehicle or UNLAWFULLY authorize others to work on it without your consent! ---------- After I slipped off the road, they replaced bent rims & checked/reinflated tires. They recommended brakes/rotors, but wanted to overcharge me by *at least* $200!!! Now, it needed a body shop. *They* transported the car to *their* friend's body shop WITHOUT ANY AUTHORIZATION whatsoever!!!! By the time I arrived at the body shop, the car was already taken apart! They said it was authorized by my insurance adjustor; she said she never gave any such authorization, and that she has no legal authority to do so (that's mine alone). I *never* gave my authorization, either! They're a seedy, sketchy shop that tried to back me into a corner to get their buddy some business. They're crooks, plain and simple. extremely disappointed with this auto service facility - been a customer for a number of years and the last two visits were nightmares - the last visit was the worst! My coolant light came on, so made an appointment to have it looked at. I also told them to go ahead to change oil, fluids, etc. When I called to see what the status was - they indicated it would was ready and in addition to oil change, they said the tires needed rotating - I took their word for it! When I went to pick it up, paid my bill and proceeded to pull out of the packing place - right away I felt something was wrong - it felt as it all four tires were flat. I jumped out of the car and ask if the car had been out for a test drive after the tires were rotated? The tech say "No, why?" I said something is definitely wrong - he made me feel like I was nuts. He got in to drive it and the front tires fell off. I was flabberghasted - and all I got was an "OOPS". They said it would take 5 minutes to fix - 48.5 minutes later they said it was ready. No apology or real explanation and certainly no offer of a refund. I drove the car back to work (as it was my lunch hour) - when I drove home that night - the coolant light came back on! I again had to have them fix it. Jay came to my place of business and picked it up leaving his vehicle there and said he would call ASAP - he never called and when I went to the packing lot after work HIS VEHICLE WAS GONE! NO CALL, nothing!. When I called asking to speak to him (Jay - owner), he was gone for the day. I asked about my car, they indicated it was ready, but had no clue what was done to fix it! I really expected some sort of explanation on not only why the tires fell off and why the coolant situation wasn't taken care of the first time. Similar situations happened in previous visits - well NO LONGER will I be a customer of Jay's and NAS CAR - I really expected more from Jay! And now this week the coolant light came back on and the car totally died while I was out of town - leaving me with a huge tow bill and more expense that should have been taken care of by these 'reliable, honest' guys! OH PLEASE! P.S. NEVER ONCE in all the years that I have been taking my car here have they mentioned the 'so-called shuttle'! read more
