I have been coming to Car Doctors for many years when Nick was the owner. He ended up selling the shop to new owners and they have taken the shop to a new improved level. They now have a bigger facility, nice customer lounge with TV and free cold beverages. They recently got a new logo, and business is booming. All their mechanics are ASE certified, and they know what they are doing. I have three vehicles that I have serviced here regularly for brakes, tune ups, air conditioning, suspension and occasionally oil changes. In one of my vehicles I needed a new engine and they gave me three options depending on your budget: Junk yard used engine with 30 day warranty, reconditioned engine with one year warranty or new engine with three year warranty. I opted for the new engine. My vehicle now runs very good and have had no other issues with the engine since the engine was replaced. Their prices are very very reasonable compared to other mechanics. I always shop around and they almost always come in below what other shops charge. I trust them and I won't go anywhere else. I stopped in and made an appointment to have them check and diagnose a front suspension problem. We scheduled 3 days in advance for an 8 am appointment for Friday morning . They told me the diagnosis would cost $110.00, it would take an hour or so to check the suspension and the charge would be credited towards repairs that would be scheduled at a later date. When I arrived a few minutes early for my scheduled appointment time they asked if I could leave my vehicle for the weekend as they didn't have time for my scheduled appointment. They tried to explain that they had a technician leave a week before they made my appointment. No phone call before I got there to advise me of their problems. It's apparent that customer service is not one of their top priorities. I'm going to steer clear of this place and definitely would not recommend them to anyone! read more

One word: Run. It was my first time using the Car Doctors, and it will be my last. I came in to resolve my AC issues. I left with AC issues and more. I spent over $1500 only for the AC issue to not be resolved and for new problems to be created. The Car Doctors did not fix my AC. They told me that they were installing an AC kit, but it turns out that they only installed a "compressor kit," which did not resolve the issue. The way that they communicated was deceitful. They also damaged parts on my car in an attempt to obtain more business. They damaged my engine ground wire, oil pan, and serpentine belt. The conversation that I had with Kevin when he called to tell me that my car was ready was alarming. In hindsight, it foreshadowed that they damaged my car. Kevin insisted that if anything is wrong bring it back. In response, I asked him, "Why would anything be wrong if you guys just fixed it?" He repeated himself and said that if anything is wrong bring it back to them. I reiterated, "You guys just did the diagnosis, and I bought an AC kit to address the issue so why would anything else be wrong?" I also asked what's in the AC kit. Kevin mentioned several parts. He insisted that I should bring my car back to them if anything is wrong and added that I shouldn't take my car anywhere else. I left that conversation with an uneasy feeling. This was a huge red flag. After picking up my car, I noticed new issues with my electrical system. My CarPlay monitor was flickering in and out. I later learned that the electrical issues were due to my engine ground wire being damaged. On April 20, 2024, the Car Doctors texted me asking how it was going. I responded and sent photos of the issues. The fact that they were checking in was another red flag for me. I remembered Kevin saying if anything is wrong bring it back, which was alarming because it seemed like they were planning for something to be wrong. I was concerned, so I drove around without music to listen to the car run. I heard a squealing noise that was not there before. I looked under the hood to see that my engine ground wire was damaged. It was not like that before taking it to the Car Doctors. The squealing noise turned out to be the serpentine belt, which is new. It was not like that before taking it to the Car Doctors. The AC stopped working. The Car Doctors did not fix my AC. Not only do I have photos proving that they damaged my car, but their own inspection proves this as well. When I came in on April 17, 2024, they inspected my car while they performed the AC diagnosis. The Car Doctors recommended that I get an oil change, left turn signal bulb, and windshield wiper blades. The ground wire and oil pan were not listed. The Car Doctors had my car overnight. When I picked up my car on April 18, 2024, they did another inspection and now my engine ground wire and oil pan need to be replaced. There was not an issue until they created one. In addition to damaging my engine ground wire and oil pan, they also damaged my serpentine belt. The belt is new. It wasn't squealing until after I brought it to them. I communicated the issues to the Car Doctors via text, and they denied any wrongdoing. They pretended that the car was like that and sent me inspection photos with the engine ground wire and oil pan damaged. They wanted me to bring my car back in, but I refused. I attempted to continue a text conversation, but they ignored me. I refuse to let them touch my car again because I do not trust them. I have photo evidence that the Car Doctors damaged my car. It is by the grace of God that I have these photos. Avoid the Car Doctors at all costs. read more

The only qualm I have is that my car was aligned before I went in and afterwards when they asked if everything was ok and I told them I needed another alignment they ignored me. Don't take your car to CAR DOCS in Columbus. Broke down in Delaware (third time) on Christmas Day for the same issue Car Docs on Livingston fixed twice before. It was not the alternator but the ground wire that kept blowing the alternators out. They owe me! Three towes, time off work, Uber expenses, etc Thanks to Joe's Towing and Auto Repair in Delaware, my car is finally fixed. They owe me for this $600 car bill. All of this could have been prevented if it was fixed the first time. When I broke down, my son and the police came to my rescue. As I lifted the hood, they didn't even secure the battery down, the bracket fell apart as I moved it with my finger. I recently took my car to The Car Doctors after receiving a quote from Firestone for a new radiator. The mechanic, Nik, at the Car Doctors quoted me about $100 less than Firestone. I live a good distance away from the Car Doctors, but the fact that they wern't "salesy" or trying to push me to upgrade everything made me very comfortable with them. When I went to pick up my car, Nik had found another problem that I had known about, but had been putting off. A few of my extra rear lights were out due to worn wires connecting to my trunk. Nik showed me the problem and offered to fix it at an extremely good rate. He also did a quick tune up that took away some excess noise that I had been driving with for years. I wonder if some of the reviews about this place are fake as my experience with the Car Doctors was quite awful. I mean I gave these guys multiple attempts to find out what the problem was and they failed miserably with every attempt. There idea of fixing a car is throwing parts at it hoping something will "stick" and correct the problem. After my experience with them I went to another ship across town who correctly diagnosed the problem in 30 minutes and I had them fix it correctly for $700.00 and it was ready the next day. I recently took my car to the Car Doctors after getting a recommendation from a friend and taking my car to Alternative Auto (do NOT go there!) and getting ripped off. Nik and Gary at the Car Doctors took so much time to explain to me what was going on with my car. Nik was the first mechanic who had looked at it (after a long list of people who regarded my car as a "mechanical mystery") and actually figured out what was wrong. He also charged me less than half of what others had charged me and he did more repairs than others were offering. He also was super honest and told me exactly what I would need to do to keep it in good running shape. The Car Doctors shop is located pretty far from where I live, but it's worth the extra trip! I took my vintage jeep to the car doctors to replace the radiator based on yelp reviews. I had to take the Jeep back to the car doctor because one of the hoses on the new radiator was leaking. Nick attempted to fix the problem but it was not fixed. then another of the hoses started leaking as well. That's half of the connections of the radiator leaking. WhenI called Nick, he was going out of town for 10 days and couldn't look at it despite the fact it wasn't fixed the first two times it went to the shop. Nick did offer to look at it again after he got back . The shop was cheap but I don't have enough time to take my car in three times for a simple repair. I ended up pulling the radiator back out myself and correcting the problems. The clamp on one of the hoses had not been tightened down enough and a fixture on the radiator for the transmission lines was not sealed properly. I also discovered that the radiator wasn't installed level and a piece of the wiring harness had been trapped between the radiator and the body while I had it out the car. Nick is a nice guy and cheap, but I'm not happy with the results. Probably won't use again. I've lost confidence in this garage. read more

I am very, VERY skeptical when it comes to someone working on my car. I bought a coupon online for a oil change and diagnostic check because my car was sputtering and had been for some time. I had even drove it to Jackson, OH to have my dad's repairman look at it because there are WAY too many crooked people out here!!!! I can say that I am very pleased with the car doctors. They asked me a lot of questions about my car problems before even looking at it. They explained when they would check back and they did just so. I was on pins and needles when waiting for their call, but I was pleasantly surprised when they explained explained what problems were wrong with my car, what needed to be fixed now, what could be fixed later, and what they WOULDN'T worry about at all! I bought a car last year from a car lot next door to them, and the guy over there recommended The Car Doctors for work on any foreign car. Recently, I had my Lexus RX330 at a Lexus dealer for service. When I got dealership's "recommendations" back I realized that they just checked a bunch of stuff off on a list without even looking at the items since I'd already done some of the work myself, and wanted to charge me a bunch of money to do things I KNEW did not need to be done, so I decided to look around elsewhere for service. I could not remember the name of this place so I drove by on a Saturday to get the phone number off the door. Nick, the owner, saw me there (he was in cleaning the shop) and came out to ask me if he could assist me. I told him I just wanted the number so I could call to set an appointment. He replaced a headlight for free for me while I was there. I took the car back for a rack and pinion assembly replacement and lower steering shaft replacement, which was done for $1000 less than the dealership quoted, AND since I had the parts, replaced light bulbs and did a number of other small items while the car was there, without charging me for the little stuff - and the dealer wanted several hundred dollars to replace six light bulbs and two air filters. He talked over my various options for parts (OEM versus aftermarket) and so on before beginning the repair and allowed me to pick how to proceed, taking his recommendation in mind. The shop is IMMACULATELY clean. You could eat off the floor in the waiting area and the service bays. I have seldom seen an auto repair shop that is so clean. He also talked to me about a number of other items on the dealership's "you must replace this now or your car will blow up" list and said none of them were that critical and would not affect the car's reliability or safety, and based on the amount of fluid that had been leaking from the faulty rack and pinion assembly, he felt it was not possible to determine if anything else was leaking, recommended that I drive the car for three or four months and bring it back to see if it was indeed leaking from other places, and if so, we'll talk about how to proceed then. They seem to do good work at a fair price, and on top of that, to be honest mechanics who want to do a good and honest job versus ripping people off. read more
