I have been researching cat rescues/shelters in New England with particular attention to the ones…read morelocated in Massachusetts. CARMAH or Cat Rescue of Marlborough and Hudson is a rescue organisation which does a fantastic job of adopting out cats. Even during this hectic period of Covid when applications are flooding shelters and rescues, they do a thorough job of reviewing all applications and respond quickly to all inquiries. CARMAH has no bricks and mortar base and so relies on many volunteers and staff to take in unwanted/stray cats and place them in foster homes where they are lovingly kept until forever homes are found. I dealt with Liz, who is the adoption coordinator. She was unbelievably helpful. After everything on my application checked out, and they certainly do contact all your references, she arranged a great virtual visit with my kitty's foster mum. Jennifer was so open and kind and was available for emails and texts. Picking up my new fur baby was done very safely with all safety precautions due to Covid. I could not have been happier on my drive home with my new kitty. She is exactly as she was described. I have seen instances with other shelters where the cat has not matched its description. Since my new kitty has been home, I have maintained the relationship with kitty's foster mum, who has been so gracious and helpful. I also had dealings with Melissa and Brittany, also with CARMAH. Again they could not have been more helpful. So from new kitty and me 10 out of 10 "mewows" for a purr-fact experience.

These people have no idea how to care for a pet. Their…read moremethods are laughable and they treat the animals as though they are liabilities. I was denied due to their belief that a fenced in yard (9ft PVC and unclimbable) is an unsafe area for them to enjoy the outdoors. These types of people would rather treat their pets as objects and keep them under lock in key in a small room rather than allow them the freedom to explore their own nature. I have loved and cared for cats for almost 30 years, never abandoned or given up a cat but apparently I am not capable of caring for them properly. The kicker is that I discovered the kittens that I attempted to adopt living outside underneath someone's stoop and sent them to Carmah for a chance at a better life. I apologize to those babies and hope they make it through the unreasonable and untrustworthy care of Carmah.

I went for the otter experience and it was truly worth every penny. The online booking process was seamless as was check-in. I had a private room with two otters and their caretaker. The otters were rambunctious but it made for such a fun and memorable visit. You could tell that they're very loved and well cared for. All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and very kind to the animals. I would highly recommend this business to other animals lovers who are seeking a unique experience.

We learned a ton about the owls and got to interact with them up close- as well as getting some epic pictures! The outdoor play area was really great for kids and I can't wait to come back with my grandkids. I was totally overwhelmed by the variety of animals they had- totally unexpected for a fairly small operation. We interacted with other employees as well including Captain Brian and Ron(?) who gave us a wonderful tour of several areas and animals. I have read some bad reviews here about enclosure sizes- of course we would all love to see these creatures running free in the wild, but many (most?) of these animals are injured and cannot survive in the wild. Others (Diego) have had their enclosure size limited (prescribed) by veterinarians to minimize additional strains on their injuries. I was especially moved by the way every employee I saw interacted with each animal. They respected them, spoke to each animal by name, and showed genuine love and affection for every creature there. I think if I could recommend an improvement, it would be more signage. There were several cages that weren't labeled, or didn't have a backstory listed. I definitely would like more information! Overall, I would definitely support this business and I will be back! I highly recommend you check this gem out too.

Our consult was with Nance, and she was very patient in explaining the process and talking us through some initial things that we were struggling with. Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. We also started bringing our dog to their dog day camp 2x a week. Tim was also very patient in explaining the process. The dog day camp has been great in getting her to play with other dogs and allows her to learn obedience from others aside from us.

I'm glad I chose one of the places she shared, she knew hwere to go, and good places to take the pics. At our appointment, she came on time and was very well-prepared. Deciding whether or not it was worth the money, time, effort, etc. Clearly I decided to do it and let me tell you- IT WAS 100% WORTH IT ALL. I didn't have any idea where to go to take photos- so Dog Proof set up an absolute perfect array of places to take her. We went to wide open fields, beautiful lakes, graffiti walls, bridges- it was quiet the adventure. Ruth had a blast! Unlike most photo studios, Dog Proof let Ruth be a dog. They captured her jumping for her tennis ball, digging in the sand, exploring the woods. Every single photo showcased Ruth having the time of her life, enjoying being a dog. Not to mention, Ang is not afraid to get muddy! She got in the dirt to take half of our photos- getting the best of Ruth's angles! It was incredible to see her work!! When the photos came back, we were stunned. These photos will last a lifetime, moments that I could never have captured on my own, that are hanging on our walls forever. I can't thank Dog Proof enough for giving my family such a beautiful gift. If you're on the fence about getting your pups photographed- I suggest you do it! You won't regret it at all if you use Dog Proof. (AND your dog will be happy you chose them too- Ruth left the shoot exhausted with lots of cheese & meat in her belly!)

You'd think when you book an appointment, show up on time that they would put your dog on the table and start with the nail trim and wash. No as I walked out the door almost closed behind me I hear "put her in the cage" So Instead of leaving I waited knowing I was going to get a phone call. Not 5 minutes later "could you come pick her up" hmm I wonder why? I said not to put her in a cage, but that was flown over their heads because they do not care. I highly recommend you take your dog somewhere else because this place is a joke. I typically use a mobile groomer but he was unavailable, I thought this would have been a quick easy service but was not. Hire people that are capable of their jobs. I've never booked an appointment to get my hair cut where I had to go wait in a cage. I'm sat down right away because I booked the hair dresser for a specific time like I did for my dog. Do better!!! And no where on your website says that they go in cages.
