I've been coming to Nason Medical with my son for over 20 years. Dr. Nason ran what seemed to be a very well-organized, well/staffed clinic. AllnER doctors. Then, he went through legal problems and was shut down. I never bought into the rumors of illegal billing practices. I felt like the area hospitals had connections and hated the fact that Nason's clinics were out-performing the emergency rooms; that his downfall was borne of greed and jealousy. Fast forward to today. I am completely dumbfounded by the poor quality of this clinic. I read another review on here of a woman who received a bill nearly two years after a service, and that happened to me as well. And, that bill said my account was over 180 days past due, even though I'd never been billed until that time. Trying to get this straightened out was frustrating as hell, but I had to come in for a work physical, so I paid half of that old bill ($90), but still had to cough up the $100 for my physical. But just a week later, I got a letter threatening me with collections! My most recent trip to Nason was horrible. I won't bore you with these details, but when I tried to resolve this issue, I was treated poorly. I have left messages to speak with Barron Nason, but apparently, he is not concerned with quality of care, that is, if you don't schedule another visit to come in and pay him again just to talk to him. I feel like I've been literally kicked in the teeth. I even wrote Dr. Nason a letter telling him what happened, while still acknowledging the fact that I've been a loyal patient for over 20 years. But I have received absolutely no response. Dr. Nason, you no longer have my endorsement (and I have bragged about you to countless people for years). Your clinic is an absolute JOKE, and your practice should quite possibly be scrutinized again. I will never recommend your clinic to anyone after the crap I've been through. You've lost your way, and it seems it has everything to do with enriching yourself, and nothing to do with caring about the people of the Lowcountry. Stay clear if this place, people. Equal Care? Not Here. If you're not Hispanic, prepare to sit and rot in the lobby while the front desk and head nurse give everyone else priority. I didn't know healthcare worked on favoritism -- thanks for the ugly education. I waited over an hour for something as simple as a 12-panel urine test -- and for the record, the VA doesn't even make you wait this long. In that time, I watched multiple Hispanic patients walk in after me and be called back almost immediately. The excuse? The head nurse "will talk with them" first. That's not a policy -- that's discrimination. This wasn't about medical urgency; it was about bias. My time is valuable, my health matters, and no one should be treated like they're invisible because of their ethnicity. This is supposed to be healthcare, not a VIP club for select patients. If management cares about their reputation, they'll retrain the front desk, hold the head nurse accountable, and make sure every patient -- regardless of race -- is treated with the same respect and urgency. I have been sitting in the lobby for over an hour with absolutely no communication, no update, and no apparent concern from the NasonCare staff. The level of disregard for patients' time is both unprofessional and inexcusable. Healthcare is supposed to be rooted in compassion and efficiency, yet here it is overshadowed by incompetence and indifference. If this team considers this level of service acceptable, it speaks volumes about their priorities--and clearly, patient care is not one of them. Even your response blames my insurance company when they had nothing to do with your billing practices or mistaken charges. Take responsibility for your own mistakes!!! Wow!!! I visited NasonCare once in April 2024, and recently received a collections letter for that visit--along with another charge supposedly from two years ago. This was shocking, as I had never received any bills or invoices prior to being sent to collections. Even more concerning, the collections notice included a visit that never happened. After I posted a one-star review, NasonCare finally reached out--something they failed to do before sending my account to collections. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed issues on their billing department and an outside auditing company, repeatedly shifting accountability rather than addressing the problem. When I asked for clarification about the additional charges, communication stopped entirely despite multiple follow-ups over several weeks. I eventually had to call on my day off, only to learn that the extra charges were not even mine. The staff member I spoke with acknowledged the issue but stated it wasn't her responsibility, though she would "try" to have the incorrect charges removed from collections. This experience has left me with a complete lack of trust in NasonCare. Based on my experience, they have shown little accountability or concern for resolving serious billing errors or treating patients fairly. read more

I had an upper respiratory infection and with my PA's care I was better within a few days. So I just read a lot of the reviews and now my experience aligns. I called about becoming a new patient, and they told me I needed to come in and do bloodwork to establish care. I came in at 10am and at 12:42 I left. I filled out paperwork and sat there forever. I was super nice but the staff is not very nice. Nobody was rude to me, but they definitely don't have a customer service attitude. When I told the lady I was leaving she looked and my paperwork and said you have blue cross blue shield. I said yes, and magically she said you're next if you can wait. I'm sorry I've already waited 4:42 minutes. This isn't the care I was trying to establish. read more

Horrible experience. I went for a COVID PCR - they sent it away to the lab and then DIDNT CALL with the results. I called them today and they've had the results for two days. "We get busy so we don't call for the negatives but we're pretty good at calling when there's a positive result" they told me. Avoid if you have absolutely any alternative. We ended up driving up to Columbia (90 mins!) to get a same day PCR from Doctors Care Seven Oaks (this was the only place we could find that did same-day PCR Covid tests on a Sunday in all of eastern SC). That was a great experience - we got the results back in 30 minutes. NEVER AGAIN. Id give them 0 stars but it's not an option. I have 3 instances Nason has failed. FAIL #1. My niece from Louisiana went in for a rash and when I contacted Walmart for her prescription Nason never sent in her prescription. Thankfully her mother was coming to get her. She ended up going back to the doctor in Louisiana. FAIL FAIL #2. I went in for a swab (not Covid testing) and was told I would receive my results in 7business days at most after being there for almost 4 hours.I ended up contacting Labcorp to find out my test results were in. I called 3 days in a row for my results and was told Dr. Nason is the only person that can give me my results and he's yet to call me back. It's 3 weeks now and still no idea what my test result were. But they took my insurance and money! FAIL # 3. My wife went in 2 weeks ago for Covid testing for work. She was told her results would be in in 3-5 business days. She finally called LabCorp who told her "Nason is very slow they don't send in results for days at a time. LabCorp would personally call her back and if she didn't get results soon she should take another test." My wife's coworkers are back at work while my wife is waiting due to Nason's slow business practices. Needles to say we will be staying clear of NASON and letting everyone know to do the same. Horrible staff!! Came there to get my antibody test and the lady on the reception Laura didn't allow me to get the test. First she was trying to overcharge me ( although I called them before and also on the website it says that patience even without insurance get free test. On the FB page it's saying 50$ for the blood test which I was totally fine to pay) but she told he it's would be 175$ cause 50$ for The blood test and another 125$ for the doctor check up before. I told her I don't need a doctor visit, I just need to get a 50$ antibody test. She started asking my name and contact info. Then again was trying to insist on the doctor charge. Then she asked me for the id which I didn't get with me today ( on the website there's no info about must present an id to get the blood test). After she told me she won't allow me to get the test ( ridiculous cause I went on many states for different blood and urine tests and all they cared either insurance or payed receipt) Then I asked to her me the manager but of course the manager wasn't here - it's left! Then I asked to talk to a doctor then and miraculously the doctor wasn't there also! Why then she tried to charge me for the doctor when there's no even doctor at the moment!! I would not recommend NasonCare. I witnessed them turn multiple people away from Covid testing because they didn't "sign up online" after all of them, including myself told the staff the the online tool was not working. One lady was pleading because she was very sick and a different doctor told her she needed to get tested ASAP. It was about 7:30 PM on a Saturday and NasonCare was one of the only places open. They still refused even though they had test available. So instead of telling them I needed a COVID test I told them I needed to see a doctor for my sinuses. This is true, I thought I had a sinus infection. Instead of checking out my sinuses they gave me a COVID TEST! After turning multiple people away who were asking for one. read more

They told my wife they couldn't get in contact with her, since we were waiting in our car, even though she called them twice and went in and ask in person twice at the reception desk. Let me start out by saying- ANY urgent care you go to... you will wait. And of course you don't feel good, so waiting isn't comfortable. But it's inevitable. So yes, I had to wait for my appointment while having a terrible migraine. So clearly I was extremely irritable, but the assistant caught on. When the PA came into the room, he sat down and just asked if I was okay. Of course I just want to get my covid test and go home, so I didn't quite appreciate it at the time. But after telling him more about my migraine and stress (and of course saying "I'm fine" 90 times) he asked if I needed a zofran script (which I def did) and the time to just sit down with me was something that stood out. Turns out I was an emotion mess because I was pregnant but didn't know at the time. So I must say, from the assistants to clinicians, I was treated with respect and also with compassionate care my emotional self didn't realize I needed until I went home. read more

This is an UPDATED review. I would have removed the bad review had they made this right but instead chose to tell me I am trying to BLACKMAIL them. LOL. I have known Barron Nason for many years and remember his having to pay over a million dollars to Medicare and Medicaid for FRAUD charges. The PA Ben that I saw sat in the cubicle smug and officious and proceeded to insist I take a medication I told him I WAS ALLERGIC TO. I went in today due to having a severe sore throat and dry cough, congestion and flu like symptoms,(Still have them) to see if it could be strep throat or something else ( AGAIN I STILL DONT KNOW). After paying $95 with the COVID exam included and an additional $22 for the strep throat test, I still feel like shit! The staff was very friendly and nice, the nurse who took my vitals and swabbed me had more interaction with me than the actual doctor. The doctor only came in asked what was wrong and heard my heart and chest and said just wait for us to contact you with your results and you're free to go. But he never said how my lungs nor heart sounded or even what other diagnosis might be. The result that they emailed me was supposedly negative for strep throat but again I still feel like shit! This is by far the best urgent care i have ever been to!!! From the front desk to the MA's and the Dr. and PA's. Every one was outstanding and by far the sweetest staff ever. I've been in to take a Covid test at this location twice the first time I went with my grandparents who have insurance I unfortunately don't have insurance they let us all go in together. they checked her blood pressure , did the tests , checked our breathing , spoke to us very nicely and respectfully, messed up on the rapid test and had to swob my nose twice because she put the swobs in the wrong tubes, the whole experience took about three hours 2 1/2 of which was spent in the waiting room . the second time I went to get a Covid test I was alone. Still no insurance but I think since this time I didn't have my grandparents with me they treated me a lot differently . the lady who came in took the test didn't even look me in my eyes the way they perform the test was different than my Blood pressure was never checked The doctor came in with an " I really don't want to be at work" face and hardly greeted me she checked my breathing and sent me out with a half assed exit greeting.
