There's always a litany of reasons, but typically, the most common unifier boils down to one element: the people involved. Unprofessional staff or say, more volatile family members or friends can make or break the experience and the memories. So, I'll stop before this gets too autobiographical and I'll add that, yes, this long-winded intro is my roundabout way of contextualizing Zhihan's amazing service: her amazing professionalism, excellent photography and, above all, her penchant for navigating trickier interpersonal waters were all highly appreciated by my wife and I (and my family!). Zhihan showed up 20 minutes before the time we originally gave her, and she immediately started getting a sense of the work ahead: which family members would be joining later, how many people were onsite at the courthouse that day, and she was also super-nice to our dog. From the first few minutes she started working, I could sense her warmth and enthusiasm. She got a sense of the relationship my wife and I share and sought to capture the essence of our relationship within that short amount of time. In between shots, she gave us enough room to breathe and acquiesced to our weirder demands while slowing down to give us honest, candid advice on which shots would work and what would work even better. I still look back on the great shots she took that day and I'm still all smiles. And then, the interpersonal aspect. I have two sets of step-parents, whose relationship to one another can be best described as poisonously lukewarm. Again, not trying to get too autobiographical (too late?), but it's a testament to Zhihan's intuitiveness and emotional intelligence. The way she worked to devote equal amount of time to each "faction" while ensuring the other group was being adequately communicated to for next shots really impressed me, and like I said, it really went a long way to putting some of my anxieties at ease. In summary, Zhihan was an absolute pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her for her professionalism, her passion, and most importantly, her empathy and ability to be a positive presence in an important family event. She was so…read morefriendly and personable, made all of the guests feel really comfortable - that seemed to be the key to getting them to forget she was there and just be natural, which is just what we wanted. I'm a photographer myself, so I was really picky about who we chose as The One for our big day - I'm really happy with my choice. Her style is very natural, and not at all cheesy or posed, and the woman as a wonderfully creative mind! She brought a vintage Polaroid camera and used that throughout the night, creating pictures with the Polaroids in them, and then also leaving me with a big stack of fun pictures to look at the next day!! Stephanie captured unusual angles too, but they didn't look like they were trying too hard to be artsy or cool - just a perfect blend of unique and natural. I can't say enough good things! To top things off, our whole wedding was posted and ready for us to see BEFORE we were back from our week long honeymoon. How awesome is that?! I started crying when I got to the end of the wedding pictures I got back from Stephanie because I…read morewasn't happy with A SINGLE ONE. They were all either completely out of focus, over-exposed, badly composed, or some combination of all the above. And I mean the posed photos are out of focus. What kind of professional photographer can't take a picture of people standing still in focus? She acted completely miserable at our wedding and I thought ok, she's unpleasant but hopefully the pictures would be ok. They're not. I would much rather leave her a 5 star review and have pictures of my special day I could cherish but now I'll have to rely on the couple of shots my friends took and always regret hiring Stephanie. I'm glad other reviewers were happy with their results and I don't know, maybe she was having a bad day, but I would hate for her to have a bad day at someone else's wedding and give them completely unusable photos like ours. He and his 2nd shooter, Monette, took photos at my wedding and captured the day beautifully! I did not really notice them throughout the day, but they got amazing shots of every moment, especially the details (which was really important to me because my husband and I made all of our own wedding decor, centerpieces, etc). The photos are truly breathtakingly gorgeous (and I'm not even trying to be all conceited about myself, but these photos are so beautiful). The photos are full of color and are nice and bright. Honestly, when people say pictures are worth a thousand words, I would say that each and every photo that I have received from Justin are worth that and more. Each of these photos capture a feeling and a special emotion that was felt on our wedding day. Honestly, I cannot say enough praises about Justin and Monette. They were friendly, very easy to work with, made both my husband and I laugh, along with our bridal and groomsmen party (which made for the best photos). Justin's rates are very affordable and really could probably charge more for what he does because you get so much more than what you pay for. What makes Justin even more amazing is that he got our photos ready after just 1 week after our wedding! Who does that? Michael is truly incredible!! From our first meeting with him it was a done deal. He has one of those instant calming personalities (brides trust me when I say you need this). The day of the wedding he met me and my ladies first (I'm sure most brides are aware the Wedding day of can get a little crazy). The bridesmaids, maid of honors and I were getting hair and makeup done, while getting dressed and so naturally our room got messy (just stuff everywhere). He was in our room taking pictures, making everyone laugh, reminding me to keep clam that we were doing great on time (I hate being late). He then went and took pictures of my Husband and groomsmen. He even managed to remove the price tag off the watch I bought my husband (I guess I got scatter brained and didn't remove it). When he returned to take pictures of me getting in my dress, he was so talented and helpful he even fixed the bow of my sash (my girls weren't doing a great job, ha-ha). The pictures of us getting ready are fabulous; it truly captures everyone having a great time. My bow was perfect and I have great pictures to prove it. At the ceremony he was everywhere (I only know this after reviewing the pictures). Every special moment of our vows, first kiss, gift to the Virgin Mary, and blessings were all captured exceptionally. He even got our parents, family, and friends' emotions to our vows. Reviewing each photo nearly brought me to tears, breathtaking and speechless are the best words I have to describe his work. I tried to sear each moment in my brain on our big day but the pictures were so well done I am able to relive it all!!! Bridal and bridal party portraits were fun and amazing. We had such great time and great pictures of my husband and me dancing, racing each other, and our glamour shots. I felt so pretty that day but looking at the pictures I look like a model and my husband my prince charming. I have a grin that splits my face from ear to ear in every picture. We have great full length, and close ups of my husband and I. Every detail of my bouquet, dress, and my husband boutonniere are beautifully depicted. At the reception he took pictures of the venue before it started, so we have great shots of the flowers, cake, candy station, and our guest during cocktail hour. Every moment was captured; our first dance, money dance, cake cutting, parents dance, and everyone having fun and dancing. I have a few favs of the reception, one would be of our first dance my husband and I are looking into each other's eyes, and the second would be of me flinging cake on my husband's face. Each picture are seconds captured in time. Looking over all the pictures for the photo album requires as much organization and patience's as planning the wedding! Doing this was as magical as our special day. My husband and I are truly pleased with our wedding day pictures. So pleased we used over 300 pictures in our wedding book (seriously so difficult because we loved them all). My advice to other brides, give your photography a reasonable/realistic budget (this is one of the few things you get to keep after the wedding). Second give Michael a call you will be glad you did. He's an extraordinary artist; every moment will be brilliantly captured.

We confirmed our venue McCormick Home Ranch on a day when there happened to be a freak rainstorm in the middle of July 2015 (el nino). The wedding didn't have any tenting or rain precautions and the next morning when we returned with the check to finalize our date, we anxiously asked what happened to their reception and rained out wedding. It turned out that was a wedding that Kelly was shooting for a good friend of hers from college! She met us for a consultation and wanted to show us the pictures from that wedding. The shots she was able to capture under the circumstances and limited windows were amazing! We knew at that moment that she not only had the talent to get the shots, but she also had the planning and coordination skills to keep the day moving along - which was a key factor for us since the day goes by so quick! She's professional, quick to respond and makes you feel so at ease in front of the camera, even if you're not used to being photographed. Our engagement photo session was super unique and she isn't afraid to get a little dirty to capture breathtaking moments that capture who you are as a couple.
