I've tried this restaurant about 4 times now. The customer service is great; friendly staff, and speedy service. The restaurant is spacious and overall clean. Although those things are great! I have to agree with some of the other reviews about the quality of the food. I can't quite figure out what it is but something is missing. The beans are always stiff and dry which can easily be seen from the picture. I've had creamier refried beans at other establishments so I know it's possible to achieve. The chicken seems dry and the rice lacks flavor. All of these aspects give the impression that the food is low quality. You can slap tons of sauce and cheese on top but it can't make up for what the other components are lacking. I really wanted this to be our go to Mexican cuisine however it has fallen short each time. Once again, the staff are REALLY nice and service is speedy. The food just lacks quality. read more

The worse meal I have ever been served in my entire life! I ordered the Mario's meatloaf and regretted it after the first bite. What was supposed to be bacon wrapped beef medallions was turned out as a gray substance the tasted as if it heated several times before and was plain nasty. I had another guy try some and the look on his face as he sampled it confirmed my doubt about the meal. It was obvious the by the mostly uneaten plate that it was gross yet, the waitress came by to check and saw my meal rejected, never inquired about the quality of the meal and was only asked if I wanted a to go box . Beto's Mexican Grill was definitely an experience that I am unsure if I would want to experience again. The service seemed preoccupied doing other things, even though there was only one other table there that had a customer. The waitress only came around when she took our order or when she came by to give us our check. The food to be to the point was very mediocre. The entire time I was thinking of other better restaurants that would give bigger portions as well as better tasting food for the same price if not cheaper. In general, I would not really recommend this restaurant unless you are just craving Mexican food and are right next door and can't wait to drive another 15 minutes to another one. read more

First impressions, the place is beautiful. Bright and cheerful building, very roomy. Drinks came out quickly and were super tasty! My roommate and I got the classic house margs. I hate to leave a negative review but this was not great. Ordered top shelf margaritas and they didn't even come until after our food was brought out. Thank you fellow yelpers!! We were debating Mexican or Italian food for our early dinner. With the help of reviews and looking at the menu Beto's won! It wasn't busy at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday. Decor is nice and not kitschy. We were seated right away. Tables are apart and the booths are every other. Masks are worn. Hubby ordered the crab enchiladas and I did the sour cream enchiladas. Salsa and chips came both nice and warm. Salsa a little spicy but you can handle it!! Hubby ordered a corona beer and it came with an icy glass AND the beer was awesomely cold! I took a sip and it was perfect! Food came out fresh and hot!! I mean the plates were super hot so don't touch. I accidentally touched my arm against it and came out of my seat. How the server handled it (he did warn me, I reached across the plate and my arm touched it) is miraculous. But he has probably been doing this a long time. Just please if there are small children be careful! Anywho, the food was deliciousness!!! Charro bean yummy to the tummy, rice not sticky or lumpy but perfect. I like to put my charro beans over my rice (the way I was taught by my Puerto Rican mother) with the avocado on top!! It hit the spot!! Service was very very attentive. Stopped in for an early dinner right off the plane. The salsa was different but very tasty. We started off with the guacamole. Normally we only order it if they do tableside guacamole, which they don't, but our waiter said they could make it chunky for us so we took a chance. We told him we like it spicy and It was perfect. Just the right amount of ingredients. I had the chile verde and my husband had the carne guisada. The chile verde had great flavor and the pork was nice and tender. I only gave them three stars cause it was too salty. My husband cleaned his plate if that's any indication of how much he enjoyed his meal. Came here with my son for lunch. Place was very nice and clean. Beautiful art work all over the place. Both salsa and chips were delicious! I ordered the chicken flautas expecting the thin rolled ones with shredded chicken. What I received was huge ones with huge chunks of chicken. The flavor was soooo good! Great red salsa! We put off going for a while bc it's kind of oddly placed, but the food was awesome and the service was good also!

Since moving back to Houston and living in the area we find ourselves here a lot. A little too embarrassed to tell you how often. Why do we like it? We are always greeted promptly. Seated quickly.
