If I could I would leave zero stars. The worst haircut of my sons life. He had 5-6 inch long hair and just wanted a tiny trim to keep his hair healthy. The barber took off AT LEAST 4 inches and didnt style the hair at all. NEVER going back to this place, and neither should you if you want a decent haircut, or want a barber that understands english and knows what you are asking for.​ read more

With my usual Hair Cuttery in Urbana all booked an only reservations now, I chose to give Nate's a chance. I will not be back to Hair Cuttery. Kai Kai at Hair Cuttery was the best until I had Trong at Nate's cut my hair. He was very detailed and meticulous. The best hair cut I have had. It is also a couple bucks cheaper than HC. Nate's has been my barbershop for over 4 years. It is a neighborhood barbershop that gives great haircuts! Michelle is my favorite. You will be glad you found this barbershop! Very consistent cuts. After only 3 cuts, she remembered my son's exact haircut after he was away for 4 months. read more

Deserves NO stars, I had not option there. BECAUSE.... Nate's Barbershop... HORRIBLE experience and will NEVER recommend them for a child's haircut. I decided to write this review while my son was getting his haircut. I thought it was time to take my almost 4 year old son to a "big boy" Barbershop. He has NEVER had a problem getting his hair cut, no crying and no issues. Once we get in there, he's ready to leave. I took that as "ready to go back to see Mrs. Michelle". I pushed on bribing with the iPhone. He sat in the chair (unwilling) and a lady was his stylist. We had to wait until she finished her hair in order for her to start cutting my child's hair. She was spraying her hair with water and brushing it out. I asked her to speed it up since my son was starting to calm down. What put me over the edge was when she started to trim the front of his hair/around the face. She just started coming at him (forehead) with scissors, she didn't put her hand underneath the hair to protect his eyes (from hair falling and poking his eyes out). I immediately shoved my hand under the scissors and scolded her a bit. I told her if she were to cut a child's hair in the future she need to pay more attention to what she was doing when working around the face. Who knows, a little one moves their head all of the time looking around. My son has his head on a swivel at times. I was PISSED, to say the least. To top it off, I took my son to the bathroom to get the hair clippings off of his face, NASTY bathroom. As soon as you opened the door, a very dirty/filthy/nasty toaster oven was in there, crap all over the place, and stuff shoved under the freestanding sink. Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. Also pricy for a little boys hair cut... $13 So... spare your child's eyes and go someplace else... Urbana Salon! We will be going back to see Mrs. Michelle at Urbana Salon. And, what ever happened to good ole barbershops? read more

Outstanding barbershop. Haircut quality is great. The hair cutters are quite nice, and the are pretty speedy , finishing haircuts within 30 minutes. There is rarely a wait and the price for the haircuts is quite reasonable. Overall, great shop with great quality and service. Perfect! read more

I am always a little nervous getting a haircut from a new barber. I usually "sacrifice" one of my boys to see if the barber's are any good. However, because of timing I had to bite the bullet and take chance with at Nate's. To my relief, I was very pleased with my haircut. Since that initial visit, my kids and I have been here many times with different barbers without any issues. Nate's has a good vibe, there is little wait (unless you want a specific barber)...but in my experience they are all pretty talented, and is a good value. I would definitely recommend Nate's. read more

In my opinion this is the best place to get your haircut in Urbana. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes and their place is clean, efficient, and professional. Whenever I go, Thu is the guy that cuts my hair. He's extremely meticulous but he does a great job. read more

We take my 92 year old father up here for a shave and a haircut. My dad loves the shave he gets here.... a little bit too much as he tends to not want to shave between visits. I guess we will get him up here more often! Great price, great service. read more

I have been going to Nate's for the last three years and with the exception of one time, I have never had to go back for a touch-up. The owner and staff are very nice. The prices are reasonable. My only complaint is the wait can be lengthy at times. Be patient or try to come back when they are less busy. read more

I have been having Michelle and Don cut my hair for 15 years plus. They are fantastic and truly nice caring people. The place gets busy but the wait is worth it. Excellent hair cut every time. Nate's is a great barber shop if you want a no-fuss and affordable experience. There's more than a handful of hair salons in Urbana but Nate's has been the best haircut I've had so far. I've rarely had to wait for a spot (unless you are partial to a particular barber - all of them are highly skilled BTW) and they're great with the kids as well. I take my two little boys with me and all three of us get cleaned up nicely for a fraction of what I used to pay for my haircut alone at some of the "fancier" salons. All in all just a classic barber shop where you won't be disappointed! read more

I wish I could rate this 0 stars. When I enter, the building is relatively clean and looks in good maintenance condition. However, the haircuts are a NIGHTMARE. The barbers carelessly snip off part of your hair, and every single time they do that one of my hairs gets pulled out, repeatedly stinging you. During the haircut, the barber (don't remember who) kept on making rude comments on how thick and oily my hair was. The barber also just pushed my head up when it needed to be moved, or asked in a very stern manner. I talked to my friend who went to this barber shop in the past as well, and he said that one of the barbers cut off part of his brother's EAR. I don't know how much worse you can get than that. read more

Terrible !!!! although people might like this place i strongly suggest not waisting your time and NOT to see Michelle !!!! if you do decide to go, She dose not know how to fade evenly and does not listen to how you want your hair cut !!! she is stuck in her ways and cuts it how she wants to !!!! im prity patient with people cutting my hair but she is just out right crappy ! if your looking for a good haircut dont go to this place read more
