So glad we got a second estimate. I contacted Nathan and asked if he would be available to give us an estimate for a pool gate at my house. He told me he could come on Wednesday, he came and met my husband. He gave us a quote for three different types of gates. After reviewing the other estimate we decided to go with Nathan. I was a bit hesitant to write this review because I knew going in that this might end up being a "you get what you pay for" type situation, and I feel like that is what I ended up with. This review mirrors the sentiments of Kristin M. below. I, too, will give two stars because the gate was installed the way we had requested it (layout wise) and also because I feel his son was a decent person to work with. 1. SCHEDULING ISSUES: The original appointment was set for 0800am on Thursday. I received a message two days before the installation that he made a mistake in his calendar and that the installation will be on Friday at 0800am instead. Nathan and his son arrived to start working past 1000am, more than two hours late (like the other comments below regarding his tardiness, he will likely comment something about not being able to control traffic, etc.) Likely not a big deal for those who stay at home, but a big deal for those who take off work to wait for service to arrive at the date and time agreed. 2. INSTALLATION ISSUES: My wife asked Nathan not to drill too close to the edge of the brick steps, but he did. A piece of brick broke off from the bottom of the step because of this. Several of the posts have a strong "bow" or bend to them. When I questioned this to his son, he deferred to his father, who then said it works off of tension and that bow is natural. The bend in these bars is very unsightly and if you have even a shade of OCD it'll drive you insane. 3. PRICE ISSUES: Nathan did not honor the 5% discount he posts on his YELP! page. I asked him why he wouldn't honor it and he said it's only for the Winter seasons. I asked him why he keeps the offer posted on his page then and he said he needs to take it off. Any other company concerned with customer service would have applied the 5% because it's posted on their site. I told him one of the main reasons I chose him was because of his price and the 5% off. False advertising/bait-and-switch. 4. TRASH: Nathan did not properly clean the site after he left. There are still bits and pieces of concrete leftover from when he drilled holes into the ground for the post. He left the water bottles he drank in my backyard. Like another reviewer posted, he used his hose to spray the dust/dirt/concrete INTO MY POOL instead of strategizing where to spray away from it. Why would someone spray concrete bits into someone else's pool? I specifically watched him do this because I remember what the other reviewer posted. I had a total of 4 companies come out to give an estimate on the pool fence and Nathan's was the cheapest. Like I said above, "you get what you pay for". Some other reviewer questioned his licensing and I wouldn't argue with that reviewer and his/her experience with him. The next highest up quote-wise was $100 and, in hindsight, I would go with that option for peace of mind and proper business practices. If all you need is a fence and don't care where it is made or who installs it, go with lowest price. If you care about longevity and having someone on the other line who actually cares, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The only reason why I didn't give ONE star was because his son was respectful and shook my hand after completing the job. Nathan was upset that I asked for the 5% off and stormed off the job without saying goodbye. read more

They showed up very early and spent close to 2 hours drawing and chalk-lining the design of the fence before any holes were drilled.
