Securely installed in grass, providing a strong safety barrier while keeping your yard open and attractive. - In this photo series you will see a complete mesh pool fence installation built directly on a grassy surface. This project highlights the right way to install a fence in grass while keeping the finished look neat and secure. Site preparation and layout The process began with careful planning. Before any sleeves or footings were placed, the grass was cut and removed in clean sections to mark where each pole would be installed. This creates a precise line for the fence and prevents damage to the surrounding yard. The layout uses gentle curves instead of sharp angles. Sharp turns are difficult in grass, so smooth curves create a cleaner look and help the installation go more smoothly. PVC sleeves and concrete footings PVC sleeves were arranged on the ground to show the exact spots for each fence post. These sleeves guide the placement of the PVC sleeves and concrete work that follows. Once the positions were confirmed, concrete was poured to form solid footings. The sleeves sit inside the concrete, creating a secure foundation for the removable aluminum poles. Round terminating post in grass In one section a round terminating post was used to make a 90 degree turn. This type of post makes a clean transition and holds the mesh securely. It also reduces stress on the mesh where the fence changes direction. In-progress details Some photos show the job while still in progress. PVC pipe is extending from the freshly poured concrete footings. These pipes mark where the aluminum poles will go and show how the fence structure is anchored. Mesh and hardware When the structure is ready, the mesh panels are installed between the poles. The 3-person Tylo sauna was pricey, $12k. Paid an additional $750 for delivery & assembly as well as $500 for freight...so about 10% extra surcharge. For $1250 extra in addition to the cost of my sauna, I expected a better experience. When the unit was delivered, my neighbor who is a general contractor was in the garage with the delivery team, watching their assembly while I was busy inside the house. When the team told me the assembly was finished, my neighbor pointed out to them that the entire unit is visibly dusty / dirty as well as the glass door seal being (1) too short on one side and (2) messed up on the other side...plus a blemish on the black wood board. I overheard one of the team members mumbling about my neighbor to the other member while getting these issues resolved, which I thought was a bit unprofessional. All my neighbor asked was for an expensive ticket item to be properly delivered, assembled and presented...very sad that the delivery team seems to think this is a big ask for a pricey sauna. I called Coastal about the door seal being short and spoke to Susan. She said she will talk to the manufacturer and get back to me... she never did. Quite a disappointing experience with Coastal. Update: Oh, just noticed that the delivery team didn't even screw the heater into the sauna wall properly. Two of the four support screws were half exposed...they are specialty screws so I don't have the tools to screw them into the wall fully so have to probably hire someone to do it or buy the right tools. What a joke...paid $1250 extra for this type of service.

The women's soaking pools are also spacious. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. The jjimjilbang rooms were noticeably cooler than I remembered. Most of them were barely warm enough to make me sweat, and even the hottest room didn't feel hot at all. At first, I assumed something was malfunctioning, which I would have completely understood. However, I asked the front desk and was told that these are going to be their regular temperatures moving forward because they had been cited by the health department for the rooms being too hot. I understand that they have to comply with health department requirements, but for someone who specifically comes here for the traditional Korean sauna experience, this completely changes the experience for me. If I'm going to a sauna, I expect to sweat. The LA weather outside honestly feels hotter than some of the sauna rooms now. It's unfortunate because iSpa used to be worth the hour-plus drive for me, and I genuinely loved coming here. The atmosphere is still beautiful and unique, but without the heat I expect from a Korean sauna, I don't think I'll be making the drive back.

      After tolerating several different fencing companies and the variety of job estimates, we were…read morepleasantly surprised when we met Josh Tucker of AJM Construction. A Company that his father founded over 40 years ago, providing a variety of construction services. Josh made an appointment within a few days and was extremely professional and knowledgeable in providing an estimate via email the same day. The terms of partial payments were in accordance with State Contractors law and regulations. I mention this because we had two estimates that wanted 50% or more up front which is a huge flag and also illegal. Having a shared rear yard fence replacement done means coordinating with your neighbors. Josh was easily agreeable in meeting with our neighbors at their convenience and providing separate billing invoices for the shared costs. After scheduling almost 3 1/2 weeks later we had an installation date. Suddenly I was hospitalized and this meant my wife was very busy. I felt confident, as did she, having Josh and his crew go ahead with the work without any immediate supervision from us. For the 3 1/2 days the crew worked incredibly well in making sure everything was handled. This was a great relief to both my wife and I. Another plus was Josh and his crew handling everything. With Josh on site each day, they removed the old wooden fence, trimmed tree branches that were obstructing the new fence line, and chipped out the older post concrete. The post holes were widened, new pressure treated posts set, followed by new concrete poured to above grade to prevent wood rot. With the string line up, new redwood fencing was assembled after being primed. Once up, the fence was painted with two additional coats of two different paints. White for my neighbors to match his side fences and an off white matching our stucco retaining wall below the fence line planter. Great care was taken by the crew to cover all plant life and trees from paint and damage. We would highly recommend Josh and his family business for any of your Construction needs. The crew of Josh, Trinidad, and Alberto were extremely clean, professional, kind and thorough in their work on our fence and surrounding property.

We specifically chose RAMCO as our contractor for our front yard hardscape replacement and ended up hiring them for plumbing and draining issues when we found out they do just about everything! RAMCO addressed 27 years of rain runoff and the dysfunctional sprinkler system, avoiding the need for a new one by repositioning pipes and ensuring proper water flow. I asked him for in person estimation and he says what he gives online is the price you get. Next day a worker named Alonzo comes over to go over the project. Measures out 64 ft quoted me $4686 for fence work and $1100 more for staining. I remeasured 3 times and it comes out to 57 ft, Alonzo calls and he denies making a mistake and says the cost is higher because of tariffs. Regardless of the 7 ft difference the cost discrepancy was $2200 than what Jorge provided.
