Even though their price was higher and I had to wait a month for the installation, the vinyl fence looks good and they even threw in a small back section for free. I appreciate the quality of the actual build. ​However, the process to get the finishing details completed was a bit frustrating. During the tear-out, they cut back my existing fencing and left a gap in the perimeter. They also drilled some unnecessary holes into my home's stucco when installing the gate and left them unpatched. ​When I contacted management about these issues, they initially tried to upsell me a $700 repair. They eventually offered to come out and fix the gap as a courtesy, but due to some scheduling disorganization, workers showed up unexpectedly twice without completing the work. ​Fortunately, they returned today and fully resolved everything by filling the gap and sealing the stucco holes. They do nice work on the fence itself, and while their communication and scheduling could use some improvement, I appreciate that they ultimately followed through and made things right. read more

We worked with Robin as the sales representative for two fence installations and were prepared to move forward with a third. Robin was professional and pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, everything went downhill once we had to deal with Alvaro during the installation process. Alvaro was shockingly low-class, rude, and outright disgusting in his behavior. His attitude was aggressive, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The way he spoke and carried himself was unacceptable and left us feeling disrespected and disgusted. Because of his conduct, we immediately canceled the installation and will never do business with this company again. We will also never recommend them to anyone. Reached out to CalVet for a new fence topper and gate. I also needed some repair of my brick wall. The scope of the job changed as the days went on so they were very flexible and accommodating.. I had several crew members come on different days to do the work. I wasn't able to go with the most recommended fix due to my budget, but they nailed what they said they were going to do. The value was great for what they did. On the first day, they repaired some of the bigger cracks in my brick wall. On the 2nd day, they replaced all my broken caps. And lastly, they added the gate and the topper. Everything looks great. Functions well. Everything was left clean. The crews were all kind and showed up at the expected time. We needed to update our gates badly. We had old wooden termite infested fences that were falling apart. I hopped on yelp to get some quotes. Erik was the first on three to respond. We set up meetings with all three companies to compare. The first two companies were outrageously expensive. I wasn't able to meet Erik when he came for our estimate so my husband met with him. We had planned to get gates with color (maybe gray or tan) to match the house. The last thing I wanted was plane white gates...blah. I talked to my husband after the meeting he said Erik recommended white - saying that white would compliment our house the best. He explained to me why Erik thought this would be best. Knowing Erik is the professional and has seen many gates and house combinations I thought, he knows better than we do. We decided to go with white fences and I couldn't be happier. They look crisp but not too bright and they definitely are not blah. Erik and his crew were great from start to finish. He steered me clear of keypad locks due to the possibility of malfunctioning. I like when business genuinely care about their customers and their experience instead of just the bottom line. CalVet Fence did a great job replacing my old broken fence damaged by the city tree from the heavy rains we had a few months ago. Erik was very easy to talk to discussing our options and we took his suggestion on having the fence pieces in between posts to be horizontal style compared to the picket style that we previously had. He recommended the horizontal would help accentuate our house siding. He did the measurements and in short time emailed us a quote. After getting a couple other quotes from others we also found on Yelp that with being a veteran we decided on CalVet. About a week later the crew led by Gama started and a couple days later they were done and the fence is up looking fantastic. Erik was very polite, the workmen he sent out were as well, although they left their lunch trash behind on Day 1. There were a few delays with the warehouse giving them the wrong parts, one fence post was cracked, etc. Then we thought they were done, but they left a HUGE mess, and even left a package of fence posts behind. They did come back the next day and clean up, and take the extra fence posts back. Erik was meant to come back with some small parts - he texted us, said he was coming, then never showed. Once we made the final payment, we heard nothing. It's a shame that they didn't end on a good note - it's like they lost enthusiasm for the job toward the end or something! We did get our fence, but the follow-through. was poor. read more

I was torn between a 3 or 4 star review. I would've done 3.5 if I could. The business is very responsive to communication via Yelp. However, it seems that once a sale is made, communication is no longer a priority. The fence installation was scheduled quickly, and the price was about 20% less than the other quotes we had. Day of installation the team was about 40 minutes late without any communication. After several phone calls we got ahold of someone. It seems they worked for just a bit, leaving before I got home (despite talking to them about connecting to review the work when I got home.) They ended up finishing the work on day two. It turns out the crew cut the internet conduit and caused an area outage that we are now needing to fix with the internet provider, so that wasn't great to find out. The fence looks pretty good. Can't decide if the lower price point was worth all this or not. read more

Calvet Fence of Brea, CA, was contracted to replace an existing joint fence between my neighbor and myself. My neighbor, who handled the contract, asked that it be a duplicate of the current fence, which included 4x1 inch trim. At first glance I was happy with the work and told Robbin that the men showed up on time, were very clean and seemed to be skilled craftsmen. However after inspecting my neighbors side, I noticed two distinct problems. The trim on my neighbors side has 1 inch thick boards while my side has 3/8 of an inch board. We paid exactly the same amount, therefore I should be entitled to the same materials and workmanship. Why the difference? I contacted Calvet Fence and spoke with Alvaro Garcia, the sole proprietor, regarding the difference in the board sizes. At first I was told that they could put in more screws. Again, I said I wanted the 1" boards like my neighbor. I was told there wasn't room. However I sent a picture with tape measure showing that there was in fact 1.5". I was then told that 4x1 boards could be installed, but I would have to pay more. I paid the same as my neighbor, therefore I should be entitled to the same trim. Another difference that I noticed is that dirt was pushed up against the bottom trim on my side of the fence. I questioned Alvaro if this was a problem. He replied that it was OK for redwood to be in contact with the ground. For 46 years prior there has always been a gap between the fence and the ground. This should have been duplicated in your fence. Your own EverFence website notes "Avoid direct ground contact - A quality wood fence installation should not come in contact with the ground except at the posts." Digging away the dirt from the fence trim revealed that about 8 of the vertical boards extended beyond the trim and into the ground. Why were these boards not cut to proper length? Why was dirt pushed up against my side of the fence to obscure these boards? See picture. This is not Calvet's best work and definitely not the caliber of workmanship Matt Sivewright had in mind when he founded EverFence in 2020. These two issues need to be resolved at no additional expense to me. Thank you. read more
