I was fortunate to have the door latch of my microwave oven fixed for a fraction of the cost of buying a whole new door (around $150 on Amazon). I took the non-functioning door into the repair shop, as it's easily portable and the cost of having a repairman out to the house is more expensive. Within a few days I had a new latch system installed into the door. Around $25. I picked up the door and was able to pop it back into the joint. Very glad to have my microwave back, and only out a little money. Customer service was smooth. Debbie told me over the phone the projected cost. No surprises at the end. I'd call them back if I had another appliance repair to be done. read more

This shop was a life saver for our GE Monogram Speedcook oven when the magnetron failed a month after its 10 year warranty. Most appliance repair shops here in Toronto only do in home service, about $200 just to visit, but cannot get parts for our US model appliances - we were told by a local shop we'd have to buy a new one for $2500-3500 and modify our cabinetry to fit it. NAS took in our oven, diagnosed it in an hour, advised a $230 repair, and had it ready to go in 5 days. Well worth driving to Buffalo, this shop is a great resource. read more

The owner reached out to me after my 1-star review and offered me a free diagnosis (normally about $20) one year after my Kitchen-Aid mixer seemed to have the same problem I spent over $100 repairing a year later. I appreciated that offer and took it in for the diagnosis. The diagnosis was that it was a different problem (a loose screw for which the entire machine head had to be taken apart) for $30. I was told the machine was ready and that I owed $30 without ever being asked if I wanted the work done. I also think the loose screw should have been discovered or at least tightened with the larger work done a year earlier. Nonetheless, I must give the owner a lot of credit for reaching out to me and making her offer. I paid the $30 and now have a second mixer! (having ordered a first one when she first said they wouldn't look at it again without a fee, and I assumed it was the same problem as a year ago). read more

As a journeyman refrigeration mechanic I have to say that Debbie probably forgot more than I'll ever know about appliances, I have never received an incorrect part when I have provided the correct information, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful as well. A burner on our Frigidaire range only worked on high. We researched the problem and determined that the switch was defective. We called National Appliance and explained the burner switch was defective. We scheduled an appointment and the repairman came and confirmed that we needed a new switch but due to the pandemic none was available and probably wouldn't be available for quite some time. He then proceeded to charge us $81.51 for the service call. Outrageous. He knew we needed a new switch. He checked on the availability of the switch and came on the service call for a new switch without the part. Unreasonable at best, but in our opinion unethical. It took the repairman more time to write up the bill then it took him to confirm that we did in fact need a new switch. read more

If I could give zero, I would give zero. Our dishwasher is leaking. A slow, inconsistent leak. But it leaks. We alerted the landlord who lives in NYC and she arranged to have a repairman come to check out the situation. Not sure how she found this company, but I am going to suggest she check out Yelp reviews before looking for any additional service. Down and dirty: First of all, I think "Debbie" has got to go. The two other 1 star Yelp reviews that are listed as of today are also complaining of this "older blonde lady" and her stinky customer service and attitude...and I can fully attest to this as well. Second, as a manager, her approach with customers and overall disposition is passed down to her employees, whether she realizes it or not. And this is apparent by the customer service we received in our HOME from the repair man who made the service call. Long-winded version: After choosing the service center, our landlord gave us the number and asked us to make the call to set up a convenient time. The person on the phone asked the normal questions...What's the issue, what time works for you, yadda yadda. After explaining at length the situation with our dishwasher (slow leak shortly after the cycle is over, drains a few trails of water across the floor, something is definitely wrong, but we already tried changing the gasket, etc etc) we were told that the repairman would stop by on Tuesday of the following week. No specific time was given--although that is sort of understandable because it is all based on the appointments for that day. Tuesday comes...we get a call from the repairman alerting us he will be there shortly. The call was appreciated. He comes in, gruff. Heads straight to the kitchen and starts a cycle. When my husband told him the leak doesnt start until after the cycle is over, the repairman lost it. "Well why didn't you tell me that, if you had told me that I would have not come right now. How am I supposed to find the leak if it doesn't happen until after the cycle is over. I don't have time to sit here and wait. Why didn't you tell this to the lady on the phone, etc etc etc." It took several attempts for my husband to explain to him that he DID tell the woman on the phone but she said nothing of having to run the cycle prior to him coming to check it out. Even still, the service man didn't seem to care. What is interesting is that he sat on our kitchen floor for about an hour waiting for the cycle to go through. JUST AS IT WAS ABOUT TO FINISH, he declares he has to move on to his next appointment without actually waiting to see where the leak comes from. My husband questioned why he wouldn't just stay and wait it out and he was brushed off. He also questioned what the next step was because he was concerned our landlord would get charged for the serviceman hanging out on our floor for an hour, rather than actually diagnosing any problems. Would he come back a second time and charge twice?? They argued about this back and forth for a few minutes and I could hear my generally calm, cool, and collected hubby getting more and more frustrated. As soon as he left, my husband called the service center to explain the situation. The woman who answered ("Debbie") was just as argumentative and combative. She TOTALLY stuck up for the service mans poor attitude, and actually made it worse by throwing personal digs at my husband. "The service man would not mean to give you attitude. Obviously the dishwasher is not broken if there is no leak. You are being condescending." etc etc etc. I sat and listened to the entire conversation between the two of them. I assure you he was not (and has NEVER been in the 14 years I have been with him) condescending to this lunatic on the phone. I know "Debbie" is the manager, but I wonder who the actual owner is and if he or she knows the frustration the face of their company is causing their customers. I think this one can be chalked up to them being miserable people. And a quick google search of various other review sites confirms what my fellow Yelpers are claiming is the straight-forward truth. No wonder they have a "D" rating on the BBB. All 5 complaints on the BBB are because of Service...which is so ironic, considering their entire business is built on service! After speaking with our landlord, we have no other choice but to let them try to come back to fix it because they are going to charge regardless....but we learned our lesson the hard way....ALWAYS YELP THAT SH!T BEFORE YOU CALL SOMEPLACE NEW!!! ;) read more

I would like to express my dissatisfaction in the manner in which I was treated by the elderly blonde woman who was rude and snide from the moment I entered to the store to pick up my 1/2 time microwave oven. Not only was I treated very disrespectfully by this person. To add injury to insult she and the service man took great pains to insult me about the brand of microwave I had just paid more than a 130.00 to have repaired. The service man treated my questions indifferently when I attempted to ask him questions about what may have caused the damage (to avoid a return trip). He was flippant in his response to me, as if I were bothering him. I would not recommend them to anyone. How i wish i would have looked at there reviews before calling this company , I had a handyman that works for me take the dishwasher out to determine the problem . and why it was leaking , we called and spoke with a lady and tried to describe problem , at that point we determined it needed a motor and pump assembly ,she did say that it would have to be ordered , However she did mention another part it could be and if so the service person !! if thats what you would call him would have that part on the truck . Well this person shows up in a beat up van no company lettering , and gets out carrying a little red tool box that look like a fishing box , he came in the house with wet feet , no pad to but on the new hardwood floor , lays on the floor takes bottom plate off telling me he cant see the leak , i said to him you may want to pull the dishwasher out to determine the problem ?? finally he spots the leak and tells me it need a new pump assembly and that its a big job and he has to pull it out and flip it over to get to the part , and it had to be ordered ,He was there a total of five minutes telling me I owed him 70.00 and did not seem interested in coming back to fix it .. I called another company they came over with proper tools , pads for the floor put the part in without having flip over the dishwasher. National appliance Service poor !!! read more

I used the National Appliance Service. Initially, the first women didn't have a grasp on parts because I kept explaining to her what we needed and she asked me the same questions several times. And then quest what, she ordered the wrong part. I then dealt with ​more knowledgeable women who seem to be Nice when giving information. However, ordering the part the second time seems cumbersome at best. My Brotherinlaw was doing the fixing and when the part came back the second time.I called to make sure he removed the right part. The Women I spoke with, who I found out later was the owner, which is the same woman I spoke with last, told me that you people seem to have a hard time following instructions.I told her that you People is a derogatory statement. She then said it wasn't I told her it is. She said it wasn't I said not only is it a derogatory statement its origin is Racial by nature. She said I was playing the race card. I tried to educate her on using that word you people and also her insinuation that you people have a hard time with following directions as tho we are less of the intelligent sort. She ignored me totally and reiterated it wasn't racial. People who don't respect you shouldn't get your money people. read more

So rude and Awful service, I was told that by older blonde lady that I was not able to return a stove element because she told me that on the receipt it says no returns. The day before she up sold it to me when I really did not want it. My mistake for believing her advice that It was was crucial for me and she must of forgot to tell me we have no a return policy. I had brought in a dehumidifier to this place in Aug. 2015. After not hearing from them a month later I called & was told they were waiting for a part. Another month goes by, call them again, still waiting for that part. I phoned the store each month after that, same story. Finally, six months later--Jan. 2016, I call again. Still waiting for the part. I told the mgr. I'll just take the dehumidifier and bring it somewhere else. I asked for my deposit of $21.00 back since I was inconvenienced w/out this appliance for six months. She tells me "not gonna happen" and explained the deposit is for the diagnostic. I told her maybe if I report this to the Attorney General's office. She said to go right ahead. One hour later she calls me & said the part will be available in a few days. I declined to have it repaired there, not only because of the ridiculously long wait but for this woman's extremely rude attitude to me.
