We've had Toyota 4runners, Range Rovers, Tahoe, suburbans, lexus, BMW convertible - and we only trust Ron and his mechanics to work on all our cars. The special sauce to Speedline is Ron and his honesty along with skill. This is an industry that can easily take advantage of people, but Ron will NEVER do that. Can't tell you how many times he tells me I don't need tires or work done, etc. In fact, when we were in LA for 2 years, something didn't feel right in the car (Suburban) as we drove the I-5 highway for 6 hours to Sonoma. Instead of pulling into a gas station or mechanic along the way, we pulled over and called Ron. He told us exactly what to do and what not to do- and then exactly what to do once we got to our destination. When our safety was at risk - we called Ron; nobody is more honest, trustworthy. I've also sat in his lobby while waiting for repairs on my car(s) many times. My experience every time I've witnessed a customer complain or even yell at Ron (or his employees) are those that are rude, demanding and likely have unreal expectations - no matter where they go. The repair cost seemed fair, though on the higher end of the expected range. One issue came up afterward: when I picked up the car, the tire pressure light was on. I initially assumed it was nothing serious, but by the following evening, one tire was completely flat. To be clear, I understand there's no way to know for sure whether the tire was damaged while the car was at the shop or while I was driving it home or the following day. I genuinely acknowledge that uncertainty. That said, the timing concerned me. I took the car to Just Tires, where I had purchased all four of the tires in 2022. I was told that the flat tire could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. Replacing two tires, which is fairly typical (depending on tread wear and matching) was recommended. The total cost, including tax and installation, was about $575. I discussed the situation with Ken Papas at Ashland Tire, and I appreciate the way he handled it. He didn't dismiss my concern, but he also fairly pointed out that neither of us could pinpoint when the damage occurred. He offered $150 toward the replacement cost, which I accepted. I think that was a reasonable, good-faith gesture, even though covering the cost of one tire would have felt more satisfying. I'm leaving a positive review because the exhaust issue has been resolved (so I assume the original repair was done correctly) and because Ken handled an uncertain situation professionally. The service at Berman's Infiniti was $2,499 plus tax. Avondale did everything and more for $1,260. HALF! It included replacing every fluid - oil, brake, trans, differential, coolant - plus all filters, tire rotation, throttle cleaning, and more. I had the car in at 8:30 and it was done by 4:00. I've waited at Berman's 3 hours just to get an old change and tires rotated. Not only that, but the guys there were great to deal with, especially Nabor. I'm moving out of state soon, but if I wasn't this would be the only place I would take my car. I cannot recommend Avondale Auto Repair highly enough. Make it 6 stars.
