I would definitely patronize this business again! I got fast, professional, high quality service, at a very low price; and, they were genuinely kind. I found them by searching online, and I called ahead and drove in on a spare tire without an appointment. Nin and Tony were able to look at the flat tire I took out of the trunk, fix it, and put it back on my car within a half hour of my getting there. They also looked at the spare I drove in on during that time, because it was flat by the time they reinstalled the regular tire. Though the spare couldn't be repaired because of where the damage was on it, Nin referred me to a tire place he likes, and told me who to ask for by name. He also suggested I could ask that place if I can get a discount on a new spare if I trade in the old one. I don't expect to get seen so fast by a service provider, without an appointment, and then pay nothing, but that's what happened. They didn't charge me, but I gave them a tip anyway. I'm writing this 10 days after the repair, and the tire is still good as new. I'm very grateful for the service! read more

We're big fans of Lincoln Wilson Auto Service. We've used Tony for several repairs since we moved to the neighborhood in 2019. He is honest and reliable, plus he's a really nice guy. They have been honest from the first interaction, advising us something was better handled by a transmission shop. I've even overheard them telling other clients that work was unnecessary. Its skilled, educated top mechanics in diagnostics, getting the parts quickly and doing the labor in one's car methodically, with precision and utmost commitment to the job at hand (big, or small) it will be perfect! Been going there for a couple of years and have always delivered. First and foremost for is that they are beyond honest in what a car needs and what is quoted is fair and guaranteed. Never felt that I've been gouged, or pad a bill, or suggest work that's not needed. They go by the book including that of the higher powers. Owning a car is necessary for so many reasons, and its repair-maintenance can be costly. What makes an investment in a car a good one, is a wise choice in buying a quality, top rated brand car if a new one. We all know teh brands that are better than others, and if in doubt, ask the Lincoln-Wilson guys before you buy, who are always available when you call to answer your questions - the relationship to a customer is number one! I feel as if that's their number one rule! If you buy a used car, it's always a good idea to have an inspection by a mechanic you know and trust. A antique car collector recommended Lincoln Wilson to me,, when I bought my new Mini Cooper in 2011. The closest Mini auto repair was 20 miles away, so I gave them a try. I called about my car, which had just received its 2nd jump in about 12 hours, and they said I could bring it right over. They took a look right away and were able to assure me the battery and alternator were both still in fine working order. The much-cheaper-to-fix issue was the negative battery terminal was loose. They were able to secure it well enough to avoid any immediate issues, but advised I'd need a new one from Hyundai, which they could then install. I've been meaning to write this review for a few months, but here we are finally! As newbies to Chicago, it is important to find your "guy" for everything from home repairs to car repairs. Second day in Chicago, and someone clips my left read end and with seconds, there's quite a bit of damage. Not the best way to start an introduction to the new city. I've been bringing our vehicles to Tony at Lincoln Wilson for twenty years. First a 1984 Mercedes Turbodiesel, than a Mini Cooper, later a Honda Pilot and now my 2018 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. The truck has almost 130,000 miles on it as once or twice a week I do a round-trip to rural Wisconsin where we have a farm. I thought it was probably smart to bring it in and have Lincoln Wilson go to the truck just to identify and fix anything that was wrong. I dropped off the truck with Tony this morning. This afternoon he called me and said "TJ is nothing wrong with this truck, it's in great shape..." There was no charge. I have been here twice with two different cars and had great experiences both times. I brought my very sad old Ford Focus here a few years ago and they were very honest about breaking down what needed to be fixed and what I could do without. The car was on it's last legs and I asked them to fix just what I needed for it to be safe to drive for a couple more weeks. I appreciated them not pressuring me to pour money into a car I was getting rid of soon anyway. Flash forward to today - my Ford Escape had something visibly hanging down on the front undercarriage. I took it in and they told me a bolt was missing from the cover, probably from an oil change (thanks for nothing, Jiffy Lube). The employee fixed it in less than 10 minutes and refused to even charge me. I will add that he was also very nice and wore a mask properly the whole time I was there. Not only did they figure out what was wrong with my car (and went into great detail to explain what was wrong) but they also noticed that my brakes needed to be replaced. The price was fair as well. This is a bit late from my visit to this place. I was taken care of quite well. The owner (? ) was accommodating with my request that I wait for the service to be done on my brake flush (which was mentioned with another review) Normally, you'd drop off something that is more complex for them to service without waiting around but since I was new and nervous with having someone else work on my car he was kind and understanding. The service was done within the time promised (actually earlier as they teamed up to get it done ASAP which is a plus) on price promised and with the quality that I would expect. I am easy going with most businesses as long as they properly communicate and live up to their promises the majority of the time. When something does come up (in car repair and other things as well) from time to time, it is essential that the business works hard to communicate and explain the issues and resolve them. I feel this place with the reviews and my interaction with the owner (?) will do this. I am a person that will stay with a company that serves their customers well. I have been with a previous service company since the late 1990's and only started searching out someone else due to improper treatment at a dealer (other review) and the retirement of the previous service company business. read more

My daughter is in college, long way from home and our regular mechanic. When we had an engine light problem, we called Tony. I was very hopeful to find a good mechanic for her 2006 Toyota and I am convinced we have. This was the type of situation where some less ethical shop could have suggested a lot of unnecessary work. Not only did he look at the car within a day, but he explained exactly what he did and why and what to watch out for. Went to get my vehicle checked out as it was making a rumbling sound when driving. They took my car for a test drive and even put it on the lift for inspection but couldn't find the root cause of the problem. So I took it somewhere else, and there they where able to quickly diagnose it as wheel bearing problem. I am not sure if the mechanics here aren't experienced enough or what? I wasn't charged but i did have to take it somewhere else, not sure if they're really pros for not catching something so simple to a different mechanic. read more

Found these guys on Yelp. Close to where I lived, good reviews-thought I found my new mechanics. My rearviewmirror was fixed by an out sourced glass guy by them- was reasonable though done a bit sloppy. Didn't judge them for it-not their work. Just went in for a tune up service & my air pressure tire light is on. They quoted $800 for tune up & front brake job?!!?!! When I asked for price break down, he got flustered. Red flag. Said the front brakes cost $440 (ish) and I asked how much oil change & tune up costs were- got that down to $350 ish. That's for basic oil change, filters & spark plugs. I've never paid over $350 for front brakes & confirmed with another mechanic that he could do it for that cost. Needless to say I'm getting brakes done elsewhere. Unfortunately I committed to the tune up. Wonder what I paid $350 for really? Was it also overpriced? I do know my check tire pressure light was on still when I left even though I asked them to check that too. they told me to drive my car around for awhile & the light will go off. Its 24 hours later and the check tire pressure light is still on even though I've driven it around. If u want overpriced & half ass work done, this seems to be the place for you-not me. Brought my car in for a tire repair and was in and out before I had to log into work. They were quick, easy to talk with, and nice. While I was there I got a quote for some other work that needed to be done on my 2007 Toyota. After spending the last 5 years looking for a reliable and honest mechanic, I think I've found the place. I recently brought my car in on a Friday evening after it started shaking on the highway - a repair I was sure would cost me thousands.
