What a joke!! Buying a car here is for the masochistic, if you like putting yourself in pain then go here to get your car. We went here because of there cash for clunkers deal they were running during the spring. We wanted to look at cars that had all wheel drive and a back seat, to which they only showed us ONE vehicle and refused to shows any others. We got stuck in a Ford that they had not even bothered to clean before showing for a test drive. The gas tank was on empty so our test drive was a whole 2 minutes long, just drove around the car dealerships in the area. We decieded to get the vehicle because it was pretty nice besides the fact it was dirty on the inside and out. We sat in the dealership for 4 hours after we decided on that vehicle for them to do the financing, totally understandable! After the financing was complete the told us we would be receiving a call from the financing company about payments in about a week once it is all finalized. Well a week goes by and nothing. Then after we have had the car for 10 days we get a call from the finacing manager at NAP to say we need to come back in to get a different vehicle because the financing had fallen through. We come back in and then sat there for 2 hours waiting to be seen by the financing manager. They make is sound like they cut us a "deal" and knocked $3k of the price of the vehicle and we were good to go. We didnt have to sign anything at all. It was a waste of a trip to make with an infant to not even have to sign anything that could have been done over the phone. Also about a week after this whole mess the vehicle needed an oil change so I took to Riverton where the told us the brakes, and battery were going out and would need to be replaced within a month. They literally didnt even inspect this vehicle or anything before putting a family in it Never going there again, we are only buying cars from Riverton Chevorlet where they treat you like family. read more

Super sketchy business practices. I purchased a car from them about 3 years ago. Out of the blue I get a voice mail saying "this is Matt Scott general manager leaving you this message because the owner of our store just sent me an urgent email regarding the vehicle you purchased from us. I already printed the email and sent it to you in the mail but give a call as soon as possible and I'll fill you in personally." The message made it sound like something bad was going on so I called right away. I was sent to Matt's assistant and when I told him I got this urgent message the first thing he said was not to worry that nothing was wrong. They just wanted me to come in and they would give me $3k more to trade back in my vehicle... So I questioned his business practices and told him that what he was doing is shady and then the asshole just hung up on me. I honestly had a good experience when I bought my car and being a traditional person and valuing loyalty I had every intention to go back to them next year when I was planning on upgrading my car. I've reached out to the Sales Manager Senad with no response. I called in spoke with Sarah left my phone number(as of course no sales manager was available) last week and still no call back. I've purchased a few vehicles from this place so i thought that being a returning customer they would treat me decent.. ya i was wrong. I just purchased a vehicle from them and the next day i notices a rattling noise so i took it back for them to check out. They said that the motor mounts were bad. I asked them if they was going to fix them since i just barely purchased the vehicle. They said they'd fix them for a thousand dollars,, Seriously?? Bobby was not helpful at all. What he told us over the phone, was not at all accurate in person. He disrespected us, being rude by assisting other people instead of us, which I wouldn't mind, but if you say you are getting the key to test drive the vehicle and then spend an hour helping someone else, not a good salesmen in my opinion. Worst of all, we finally get the keys an hour later, and he says the engine is blown and won't start! STAY AWAY!!!! I purchased a truck here on 4-23-21 on which it was raining and very cloudy. Why is this important? The truck I was lead to believe valued at $56,000 actually had $13,800.00 worth of hail damage. None of which I could see on a white truck with the weather conditions. Once the deal was done that seemed smooth and easy the sun had came out. We are talking 30 mins after I left the lot, I began to notice little dents showing up on the hood. Immediately I knew what it was as I've felt with hail storms for work. I than called the dealership and asked why they failed to mention any of this damage to me.of course they played stupid and acted surprised about it. Mind you the sales rep said the truck had been on the lot for a month. However they said let us make some calls and will get back to you. A day had passed so I called back and asked how they wanted to handle it. The GM said sorry it's a closed deal, the only thing you can do is trade the truck in and hung up on me. CAUTION!!!!!! This place creates fake carfaxes. They sold us a car and when we went to the Ford dealer a few months later for an appraisal they told us the car had a huge rear end accident reported on it. But this accident was not on the car fax we were given from National Auto Plaza, it was missing entirely. So we called and requested a new copy of the car fax they provided with all of our paperwork and guess what it was magically gone. We gave them a chance to fix this but they turned into jerks when we got there little did they know I have the car fax that they originally gave me. This will be a fun next couple months, reports to the BBB, and car fax have been made. We gave them a chance to make it right. I dont normally post reviews but feel it necessary in this case. If I could give 0 stars I would I have never felt more screwed by a dealership. My husband had traded in his truck and the vehicle they had put him in within a month he broke down on the freeway for a brokem transmission fluid hose which sucked but decided we would suck it up well not even a full month after that he completely LOST his BREAKS on the freeway we called and went in to see if they could help us out well this truck was completely paid off and their offer was to have another $300.00 payment! We also had traded in my vehicle and my temp tag expired 12/13/20 I have been waiting to get my plates and we got a call 12/30/20 that they can't plate it until they run emissions on it! More than 15 days after my plates should of been ready! These are just a couple of the issues dealing with this company. Have the car you're going to buy checked out by a "COMPETENT" mechanic.....especially when buying from this place.....for heavens sake don't trust theirs. Overall a poor experience. We went there to test drive a car to see what we liked so that we could go back and get something when our lease ended. We were told that they could turn the lease into them and we wouldn't be charged any fees, that they would just add the last couple payments we had to make into the loan. Long story short, we were lied to, and it was a nightmare to fix. It ended up costing us extra money in fees and a lot of extra time. I think we negotiated a good price on the new car but that was about the only positive. I don't recommend dealing with Jon at NAP. read more

I really have to agree with most of negative reviews on here. Never, ever buy a vehicle from NAP. Purchased a vehicle that turned out to have a ton of mechanical issues. I made the huge mistake of purchasing the extended warranty through Alpha only to find out it really doesn't cover anything expensive. Management refuses to help me out. They clearly knew what they were selling. The thing that really upsets me the most is how little the sales staff cares about my problems which is an extension of management and ownership that does not care about the customer. The service department is a complete joke and the service manager Brian is an unprofessional a-hole. If I could do negative stars I would. This is THE WORST place I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The pieces of shi* vehicles they peddle to people should be against the law. I can't believe they are still in business. I haven't had my 2018 car for 8 months yet and have had to replace an axle, all my shocks and all the motor mounts and it's still falling apart. I cannot stress this enough DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! Half of them are so worried about looking good and being cool they can't follow through with anything and the other half are so high they can't complete a sentence. This is a disgusting excuse for a business and an absolute joke to deal with. Dealing with these people will give you a whole new type of trauma you can't recover from. We purchased a Cadillac Escalade from this dealership on a Wednesday. Sales associates were great, the GM, Curt Spencer, was arrogant and completely out of line. When we purchased the vehicle, we did a wire transfer as we are from out of State. They asked that we leave the written check with them in case the CONFIRMED wire transfer ended up having any issues. They assured us the check would not be cashed. The check was cashed. After several calls, vm's asking to speak to the GM, I finally got him on the line today, Saturday. He was more concerned with dictating the conversation and making sure I listened to him than he was in exuding professionalism and leadership. They knew there was a problem and couldn't find time to return my call to confirm a solution, assuring peace of mind for us, the buyer of a 60,000 now 120,000 used SUV. Lied to me when they sold me a car last year and found out when I looked a new cars this year. They said it was a personal use car and no accidents have ever occurred. Well with a run of a carfax I found that it was a rental from California and it was side swiped and had structural damage. When I tried to talk to them today the sales rep was very rude and undermining. Refused to give me a manager and said I don't trust any customer that ask for a manager. Also told me I had no grounds with this information. He refused to listen and became very rude towards the end of our conversation, and gain when asking for a manager he refused. Make sure that when you have your bank, you work with your bank. Some tricky way they had us use their bank with Wells Fargo. When we clearly told them we are using our own credit union. Please try hard to not sign unless you know all is clear! Even our paper we signed didn't indicate Wells Fargo on it and didn't say anything in the small print. Worst experience ever buying a vehicle. Should I fault the players involved? Not really. These people are in business to take as much money as possible from their customers, no different than any other dealership. I offer several tips to future customers: I. Know what you want and don't settle for anything else. (They will try to talk you into something else, don't allow it. There are lots of other dealerships around). II. On your test drive have a mechanic or someone competent in the bullpen and take it to them to look at. You're probably buying used which means you're buying somebody's problems. The sale will be AS IS and they will not warranty the vehicle unless you pay lots for one. III. These people will huff and puff to get a sale. Anything they say will not hold up in court even if you have witnesses. Lying is the name of the game. IV. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING unless you are ready to buy and accept the vehicle in its present state of repair. They will NOT let you out of the deal. Also, DO NOT SIGN A BLANK CONTRACT. Bobby and the others will hand you blank documents and want you to sign at the bottom. NEVER DO THIS until it is completely filled out. NO EXCEPTIONS. It could cost you big in the end. V. Do not trade in a vehicle or get financing through the dealership. There are many tricks used including puffing a fake interest rate that will most likely fall through and you'll be told you need to pay higher. This is not only bad form but gives them all the power. They get kickbacks on financing and you'll get screwed on your trade, more money for them on resale. Pre-arrange with your bank and sell your vehicle on KSL instead. Take away as much power from them as you can. VI. Make an offer, give them your phone # and, if declined, WALK AWAY. This place is extremely high priced for the mileage you'll find on their vehicles. Do your homework first. How much are comparable vehicles going for elsewhere? VII. Do not allow yourself to be bullied by these assholes. It's their favorite tactic. Most of all, complaining means nothing to them in the end. They have your money and sleep well every night knowing they took your bread. Belly-aching later is lame. Expect to get lied to, not just here but everywhere. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. If the salesman says free detailing, fuel voucher, extra keys, etc., get it in writing. Their word is worthless and you'll see convenient amnesia. What I noticed and was offended most by is the callousness and rudeness of almost everybody from the sales force to the finance manager. They are very unprofessional and if it happens to you, run, don't walk out the door. I saw a 2004 chevy Silverado on Facebook marketplace for $2000 and sent an email of interest. The next day I received a call but missed it because I was at work. I checked my email again and I received a new one from National auto plaza noting the Silverado truck price reduced to $1500.00! I called back and a salesperson names Bobby from the Sandy location told me that he had been receiving calls about it today and many people wanted it. He said he had no buyers yet so I paid him over the phone Because I was still at work in full with tax. He called me back Shortly and said someone took it for a test drive and wants to pay the original price of $2000.00 and asked me to pay more to match the price. I said that I already paid them and saw that it was taken out of my account already. He hung up and texted me that I'll be receiving the refund in 2-3 business days. I texted him back that this is wrong and contacted their manager and he said that the emailed price was a mistake and that was it. That was bad business. This is by far one of the worst auto dealerships you could possibly buy a car from. Their salesman all the way up to their management team are ONLY interested in their own profits and don't care at all for customers. My friend recently bought a car from them with the dealership promising they would fix the check engine light. They didn't hold their promise and now they are also are saying that the $3,000 warranty that was purchased doesn't cover the mechanical problem which has now led to a blown engine. I know it was an "as is" vehicle, but when they promise to take care or something and then end up not holding their end of the agreement is BS. It is also illegal what they did, selling a car and setting up a loan for my friend with a bank when the car doesn't even pass state inspections. I bought 2 cars from NAP. My experience with NAP has been excellent so far. Everyone from sales (Alex, Cash, Dillon) to Service (Brian) to the management team (Cho, sorry for misspelling). Both my cars needed some extra TLC after purchase. I would call and speak to Brian at service and he took excellent care of us. Here's the moral of the story: treat people with respect and courtesy and you will be surprised how many people will treat you the same way back. These guys (Jerry was who worked with me) quoted me a good price on a car, waisted hours of my time going through the deal in a painfully slow process, then told me that the best they could do on the car was $2600 more than they originally quoted. I eventually worked them down to $1200 more than I was originally quoted, but they would go no further. They tried to play mind games with me, suggesting that since I was so rational I would still buy it at the higher price. The bottom line? I wouldn't have come in to look at the car had they quoted me the price at which they were actually willing to sell the car. I bought a truck last year and everything went ok. My son had a blowout on the freeway 3 hours away from home and 11:00 at night. He got out to change the tire and no spare, jack, or wrench. I had to pay to have it towed. I didn't look to see if there was a spare when I bought a like new truck. So now I have to spend $300+ to replace the missing parts. I called and they pretty much accused me of taking those parts off the truck. Questioning my honesty and integrity. They did say that they might beable to get me the missing parts at dealer cost. But they have never called back. I spent a lot of money on the truck and just wanted them to do the right thing. I can't speak to their service when trying to purchase a car because I was just trying to sell my car to them. I had received an offer from another car dealership in the area and called to ask if they thought they could beat it. Matt told me over the phone that he though it would be possible and he spoke to his used car manager who said that they wanted my car. I decided to make the 30 minute drive to Sandy since it sounded like they would be able to make me a better offer. I had been to another dealership in the area that buys cars and it had only taken 30 minutes to get their offer. I was expecting something similar at National Auto Plaza. After an hour I was given an offer that was better than the other offer I had been given. I asked them to put it in writing so my husband and I could come back up later that evening to finish out the deal. I was told both by Matt and by the manager that I didn't need the offer in writing because they "don't play games" and it wouldn't be a problem at all. Both of them tried to get me to go through with the deal right then even though I didn't have the title with me and I didn't have a way to get back home. I was told that one of their technicians could drive me home and that it was fine that I didn't have the title with me, that I could just bring it back up sometime. I didn't feel comfortable with that offer so I called my husband to see if he would be willing to leave work to grab the title and come meet me at the dealership. He said that he was if they would increase the offer by $100 to compensate for our time. When I talked to Matt about what my husband said, he told me that he didn't think it would be a problem but that he needed to go check. Prior to this he was asking me what it would take to do the deal right now and had asked if I would be willing to do it if they increased the offer $100 so it really had been his idea. Well after waiting for awhile longer Matt came back over to let me know what they had decided and he told me they no longer wanted my car. I was furious that I had just waisted 30 minutes driving up to Sandy and by the end of it all 2 hours sitting around at the dealership and then another 30 minutes to drive back home. I left the dealership and was so upset that I ended up in tears in my car as I was leaving. I would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking of doing business of any kind with this dealership to reconsider and look elsewhere for a place to sell or buy a car. read more

Went in to get my truck appraised and look at a newer truck and they took all my info etc worked a deal out on what I thought was a better truck it ended up being a pile of trash! (Like this company) so I walked away before finalizing everything and they ran my credit though what appears to be every bank/credit union/ whatever they could to make my score go down a couple points. Do not purchase a car from National Auto Plaza - this is the first time I've ever written a review and probably my last but I was that disappointed I found myself in a very frustrating situation that just seemed to get worse and I didnt feel the dealership had my best interests whatsoever from buying the car to the many issues the car had after driving it off the lot. The car I purchased seemed great, despite some interior cosmetic issues I decided to buy the car which took forever I didnt feel like a priority at all as I was forking over money... I overheard the salesman swearing when I was trying to negotiate outside then proceeded to come in grinning ear to ear. I was in a tough spot otherwise I would have just left. They did a total half job fixing the broken cupholder which should have been my first red flag with some glue and paint. looks horrible. I then drive the car for 2 days to have my EPC light and Engine light come on, the car won't accelerate and I call the dealership immediately, they tow it and thankfully the turbo that went out was under VW warranty because national auto plaza had no intention on helping with their DUD car which they insured had been inspected (even paid a 150 inspection fee when buying the car) so I was shocked to have issues arise this quickly clearly an inspection was not done I had a horrible time getting into contact with management or my salesman, calls werent returned, placed on hold and it would then be hung up "they're busy". " they will call back" this happened multiple times until I just went in person after not hearing back from the floor manager. I had asked the service department if the turbo was there only thing wrong, they said to me it was the only thing, I had a feeling something was withheld so I called around to VW dealers to find my car and on the third dealership I found it, I learned the radiator cooling fan was ALSO broke. To my frustration I call national auto, caught in a lie they danced around my confrontation and paused, then said it would be 500 to fix! mind you I owned and drove this for 2 days to and from work... they said it wasn't under the 3month 3,000 warranty and "they don't know how I was driving it" which I took offense to I put maybe 70 miles max on it (freeway miles) Finally I got the car back, took it to a shop and paid 400 to fix the problem and rid my hands of this unprofessional, deceitful and lack of integrity of a team. Oh and to add to it when I took it to the shop my dang guard on the undercarriage was hanging on by a thread 6 bolts were missing the shop just replaced it for free after I told them why I was there in the first place they were surprised where I bought the car wasn't handling these issues being I had it for 2 days. I guess I should have done a better job inspecting the car. You should too, and even then best of luck with the entire team there.
