Before we even signed any paperwork they already had deceased body there. Not sure if that's how the funeral homes work. I was told I could not pay extra every month but when I wanted to pay off, I could call and be told how much was needed. Unfortunately I accepted all of this but have been doing a lot of thinking since. I would have been better off by just setting money aside (and possibly less) and going to another cremation business and pay in full. Each day I find myself regretting what I did and not checking with others. I had to put my…read moreown beloved 14-year-old pit bull mix to sleep, and I had contacted another cremation service - while they were great at communication, they couldn't fit us in at 6 pm for dropping off my dog's body. It was frustrating, because I really didn't want my family to have to deal with "much" during this trying time. (e.g., didn't want my dog's body in the garage overnight). A veterinary colleague recommended "Pets Remembered Cremation Service" and I had an amazing experience. They were super responsive, had clear communication in a time of grief, and had an after hours fee which allowed me to drop off my dog's body at a time that worked for us. When I got there, they were so compassionate and empathetic, and really treated my dog's body with respect. I really appreciated the space (e.g., grieving room) and them greeting me at the door with guerney (with blankets and a pillow on it). I got my dog's ashes back the next day and the presentation was beautiful - a beautiful bag, temporary cardboard tube for his ashes, and the most heartwarming nose print and paw print memorial. And the passive aggressive, condescending way in which they treated my sister-in-law, the grieving widow of my brother, in response to these issues was abhorrent. I wouldn't recommend their services for the death of a house fly, let alone a human being.
