I am absolutely done with this company. I should not have placed another order after my notary stamp order was delayed almost 6 weeks. But I did and placed orders for 2 employees. We have gone back and forth with numerous emails and uploads trying to get these orders processed and delivered, but still nothing. The order was placed on over 6 weeks and the money taken immediately, but we are STILL waiting. We were asked 3 times to send the Notary Certificates, which we did each time in addition to uploading them. I tried calling customer service 800-876-6827 three times. The first time I gave up after 30 minutes, the second time after an hour. This time I have been on hold on for OVER 1 hour & 30 minutes and am still holding. I will NEVER deal with NNA again. read more

I paid for a stamp and they sent me the wrong order. I received a stamp for some lady. When I tried to call, I was placed on hold for over an hour. I called back the following week, and again, I was on hold for over an hour and a half. I have no idea how to get in touch with these people about getting my proper notary stamp and it's affecting my business. read more

Recently while renewing my Notary commission a delay the delivery put me at risk of going beyond the 30 days to file deadline which was during my new job training AND limited the amount of business hours I had to complete this task. The class was informational and interactive. The class is too big. The woman next to me was sleeping and snoring. You can't miss more than 10 minutes or they kick you out of the class and they deduct restroom time. Live scan takes place during instruction and is disruptive. There was no AC for a room with 35+ people which became extremely hot after lunch causing Me to become ill. The test is suppose to start at 4pm and ours didn't start until 5:10pm so testing was finished after 6pm. A whole hour behind schedule causing me to be late for daycare but they expect punctuality from everyone else. Completely unacceptable. read more

I'll be honest. Notary training can be grueling, especially for new notaries. They throw a lot of information at you in a short period of time. However, the instructions at NNA are stellar. They are extremely helpful and they do everything they can to help you pass the exam. And they throw in a lot of humor to lighten it up. NNA is a great organization. If you need help, advice, supplies, etc., they are there to help. I wouldn't be a notary with also being a member of the NNA. read more

This has been a great experience. Our teacher was so on it! She explained what would be on the State test and she stayed on topic, even when others tried to detour her away, with "what if scenarios". Which she answered! She had tips and songs to help us retain the information, which was super helpful. She was a delight, super informative and engaging. Too top it off... I passed my exam with a 90%. Woohoo. I took this test 2 times prior with an online course from another company. I do not recommend online courses unless at the National Notary Association, even better results have a live instructor from this company. They know what they are doing! read more

I became a notary at my office which is very little actual notarizing, I'll probably notarize 3 documents over the next 4 years but I still have to get all the stuff I need. I made the mistake of ordering my bond (on 1/17) from these people because the guy on the phone literally said "we ship it right out, you'll get it in a couple days." Those were his exact words. So I assumed I'd have it 48 hours after I ordered and I thought "what a great service." This was the farthest thing from the truth. 8 days later nothing has arrived and my due date is quickly approaching so I called again to find out what is going on. I waited on hold for 20 minutes (what is this, AT&T) for a lady who told me it was shipped out on 1/19 (2 days AFTER I ORDERED and they got my money). Still hasn't arrived. She said "we can send you one right now overnight. It's only 28 dollars." So first off, the guy literally said "you'll get it in a couple days" and they didn't even MAIL IT OUT FOR A COUPLE DAYS. Second, it appears they sent it the absolute cheapest mail rate possible since it still hasn't come. The lady on the phone couldn't tell me anything else. Just that it should be there in a couple days. WTF was I thinking going with this company? I should have read the reviews here first. I'm so furious I can't see straight because there are tons of other options out there and I got the Comcast of notary companies. I called again and waited roughly 22 minutes before hanging up as I was super busy. It's now 2 weeks and still nothing, I call again and the lady tells me it will be there the first week of February. THIS ISN'T ANYTHING CLOSE TO WHAT THE FIRST GUY TOLD ME. So it went from 2 days to 3 weeks. I tell her I want my money back. She puts me on hold and ten minutes later says they'll over night it to me. I tell her I refuse to pay $28 bucks for this, just give me my money back. She says they'll cover it. I say okay, if you'll over night it I'll have it tomorrow. She says "no, it'll be two days." THAT'S NOT "OVERNIGHT" IS IT??? Avoid this company like they plague. They out and out lied to me and honestly, I see some good reviews here and I'm completely baffled. read more

I ordered a notary stamp with blue ink. It came with black ink. I called to find out how to return the stamp and was told I ordered it with black ink. The website is extremely complicated to order a stamp with blue ink. I was told I should have called customer service and asked for a special order to get the blue ink. It does not say that on the website. I received a stamp with a blue casing but black ink. And the stamp is very cheap and looks like it will break before my notary commission is expired. Customer service was no help at all. I will never order from this site again! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I will throw away this piece of junk stamp and order from a company with better customer service and quality. What a waste of money. read more

Wanted to recognize the most customer centric NNA associate I spoke to yesterday regarding an issue I was having. I applied to become a Loan Signing Agent and received everything but my NSA Certification. Called numerous times and spoke to may different associated who basically told me to be patient and it will come through via e-mail. It never did. No one could tell me why or even tried to deep dive to figure out why...that is, until I spoke to Jerrick Little. This 5 star review is ONLY for him and his exceptional work ethic to go above and beyond to help me when he didn't have to. After we figured out what the issue was, he then suggested we go to my NNA profile so he could help optimize it for me so I could get the ball rolling on building my clientele. Mr. Little was so knowledgeable and made everything easy to understand. He repeated and explained everything with such patience, even with noisy toddlers in the background. Quality people make a quality company. I was in a bind. Friday, 03/19, with my notary commission expiring in a little over a month and Covid limiting the in person exam slots, the chances of having a shot at renewing without a lapse seemed hopeless. I was so downhearted to hear the earliest test exam date was 04/23; 2 weeks before my commission expires. I took the date and figured there wasn't anything I could do. This was exceptionally disappointing since I just completed my required training. How much would I retain with such a large gap between the class and the date of the exam? I then called back to change the exam location in hopes of securing an earlier test date. Tamara Rhoads to the rescue! I was accidentally transferred to her as she works in the hotline department. Seeing that the scheduling department was backed up, rather than transfer me into a queue at 4:45pm on a Friday, she instead asked how she could be of service. I could practically hear the swoosh of her customer service cape as she geared into action. After I explained my situation and what I was trying to accomplish, she diligently searched several surrounding cities to help me. After checking multiple cities, she asks "how about this Monday in Oxnard?" (03/22). I was floored and thought the stress if this ordeal was affecting my hearing. After confirming I heard her correctly, I immediately secured the appointment. If the story would have ended here, then Tamara would still deserve extreme praise for going above and beyond. She sent me 3 follow up emails and even emailed the person in charge of sending out the proof of completion certificates to make sure I would receive mine early enough Monday, ensuring I will make the exam date in time. Monday morning, I received the proof of completion, followed by a personal call from Tamara to confirm I had everything I needed. She ended the call by wishing me luck and thanking me for my business. This is unreal. Concierge quality service with hotel turndown service and a mint on my pillow. Encouragement (mint) to be exact. NNA: Promote Tamara, give her a raise and have her in charge of training anyone who deals with customers in hopes of duplicating her. Otherwise, I'm certain she will eventually be recruited away by a Fortune 500 company and she will be generously compensated for her efforts. All anyone has to do is spend a few minutes on the phone with her to see how extraordinary she is. Thank you Tamara!!! read more

I received my SOS packet with passing exam notification and notary certificate on February 22, 2024. I placed my 1st call to the NNA, on February 26th regarding not receiving my Surety Bond, I was told it was sent out on Feb. 24th and that it should arrive within 10 days by USPS mail. On Feb 27th I sent in the required documents to have my stamp produced. I received my stamps as well as another Notary's stamp on March 5th, in my package. I placed another call asking how to handle the return of the stamp that didn't belong to me and inquire about my Surety Bond in which I was told, it should be there soon. It's now March 12th,  nearly 2 weeks later, I still had not received my Surety Bond. That day, I call again, I get a guy on the phone ask him, "how are you doing today?", and responds with "good you're my last call". I tell my bond situation, he says my bond was sent and that he can't control what the USPS does with mail and that he can overnight another one for $29.95. I say to him, I understand you don't have control of USPS, but I experienced a situation where the NNA overnighted another Notary's stamp to me.  He said he'll have another one sent and confirmed my address. He wasn't very pleasant compared to all the other customer service agents I contacted. The following day, I sent an email and it was confirmed that a duplicate bond was sent. Fast-forward to today, 3/27/24 the duplicate Surety Bond hasn't arrived and today would of been my last day to file my bond with the County Recorder. Although, had to lose time from work and waste gas, I am very thankful that the NNA offices are located about 60 miles from me, and I was able physically pick up my Surety Bond and file it. This process caused unnecessary stress and for the amount of money we spend on the NNA, the least you could do is send the required Surety Bond by way of USPS tracking, as we do when sending our certificate to have our stamp produced. read more

National Notary Association provides expensive training for Notaries. A lot of big companies can afford to pay for it. It's mediocre at best. in my opinion if your company is paying for the training take it. Your company can order everything you will need in one place. If you as an independent notary are paying, be aware of how expensive it is. The new Notary training is worth it. You can put it on your credit card. However, the signing agent training is useless. You are not ready to do a signing after taking it I would recommend skipping it. It's a data dump. You take the course, you pass the course, but won't remember a thing afterwards You still need to find an experienced notary to go on a few signings with to understand how to do a loan signing. The National Notary Association also has a background check that is $65 ($10-$15 more than anywhere else). I recommend shopping around if you have time. Also, their Notary Bond and E&O insurance is ridiculously overpriced. Your own insurance company will give you better rates - if they offer it. Or Google Notary Bond insurance and E & O insurance for a better deal. The National Notary Association is sales orientated now. If you call and try and get some information on one item, they now want to upsell you "a package." The good thing is that someone always answers the phone if you go through the sales line. Their eager agents are happy to take your package order. And, if your company is paying you can't complain. But if you are paying, I recommend shopping around. It's a more time consuming but the savings are well worth it. Overall, this National Notary Association is super convenient. It's convenient for people who work at large companies who have lots of money. Companies who don't mind paying premium cost for mediocre products. However, if you are an independent notary I would encourage you to shop around at places like the American Association of Notaries for supplies. You will be happy with the savings you find. read more

Extremely disappointed with NNA, they almost caused me to miss my deadline. The renewal process portion of scheduling and the course was not an issue and went smoothly. Once I obtained my congratulatory letter and documents, I reached out regarding my bond in order to get the process finalized. It took 2 days prior to my deadline to get my bond. Not sure what the problem was since they had the correct address, they kept stating it would be arriving soon. I actually paid for it to be expedited and nothing. I ended up having to drive 2 hours to Chatsworth to pick up my original bond. They renewal experience was horrible. I gave it 3 stars because I did not have an issue with the teachers or the course. read more

**02/12/2018 update: Thanks to NNA, I passed my Notary exam and am now officially a Notary Public in the State of California!** -- The National Notary Association made my experience in applying to become a notary truly easy and enjoyable. Let me preface by saying that I am still waiting to hear my results from the Secretary of State so I will return for an update. But this review is solely based on the 6-hour training course and exam that I applied for through the NNA. First and foremost, I did a quick search for becoming a notary on Google and the NNA was at the top of my search results. The NNA website was easy to navigate and provided all the information I needed to apply. They were having technical issues with the website so I actually placed my order over the phone. The NNA rep was helpful and explained exactly what I would be getting with the Complete Notary Package (I recommend this one as it includes: California Bond, Official Notary Seal Stamp, Journal, Thumbprinter, hotline subscription, notary primer handbook, E&O Insurance for 4 years, all purpose acknowledgement, and a mini style stamp.) I also opted for the Live Seminar which I highly recommend. The instructors (Michael & Beth) at the Sheraton Park Hotel in the Anaheim location, were fabulous and made the 6-hour training course enjoyable and easy to digest. They also had complimentary coffee and water which was very nice. Another great thing about the Live Seminar is that you take the exam right after the 6-hour course. So the information is fresh in your mind and you're more likely to get a passing grade. 70 is all you need to pass. The exam was 30 multiple choice questions in 50 minutes, and the Secretary of State contacts you in 2 weeks to inform you if you passed. From there, you receive your commission and you can begin notarizing! All in all, it was a great experience and I look forward to hearing from the State. With the help of the NNA, I have confidence that I passed the exam. But time will tell, so I'll be back in a week with an update. read more

I took the 6 hour notary renewal course this weekend with my boss for my day job (also a renewal) and my boyfriend (his first commission). Having gone through two name changes in the years I've been a notary, I've used the NNA for much more than just my education. They are wonderful for answering questions and also buying your supplies through. The phone staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and the online site is easy to navigate. I always recommend NNA to people considering becoming new notaries because I think most of the large businesses I've worked with require the NNA to provide your training if you want to go on to become a signing agent. NNA recently just did my background checks again for the NSA process. Everything looked great! read more
