I hoped we could have refilled them inside before taking the subway back, but didn't see a place to do that. We passed through security without a hitch. It was open seating, and we were a big group. We found seats in two rows that separated the group, but we could still talk and mingle at intermission. The opening act was unique and entertaining. Unfortunately the noisy attendees sitting stage left made it difficult to hear her and her playing. Common courtesy was not evident for this act. After an intermission, the main show took the stage - I MOSTLY BLAME MYSELF. The stage was perfect for these funny troupe & their original humorous skits, which were were diverse, topical, and rousing. After another intermission they returned and gave outstanding & energetic performances. We came for the show and it did not disappoint. The venue was suitable for the show and the uncomfortable folding chairs necessary for the dance party after the show. Static comfortable chairs could not have been uprooted for the after party fun.

It's such an important NYC cultural landmark, and I've been deeply fortunate to attend four events there now. If you're reading this review because you're thinking of attending an upcoming performance, and you're on the fence about it, then I hope that this review will persuade you to get off of the fence and into a seat at Carnegie Hall! Trust me, it's so worth it. Most recently, I participated in a wonderful event at Zankel Hall. It was called "The Divine Art of Music," and it was fabulous. It featured much of the best of both "Western" and "Eastern" music; I can confidently assert that it uplifted many souls that evening. Zankel Hall itself, which seats about 600 people, had such an intimate and fresh feeling to it...highly recommend it! The ushers were all focused, kind, attentive and friendly, which also contributed to a positive and memorable experience for everyone in attendance. IMHO, Carnegie Hall is a foretaste of heaven, which makes heaven all the more attractive. : ) In conclusion, it's truly one of those awe-inspiring gems on this side of the veil, so to speak, which brings us not only culture but a sense of God's goodness and loveliness to all who enter it. I have back issues and usually old opera houses/theatre chairs are not my friend. I sat there for just over two hours and was fine, big relief for me. Plenty of leg room. Appreciate there was a restroom on our level. Each person working that I passed by had a smile to pass along and gave directions well when needed. A great experience. So neat to finally see inside. Now to just get myself to see a Rockettes show. My Gran used to travel every year to "take in a show". She would gush about it when we would see her next. I'd like to do that with my granddaughter some day :) Thank you to Radio City & to all who made Morbid Live possible. I enjoyed listening to Ash & Alaina. You gals Rock!

If I had to place it, I think my first visit here was sometime in the late 90s/early 00s as a kid to see the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. Anyway, was planning to attend a concert being held here, so I was excited to rediscover RCMH as an adult. I don't think there's much more I can add to what's already been said regarding the history and cultural significance of RCMH; it has one of the most impressive resumes of events and shows that have been held under its roof. It's as picturesque on the inside as it is outside, with almost an art deco-type decor with a lot of warm colors and accents of gold. Throughout the main space, there are several concession stands and counters to sell merch depending on whats showing. The theater itself was very comfortable. I sat on the first mezzanine and had great views of the main stage. The seats were plush, and the acoustics were on point. Everyone was also very helpful - getting into the hall was quick and the entire staff was professional and friendly. I know I'm saying these things in a praising manner, which is true but also I kinda expected this from a place as notable as RCMH. Overall, if you have an opportunity to catch a show at RCMH I would highly recommend it. The history, the aesthetics, and accommodations - it's all a yes.

After standing for a few hours, I really regretted not getting a ticketed seat for myself. So in the future, I'm glad that I have that option. Once you enter The Shed, you take the escalator upstairs to get to the concert hall. At the end of the concert, the doors open and lead you out right next to The Vessel so I thought that was a nice visual perk at the end of the concert. I hope I get a chance to come back and get to walk around the place and see a little bit more of it.

Theater review: seating was 3 escalator flights up where most seats were good ones. Comfortable folding style chairs with the theater exhibiting good lighting and audio. There was a mobile bar during intermission that offered wine, water and soda for purchase. I didn't see any merchandise for sale. Production review: When I learned Tom Hanks would be performing Off Broadway in "This World of Tomorrow", I was eager to get tickets. Although the production is Off Broadway, the prices were definitely Broadway and no surprise there with headliner Tom Hanks--one of my top favorite actors of all time--in the starring role. The play takes place in the year 2089 and is all about time travel with Hanks' character--Bert--traveling back to 1939 during New York's World Fair. Without giving anything away, the storyline explores themes on falling in love, technology and what makes life meaningful. We really enjoyed the production which runs through December 21. Overall, it received positive reviews. Some were mixed and in my opinion, I thought the play should have been shaved down by 20 -30 minutes (it was 2 hours + 15 min with intermission). As a Tom Hanks fan, it was truly a delightful treat on a holiday weekend.

These are some of the exhibitions that were formerly on display: Mantua Nangala & Yukultji Napangati: The artists' abstract works of art represent a description of the the' homeland and indigenous life. The appearance of these portraits kind of reminds me of a persian rug, but it's still pretty neat. Matthew Krishanu: Falling Into Place: The setting of these paintings is in South Asia. There is a variety of banyan trees and religious figures. Jaiik Lee: Still In Flux: The vessels are painted in a variety of porcelain colors. The physical appearance of these jars are identical to hot air balloons and the vessel at Hudson Yards. Soull & Dynasty Ogun: KODE: Yes I Do: As you enter this parlor, immerse yourself in a unique clothing line, furniture, and a table aligned with glittering jewelry. Each exhibit is assigned a QR code. Simply scan the code to acquire more information about these exhibitions. The first floor and second are currently shucks & aww where functional objects are infused with humor and visual wit, where context and function meet. Where the second floor presents and represents the mundane to be extraordinary. And the show stopper- the golden rain drops, each suspended making a fantasy look. The 3rd floor had three different artist presented coherently together, probably what I liked best about the gallery, the whole room was collective. Can't wait to see what the next installations will look like in this beautiful space.

Figured I would brave the cold and walk the dozen blocks. Arrived and waited outside of a locked door with a few others for about five minutes. Place was small and crowded. Had a bar in the back that seemed to only sell small cans of yuengling? or something similar. I definitely was not expecting a Manhattan gallery so not dissapointed but others may be. Will say I respect the place for not being put off at hosting a talented graffiti artist opposed to strictly "street" artist. Enjoyed what the artist (mutz a.k.a. moody) was doing and met a few cool people so I'll give 4 stars instead of three. Hope they host more Graff artists.

I walked up to a neoclassical half domed shell designed by William G. Tachau and built between 1921 and 1923, facing out onto one of the more formal stretches of the park. The architecture has a presence that holds up on its own terms as a piece of the overall landscape. The bandshell has hosted outdoor concerts in Central Park for over a century, and the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts continue to use the space for free performances during the warmer months. The acoustics carry well in the open air setting, and the natural bowl of the surrounding lawn functions as informal seating that fills up during popular performances. Catching a concert here is one of those New York experiences that feels specific to the city in a way that is difficult to replicate elsewhere, and the setting in the middle of the park on a summer evening is genuinely memorable. Beyond concerts, the bandshell serves as a gathering point for walks, runs, community events, and festivals throughout the year. I have seen the Disability Unite Festival and various charity walks use the space, and its central location within the park makes it a natural meeting point for larger organized activities. The area is busy on weekends with a mix of tourists and locals passing through along the Mall. This Bandshell has hosted hundreds of performances since it opened in the 1920s. I've been to a variety of concerts including classical, jazz, and rock music. The Bandshell was built in 1923 to provide a large space for music on the Mall. The first bandshell was smaller. The construction of the larger bandshell was funded by philanthropist and music-lover Elkan Naumburg, thus the current name. My last visit I took a photo of the sign about the restoration. There's a high fence with many trucks and workmen in the area. I'll be glad when the restoration is complete. This is the perfect time of year for outdoor concerts. It is also safer for distancing during the pandemic.

It's right on the same block as The Brooklyn Monarch and The Meadows and those are two staple venues for Heavy Metal shows over the last couple of years. Upon entry you will find yourself in a bit of an "L" shaped space with the bar on your right along with some lounge space and to your left is the main stage and general admission standing room only space. The bar area was nice and had plenty of room for those who wish to just attach to it and have a few adult beverages but there are no stools to be found if you were hoping to perch for an extended period. Prices seemed to be standard for such an establishment but since I don't drink I couldn't tell you how bad it was on the wallet in general. I only had a bottle of water which a friend gave me and that was appreciated. Lately I try not to drink anything since I have a bit of an MTA haul after a show and one doesn't need to risk needing a place to go as those options are pretty rare but enough about the shortcomings of the MTA. This venue is a brief walk from the L train "Grand Street" stop if you are using that over a car. The stage seemed sizable and the main group performing had four members. I think the openers had the same with one having an additional musician on the stage with them. The more bands the more crowding for the earliest sets since the main is set up and left along until its their time. There are about a handful of big throne like chairs that are super comfy and might make for a good photo if you wanted one. While I cannot gauge the true capacity off the top of my head, I felt that all of the bands that I recently caught there brought in about 100 people so if you're an artist and can bring that or close to it you might want to reach out to them. The lighting I felt needed to be a little less red but the sound was solid and according to some folks who know the room said that it comes from the Kingsland Club that had closed a number of months ago. The atmosphere on my visit was too dark for proper perspective photos but there is always a next time.

The 3 spaces that make this complex up are The Meadows (doy), The Brooklyn Monarch & The Wood Shop. The Wood Shop is the newest & smallest of these spaces & recently got some good improvements. When it first opened, there was no stage - bands performed on the floor at same level as the crowd & the PA speakers were stacked on the floor, Stage Left & Right, obscuring sight lines. The good news is that they put in an actual stage & hung the PA stacks from the ceiling so sight lines & sound are much better now! Overall it's a small venue with no frills & a great place to see bands you love!
