I recently used them to fix my truck. It had a colossal failure and was completely destroyed. This wasn't a minor fix I could hear the metal gearing grind and I couldn't even get it in neutral. They quoted me a price and stuck to it. They also rebuilt it in house with updated parts instead of having a supplier send them a rebuilt one with warrantees that include you mailing it back to them if it fails. I got my transmission repaired here and not even a month after I had to take it back because it was leaking.. they lost or didn't care to put all my plastic clips back on my car so the plastic underneath the car was dragging.. fast forward a year later transmission still leaking so I take it to another shop.. only to find out that they used a cheap paper gasket to seal my transmission.. and the gasket didn't even line up they put their own holes in it.. Very professional. Had an overall great experience and I'm glad I chose national transmission.

Not really convenient shop to go to. I had to schedule multiple appointments to have services done. Other shops were willing to have my repairs done in a day versus this one. also this shop didn't have a part ready in time which caused me to schedule another appointment to have them resolve it. Customers like myself don't like the inconvenience and also don't like how the shop is not available for other services besides what's listed or mentioned. I won't recommend this shop If God advised me to. Spending thousands and thousands of dollars on what should be top notch service made me realize that if you go to a trashy shop who like to scam people in a lower poverty location expect for them to treat customers like trash. read more

I strongly urge anyone who's thinking about leaving your vehicle here not to. I left my suv here on a Friday for them check if the problems I was having were related to the transmission. I was told the cost to diagnose the problem was $49. When they called me back Friday evening I was told I needed a completely new transmission and it would cost about $2500. They couldn't tell me or give me anything specific on why because they never even put my truck on the lift to throughly inspect my truck. The only thing they did was connected to a machine which I was told have them an error code. They were trying to make me believe I needed a new transmission when I don't think I did because the told me I needed one without doing a complete inspection of my transmission. I picked up my truck and I notice my airbag light on and I asked why? I suspected my airbag had been removed! He then connected a device probably similar to the one he said gave him an error code for my transmission and only an airbag code displayed! I asked him to remove the cover to prove he hadn't stole my air bag and he refused! This shop like others I've dealt with try to take advantage of people when they believe they don't know a thing about their trucks! They not only misdiagnosed my problem making it seem like I needed a completely new transmission and because I chose not to use their services I was rewarded with the theft of my airbag!!! read more

Do not ever in life take your car here.. a simple transmission fluid change turned into a $3200+ transmission rebuild! $3200!!! They told me my car would be ready in a few days!.. 3 weeks later its till there. Now there is something wrong with the starter... and wiring.. everyday ITS SOMETHING.. its " it will be ready this afternoon " and it never is!.. no one is ever working they are just sitting on their ass... I understand markups for parts, but 100% to over 200% markups here are excessive, especially with the "competitive" separate labor charge. Updates on repair progress should be given regularly, AT LEAST once a full business day, without the customer having to text, call, or stop by to ask. Barring any warranty work, I will not be coming back. read more

I do not recommend National Transmission. Worst experience ever. I had to have my transmission rebuilt back in March for around $2500 and since then I've had to take it back up to national Transmission 5 different times. The first couple of times they didn't even drive it, they said it was a sensor.. which is was not. Now that I've had to take it back so many times I'm beyond aggravated and to make matters worse the guy wouldn't listen and then hung up. He was not even close to being professional. Next time I'll pay more for actual service and definitely better customer service. read more

I received great service from National Transmission on Griggs Rd. in Houston, TX. My work van needed a remanufactured transmission. The van works fine now. Great service and staff! My only suggestion is to allow customers to "test drive" their vehicle without first paying the full amount for the service. After my specific request, the owner accompanied me during such a test drive. Major dealerships allow customers to test drive their vehicles prior to paying for the service. It's a common practice.
