    My Dulce
    Judy C.

They saved my dog's life once--then abandoned her when she needed them most. I was a loyal Nationwide Pet Insurance customer for six years. I used to recommend them to everyone. They helped cover thousands of dollars in veterinary care for my dog Dulce, including a $20,000 neurosurgery. Having that coverage gave me peace of mind--I never had to make decisions about her health based on money. I thought I had found a trustworthy, long-term partner in my dog's care. That trust was shattered. Last year, after all those years of paying increasing premiums (from $700 to nearly $4,000 annually), Nationwide informed me they would not be renewing her policy. Instead, they offered a stripped-down plan with minimal coverage and a low annual max. They would still "cover" her pre-existing condition--but with such limited benefits, it meant almost nothing. I searched for other options, but no insurer would cover her now. Then the worst happened. Just one month after our original policy expired, Dulce had another medical emergency. I'm now faced with an impossible decision: Can I afford to save her life again without the coverage we once had? Nationwide gave me peace of mind when it benefited them. But when my dog became too "expensive," they abandoned us. I never imagined I'd be forced to weigh her life against my finances. Please think twice before choosing Nationwide. If they could do this to us after years of loyalty and thousands in premiums, they can do it to anyone.

King of my heart (but me and my pup so no to kings otherwise.)

I truly wish I could leave negative stars. My sweet little dog is in advanced heart disease and has multiple ER visits a year, along with tons of vet appointments and medications. After raising the cost astronomically every year for the past 7 years, they are now canceling his insurance and giving me insurance that barely covers anything. Late-stage capitalism wins again. I'm so sick of this country and if I didn't love my niece and nephews so much, I'd be gone. I have no choice but to accept their terrible replacement insurance because he is 12 with preexisting conditions. I'll be cancelling ALL of my other Nationwide policies. Not that there is such thing as ethical, user-prioritized insurance of any kind in this god-forsaken country, but at least it will be satisfying to cancel my auto, home, and renters!

I cannot say enough good things about Nationwide Pet Insurance. They have been a consistent source of support for me and my dog, who truly means the world to me. Recently, she needed a life-saving surgery, and without Nationwide, I would not have been able to afford it. Thanks to their coverage and care, she was able to get the treatment she needed, and I still get to enjoy every precious moment with her. Having pet insurance is one thing, but having a company that truly stands behind you during your most difficult times is another--and Nationwide has done exactly that for me. I am extremely thankful for this company and what they do for pet owners and their beloved companions. They've made a huge difference in our lives, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering pet insurance. From the bottom of my heart - Thank you!!!
