The technician tried a few parts and said it was the control card. Expensive repair but after I didn't hear back after a couple of days I called and was told they couldn't find the card or suitable replacement so they gave me a $10k quote to replace the whole unit. I asked if it was covered by the warranty since it's only 6 years old and he said they couldn't find any service records so the manufacturer wouldn't honor the warranty. I got a second opinion from another local company and they found a clogged orafice. Once cleared it worked fine and that said this unit will last for years and is still under warranty. Roland Black called a few days later to see if I want to schedule the installation or the new furnace. I explained what happened and asked to cancel my annual service contract and get that money back. She said she would talk to her manager but I have not heard back in about a week. I can't recommend Roland and Black. A friend told me they had a similar experience.

First thing he did was go over my booklets and manuals that came with the installation. When he examined my unit, he went straight to the control board to check the wiring on the thermostat. It took him a little while but he found the problem and I am very happy with the results. So much so that I questioned him about signing up for a yearly maintenance agreement where they come and inspect your HVAC unit twice a year to make sure it is functioning properly. And I discovered that they charge less than $150 per year for that service. Their prices are right and their employees know what they're doing. Can't ask for more than that!
