Pork belly and egg breakfast tacos
    David W.

Native by Nyesha (by Top Chef competitor Nyesha Arrington) presents bold flavors right inside the LAX terminal. With a decent dining footprint and tasty food, it makes for a pleasant, relaxing stop in the normally chaotic LAX background. THE FOOD * Pork Belly Breakfast Tacos: These were excellent. The crisp pork belly and scrambled eggs were topped with fresh avocado, cotija cheese, and salsa verde. * The Side: The plate came with a stack of triangular, deep-fried hash browns, which were crispy and comforting. SERVICE * Special thanks to Nat (originally from Chiang Mai), who greeted us warmly and provided attentive, timely service throughout the meal. IMPORTANT NOTE Check your bill: an 18% gratuity is automatically included in the check. OVERALL A relaxing place to sit during a chaotic LAX layover, with tasty food and kind service.

Nice comfortable seating to eat. My husband ordered the breakfast burger melt with crispy potatoes. And we had a couple drinks. Brought drinks promptly server was friendly. Super long wait for food. If you're in a hurry pick something else. 30+ minutes before food arrival after ordering, Diabetics be careful with insulin due to wait time. Side note-Unfortunately was told can't have outside food purchased prior to arrival after already ordering drinks and 1 entree dish 2 people. Ordered a sandwich before my husband decided he wanted something at Native. Can't say I begrudge them because I wouldn't bring anything at a regular restaurant. I just thought it would be more accommodating at an airport.

Located in Terminal 3 near Gate 33, this spot is definitely worth checking out. The bartender was incredibly friendly and made excellent recommendations for both drinks and food. I enjoyed the pork belly tacos an amazing combination of sweet and savory with just a slight kick of spice from the salsa. Definitely worth a try. Very low key great vibe for airport bar.

This restaurant is a diamond in the desert of crappy airport industrial food at LAX airport . The food is incredibly well constructed and flavorful, presented beautifully and reasonably priced ( for an airport) During my 3 hour layover , I sat in a nice comfortable chair (instead of the horrible hard back breaker seats in the airport waiting areas) I had their delicious , buzz worthy Hollywood Hills Margherita and a generous bowl of their green curry corn chowder . Omg every spoonful was so delicious . I don't like junk food or fast food or anything mass produced . I can see and taste that a lot of care and thought was put into their menu and the dishes served . Every time I'm in terminal 2 I go there and enjoy the drinks and food,

Airport food is always suspect, but it's pretty hard to screw up a fried chicken biscuit. Let me start with the hash browns. They were actually thick perfectly cooked and some of the best hash brown patties I've ever had. I'd give them five stars easy. The chicken biscuit however was a disaster. The biscuit just fell completely apart. The chicken thigh was slimy and weird. The whole thing was just a complete train wreck. They do have a nice IPA and a beautiful counter to sit at and eat. They don't allow luggage at the bar unless it's under your feet. Which is kinda weird considering everyone there has luggage. You could sit your luggage against a rail behind you but it felt so insecure that I wished I had a bike lock to secure it. They do have nice beer on tap. I had a couple wonderful hazy breakfast IPA's. The staff was friendly and the service was fast I'd say it's ok to eat here but don't get the chicken biscuit!

Honestly, I'm so over airport restaurants. The price, the quality, and the service are all horrible. I ended up just going with a glass of white wine which was $18 and had automatic gratuity on the bill. This was frustrating because the waitress took forever to come by, it took forever to get my wine, and then upon closing the bill she gave someone else's credit card to me (and mine to someone else) - no apology.

Ended up getting the bread, charred cabbage, and the duck with a mole sauce. The bread comes with Tomat butter (not tomato butter) and the butter was decent. The bread felt very light with a charred crust. Interesting flavor that I can't pinpoint but the fluffiness made it worthwhile. The charred cabbage was a mixture of cabbage and other veges including shishito peppers and broccolini. Comes with some slight kumquat/loquat combo and nuts. Not sure I liked the charred flavor and couldn't done without the fruit and it just didn't really fit together. The duck comes with breast which had its fat rendered well but the mole wasn't really flavorful. It comes with a duck roulade of sorts and this was a letdown. Honestly not sure what the filling should've tasted like but it was odd. In the end of the meal, service was semi-non-existent. The server was swamped and nothing on him but it felt understaffed for the amount of tables there. In the end, Tomat is ok. I can see myself coming for a happy hour but I dunno if I wanna try again with dinner service.

He was attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. One thing to keep in mind: it can get pretty windy up there since you're close to the airport, so bring a light jacket or dress accordingly. It's located inside a hotel and the rooftop was decorated with florals and there were couches near the fire pits. If you sit at the fire pit, the table is going to be super small by the way. I ordered the grapefruit grove, but they ran out of grapefruit so I had to sub for pineapple. The drink still tasted good. My friends ordered the bird of paradise and the LA fruit cart and they liked their drinks as well. For food, we all tried the flora fries, garlic parmesan wings and the ahi tuna poke nachos. This is where it was lacking. I only liked the flora fries. They were crispy and garlicky. However, the garlic parmesan wings were extremely bland. I couldn't taste any flavor, we had to ask for some salt. The ahi tuna poke was not what i was expecting. I literally got 4 small pieces of tuna on some crispy wonton chips and it was $23 lol. Overall, if I were to come back, I would just come for drinks and ambiance but not the food.

We sat at a high table by the window and the kind young bartender took our drink and food orders. We had arrived in time for happy hour, so we chose the charcuterie board and two orders of the salmon sliders, both reasonably priced at $9.50 each. The sliders were spicy and delicious. The charcuterie board was not as impressive. It didn't seem particularly fresh; the grapes especially were a bit wrinkly and sad. We could also have done with a few more pieces of toast to go with the pieces of smoked Gouda and Brie, and the couple slices of salami and prosciutto. The house poke salad, crispy pork gyoza, edamame, grilled jumbo scallop skewers, grilled shrimp skewers, and the Wagyu ribeye yakitori were all packed with incredible flavor. To drink, I had the refreshing Lychee Mocktail, and we also tried King Plus's five-sake flight, which is a great way to experience a variety of authentic Japanese sakes. Then we headed inside for the hot pot experience. We sampled four different broths--Kombu, Tonkotsu, Spicy Miso, and Sukiyaki--before cooking premium beef and fresh seafood right at our table. The Royal Seafood Set featured shrimp, Atlantic salmon, fresh scallops, fish balls, and the chef's curated seafood selection, while the Royal Beef Experience included ribeye, chuck roll, and beef belly. But the highlight for me was the Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. It was beautifully marbled, incredibly tender, and practically melted in my mouth after just a few seconds in the broth. We wrapped up the meal with a refreshing Yuzu Pop Sparkler, creamy matcha ice cream, and rich matcha cheesecake.
