I stopped in this past Saturday evening and sat at the bar, preparing to order the "secret menu" skirt steak. But to my surprise it was now permanently on the menu ... along with a Ribeye and a few other amazing (but logical) additions. Even better, they had an unadvertized special - Coca Cola Ribs. We waited 10-15 minutes before our table was ready She had Spaghetti and Meatballs and I had the Curry rice and chicken bowl. Both were delicious, however, the potatoes in my curry were not done and were a bit too hard. I sent it back actually. Our server Olivia made us pay before we were finished eating cuz she said that she had to clock out. I absolutely hate being made to pay before I'm done eating. It's a pet peeve of mine. You should consider using Truxton's for Catering. They are absolutely awesome. We did a health event at our church and they catered it with great food option we had Ann Veggie wrap, barbecue chicken, and a miso salmon wrap that everybody loved them. People loved all three. We also had the Antioxidant salad and everything was on time, everything was awesome. I have been coming to Truxton for over 20 years and Shavon and help me so many time but this time she has exceeded all my expectations. Tonight I also came in to get a meal. I got the hanger steak, that was very good. Got a side of the sweet potato fries. And that key lime pie. My dad and I really like the food here. I try to order something different every time and everything I've tried is consistently good. They have a rather large menu with plenty of options to either eat healthier (think salads with fruits and quinoa) or indulge a craving (think fish and chips). Today we tried their lunch, special combos for the first time each lunch combo is $15.99 and offer offers the opportunity to pick either a super salad along with a half sandwich. When they came out, I didn't initially think it would be enough for me or my dad. But after eating our meals, my dad remarked that it was just the right amount. We had also ordered a large order of sweet potato fries as well to supplement our lunch. I definitely look forward to coming back to Truxton's. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program. I have tried Truxton's for dinner a few times in the past, mostly to go or delivery orders but this past weekend I stopped in for breakfast for my first time and really enjoyed it. Inside is really large and open, with many different seating options and rooms. They have a full bar with TVs, giant booths, is well organized, and is in the end a comfortable setting. There is a giant free parking lot attached on the side of the restaurant, so finding a space is really easy. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out extremely fast. The menu here is very large, so there are tons of options on it. For this visit, I chose the 14th Street Breakfast Sandwich and added avocado. I thought it was honestly really good and I also switched to the brioche bread which I would recommend. All the dishes that I've ordered here have been consistently good and I plan to be back many times in the future. read more

I returned to my favorite American food restaurant where the staff and folks are friendly! We enjoy sitting at the bar to be social! Today George served us and he was very accommodating because we told him we were waiting for a friend and understood we wanted to wait before ordering. I ordered their weekly Special cocktail which is off the menu, so ask the server about it, $10. Today it was a cucumber -mint- lemonade drink! We started with the ancho shrimp appetizer which comes with a crunchy coleslaw with pepitas. I loved Nona's Greek Bowl and my husband ordered the Fish Tacos. I really wanted to order the key lime cheesecake for dessert ( Seasonal Cheesecake), but we were quite full! We decided to stop here before catching our flight out of LAX. The place is very nicely decorated giving a slight feel of sophistication but not pretentious. About half of the tables were occupied. Service was quick but not rushed. We ordered a cup of the French Onion soup and Cherry Cambozola Grilled Cheese and split them both between two of us. The soup was very flavorful with a good amount of cheese. The sourdough on the sandwich was nicely toasted. The cherry sauce was a perfect compliment. Stopped by Truxton's for lunch with my sister in law around 12:30. It was quiet at first, then the lunch rush hit about an hour in. Our waiter, Benedict, was great. Patient, helpful, and really attentive the whole time. We both started with soup. She ordered the Caramelized French Onion Soup, and I went for the Chicken Tortilla Soup. Now, anyone who knows me knows I love CTS, but this one missed the mark. The consistency was off and did not feel well developed. It honestly gave "let's add this to the menu and see what happens" energy. I ended up switching to the French Onion, and even then, I still wasn't a fan. What did save the day were the drinks. The seasonal tropical lemonade was delicious, and the Purple Haze drink was even better. Those two alone made the visit worth it. I'll definitely come back because the service was great and the atmosphere was solid. I just won't be coming back for the soup. read more

Fantastic brunch experience here on a Sunday morning around 11:30am! We waited for 30 minutes since it was busy, but ordered quickly once seated. Note that they do have a bar, which is first come first serve and they play sports games on the TVs. I wouldn't say the interior is anything special in its decor, but it's a well maintained mix of traditional wood and modern metal that gives the place a higher-end feel. Our server and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive, checking in on us frequently throughout our meal. The cafe latte was good, but served in a cup that made it difficult to drink as you had to drink so much foam before you could enjoy the coffee. Foodwise we ordered the strawberries and cream waffle and Pablo's breakfast burrito with a side of fresh fruit. Both dishes were delicious and the presentation was phenomenal! The savory chipotle sauce on the burrito was addicting and the almonds, cream and strawberries on the waffle paired super well together. My only criticism is that the texture of the waffle was dense and tough to cut. read more

I found this place via Google; the menu intrigued me, so I intended to go in the early afternoon but ended up going for breakfast. I started with a French Lavender '75 cocktail; a mix of gin, lemon juice, lavender syrup, and sparkling wine ($15.50). A refreshing starter though perhaps a Bloody Mary would have been more appropriate as this cocktail should have been paired with a more delicate dish. I ordered the Chicken and Applewood Bacon Waffle ($23.95) as I love fried chicken and waffles. The chicken tenders were tasty as was the bacon. The waffle was okay but not crispy enough for me. I feel waffles served with chicken should be cooked extra crispy as the heat from the chicken softens the waffle on which they're placed. Other than that, it was a fine rendition of a favorite of mine. The menu is vast, and they offer desserts that I love, including mixed berry cobbler and an apple tart. Both were off limits as I'm on a quest to lose the weight I gained on 39 days of cruising, so I ended my meal with a cup of coffee ($3.75). Service from Marcos was fine. There is plenty of parking in an adjacent lot and I didn't have to wait too long to get a table. I'll be back! read more

I picked Truxton's American Bistro near LAX because of its broad, delicious-looking menu--and it absolutely delivered! I love that they serve breakfast until 3 PM, which was perfect for our late start. I arrived early and Sam took great care of me, bringing me the cappuccino ever, while waiting for my friends. Let me just say: it was hands down the best cappuccino I've had in a very long time--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Looking around I started to really enjoy the ambiance. The place is beautifully designed and it feels cozy. When my friends arrived, they both ordered double espressos and were equally impressed. For breakfast, one friend had the Beach Eggs Benedict and the other went with the Tex-Mex scramble--both were hits. I kept it classic with the Truxton (3 eggs any style), and it was cooked perfectly. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the flavors spot-on. We sat there three hours and Sam checked on us but did not push us out. I really appreciate that because my friends and I hadn't see. Each other in a very long time. What a great place. The staff even mobilize a search party that helped me look for my expensive sunglasses that I ran back in for after leaving them on the table for less than two minutes. Stopped in for lunch before flying out of LAX and the food was excellent! The location is great, just around the corner from the LAX economy parking garage. We had no issues getting in/out. We sat at the bar and had very friendly service from everyone we interacted with, from the host to the bartender, and other staff. We started with the ahi tuna on crispy rice. The tuna to rice ratio was perfect. The sauces also went really well with it--added flavor, spice, and a touch of sweetness without being too overpowering. I ordered the al pastor sandwich and it was so delicious, highly recommend! The pork was very flavorful and the avocado, pickled onions, and chipotle mayo complemented it very well. My husband ordered a cheeseburger--classic, delicious, and cooked to the perfect temperature. We finished both our entrees and were very satisfied but could not resist a slice of chocolate cake, and I'm so glad we went for it. It was amazing--rich, moist, and fudgey, everything you could want in a chocolate cake. The menu is extensive and diverse, and it is clear that no wrong choice can be made! Listen, I like Truxton's! I landed in LAX and was looking for a cool happy happy. A place where I could get a quick bite and a drink. And I stumbled across Truxtons on Yelp. It had decent reviews so I Ubered over. The ambiance was decent and the patrons were diverse. It was a place where you could hangout with colleagues, friends, or family. I was able to find a seat at the bar and the service was nice and prompt. Per the bartender's recommendation I ordered their drink special, the New York Sour and I loved it! So much so, I ordered 2 more. (Thank God for Uber) To eat, I got the ancho shrimp, which came with a slaw, all of which I enjoyed. Then I added their specialty monkey bread and that was tasty too. There is something to be said about a place that always delivers on exceptional food, and that takes pride in their presentation. I really love this place and I have never been disappointed. I just want to say thank you for my birthday meal, which was exceptional, I didn't get to sit down this time, but I got it for takeout and it was excellent, all of the Dish was presented just as it would've been in the restaurant, the presentation was nice the food fresh, and it says a lot I really like just Dark Meat chicken, preferably the thigh however, this is the only place that can make it take rest that is succulent and juicy every single time and I really enjoy it. It is the way that chicken is to be prepared my hats off to the chef and management and servers at this restaurant, all shit do themselves a favor and check it out. It's my 80 years old birthday celebration and on a Sunday afternoon at Truxton's and everything was great, happy atmosphere , the best food service and friendly staff. Truxton's is usually amazing. I've been many times and have consistently had great experiences. Unfortunately, today was an exception. I sat at the bar and was served by Shaka, whose behavior was rude and unwelcoming. When I sat down, he stood directly in front of me without acknowledging me at all. I said "hello," and he barely responded. When I asked if he speaks to customers, his response was simply, "Give me a second," with no explanation or courtesy. I did let the manager know, and he was very apologetic, which I appreciated. Still, it was surprising and disappointing to experience that level of service, especially at a place we frequent often since we live just ten minutes away. Hopefully next time is better! After our poor interaction, he refused to clear my plates, despite clearing the plates of the people around me. So I had to ask the manager for my check as well as clear my plate since I was still drinking my glass of wine. His behavior continued to be rude for the remainder of my meal. read more

This restaurant is really close to LAX. This was my last stop before heading to the airport on my trip back to home. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get a table within 10 minutes. We were able to be seated at a booth that overlooked the street. We were in time for brunch specials, which included a sangria, bloody Mary, and Bellini. For drinks, we were satisfied with the sangria and the spicy margarita. The menu here is really diverse as there is something for everyone. It was really hard to decide between getting brunch lunch or something else. Ultimately I got the fish and chips. I was happy with my meal as the garlic French fries as they were delicious. However, I did feel like it. There was a lot of breading on the fish. I wish I went for the grilled tacos. Others at my table got a variety of different bowls, some with chicken and some with poke salmon. The overall consensus was that the food here was good and reasonably priced. Definitely a good place to come before going to the airport if you just wanna be in the area near LAX, not necessarily at LAX. The establishment has a parking lot, but there was also plenty of street parking Our server was hella cool, shout out to Alessandra. This place has been around for years and it's always a good time. Great for brunch/lunch with a lot of options (something for everyone). Today I went with the classic fish sandwich which was good. I also really enjoyed the spicy tuna on crispy rice and the buffalo cauliflower. The drinks are really good and they also have mocktails for those who prefer no alcohol. The ambiance is nice. Average noise level, low music playing in the background. The service was great and everyone was friendly. Our waiter did a great job of recommending items on the menu. If going with a big group or on a weekend, I highly recommend making reservations. They also have a private room to rent for large parties. I picked up my friend from the airport, who was in from Chicago. We were hungry...so I yelped and decided on Truxton's. We walk in. No wait for bar seating. Nate was our bartender. He greeted as warmly and made excellent suggestions. We ordered the cauliflower, the Vietnamese wings, and the tuna on crunchy rice. We wanted to order the artichoke, but they were out of the artichoke. Just as well...what we ordered was more than enough food between two people. It was delicious. There are 2 reasons for four stars instead of five is 1. because the Decor could use a little facelift. I wasn't sure if we were in a cabin in Colorado or a cute little bistro in Los Angeles... that's something that I think is so important. 2. The menu had so much on it that it was really difficult to make decisions. I'd rather see 30 things on the menu and those 30 be absolutely phenomenal than 100 and I'm not sure where I'm going with it. But with that being said, the food was delicious and I will gladly return. read more
