This location is moving but been here for the first time and it's decent mostly vegan Caribbean eatery. The patties and drinks are their best quality. The menu has variety Caribbean dishes and drinks to try. Yet I wouldn't get most of their vegan entrees. The service is decent, but the entree my guest and I had wasn't the best. The jerk chicken and ribs (all vegan) meal wasn't spectacular. Comes with cabbage and side of your choice. I chose Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was the worst I ever had. Tasted like plastic. The ride ribs mad muddled in flavorless sauce and the jerk chicken looked more like spicy pull pork. The cabbage was decent and Lo Mein had too much sodium. The best items were the lentil and fish parties. The zucchini bread was ok and the ginger beer was spicy good. I'd return only for the patties and drink here. The entrees need a revamp. VEGAN I had the vegan curry chicken and the vegan citrus spare ribs with rice and peas, mixed veggies and plantain. This meal so yummy. I am convinced that Natural Blend is the friendliest place in Brooklyn. I've been to 3 of the 4 locations and each time has always been a positive experience. They really live their ethos of "crafting authentic food infused with love, goodness, and nothing else at this place." This is for the Prospect Heights location because it's the one I regularly go to. I love their patties, especially the callaloo; the lentils and the peas are a close second. Their lunch and dinner plates are tasty; I've tried the pepper steak and the jerk chicken. The medium size is a good portion and will more than feed you. Also don't miss out on their bread and pastries. There's much more to explore here--the smoothies, the stews, the curry chik'n, for my Caribbean cravings. My only complaint is that Natural Blend uses plastic bags and utensils. Just make sure to request without and bring your own bags. read more

The crust of the patties is flaky, crispy, buttery with soo many layers. Other than the extreme edges of the patty, the crust is uniformly succulent and a appropriately balanced bite throughout the patty. Filling to crust ratio is absolutely perfect, every bite was uniform and well balanced. The filling seasonings were absolutely on point, it tastes like really smooth and creamy meat - pure umami. 4.5 stars! Wow such a good vegan place! I only tried the fish patty and the jerk chicken meal but both were delicious and a good value (~$4 for patty and $13 for meal when ordered through Grubhub)! I LOVED the fish patty, didn't taste like fish at all, but more mimicked the consistency of a fish curry. So flaky, so flavorful. The jerk chicken meal was good too, the "chicken" was flavorful although you can definitely tell the meat has a soy flavor. It was a good amount of food for a small. I had a little time before an event I was heading to and I was a little hungry. So I recognized the name of the place because the original location is in my own neighborhood. This location is much brighter and seems bigger due to it's newer updated features from the original. The staff is friendly but not too friendly, letting me know the food is gonna be fire, lol. They were out of chicken patties, which is a good sign too. She suggeste a fish pattie (my 2nd choice) and I went ahead with that period ringing in at a little under $4, I was impressed that it had the markings of an old school Jamaican patty straight from the island. Not too thick or crusty, the savory crust complimented the soy fish inside perfectly. I'm almost sad I didn't get an extra to go, but I wanted to leave something for someone else because they were almost all gone too. I know I'll snag a few next time I'm on Washington. read more

Definitely a no frills establishment but I had a good experience. I went in for a smoothie and they have a big menu but I ended up customizing my own, which they had no issue with. I've been getting smoothies and açaí bowls here for years, and I'm always pleased with the taste and freshness in the food here. They also have a good selection of drinks like coconut water, that good Martinelli's apple juice, etc. in the back and I stock up from there sometimes. They've got good loaves like a sweet coconut bread, zucchini bread, etc. The service is always friendly although both guys yesterday consistently wore their masks under their noses which made me feel a little uncomfortable. I asked one to pull it up and he did but by the time my bowl was done it was back under the nose again. So I'd ask to please just be conscious of the customers and wear masks correctly. Sheesh. I love this place. I've been going here over the years and the food is always bomb. Small, no frills space but love flows from the food and staff. This is the original of the two locations and as much as I adore the updated look and offerings of the second location in Bedstuy, in my food obsessed opinion, the flavor at this location dominates. They also offer vegan lasagna which is magnificent. Although, its a case where looks can be deceiving. It falls apart and looks a bit messy, but it's amazing!! The food is amazing , full of flavor and different options . I got a large (vegan) curry chicken that came with rice with peas and a salad , the portion is definitely worth the price and could be shared between two people easily . I also got a callaloo patty which was amazing , not greasy or doughy as other patties I have tried , it felt light . I didn't know what dish to try when I walked in here. In the past, all I used to get were veggie patties and such. Today, I asked the server to give me a medium size dish that he thinks is good. Since I was parked by a fire hydrant, I took my dish with me and sat in the car as I proceeded to chow down. On first bite, my taste buds erupted in wonderment. My brain was like 'this is delicious'. After I ate everything on my plate, I snuck out my car and back into Natural Blend restaurant and asked the server what dish I ate. He said it was the Curry 'chicken'. Since then I've been back 3 times and had another curry chicken dish, pepper 'steak' which was good. The lasagna was old out every time I got there. So in gist, the food here is great. I'm sure this will be a good spot to visit during spring, summer and fall if you want to sit outside somewhere to eat, since there's limited seating inside. New fan here. Had a wonderful experience after stumbling upon this spot after the park. I walked in to a bustling line and yes it was worth the short wait! I got an original açaí bowl, which was made fresh to order. It was slightly tart, had the perfect consistency and the perfect ratio of açaí to toppings. The staff was friendly, the bowl was fairly priced (& a generous portion!!) with a nice casual backyard. My roommate comes here often but my experience is bad! I came for the sea moss drink they have in their fridge and she said they were out i asked when they would have more and she just cut me off and said she doesn't know... okayyy well i walked all the way here have to get something so i got the vegan Mac and cheese and it looks horrible. Stop serving young green breadfruit as a vegan alternative. Maybe foreigners dont know but anyone growing up in Jamaica knows you CANNOT roast young green breadfruit, its gonna be hard to chew in most areas, unappetizing and if green may hurt some people's stomach. I was introduced by a friend and I've never looked back. I usually buy the potent ginger beer that I loveee. Always good to dilute it a bit but i love it just like that. I also get the the lentil patties and i really was transported (I spoke to our ancestors) and came back rejuvenated and ready to take on the day. So, what's so great about this place? Well, I am glad you asked. It's kind of expensive (2 meals and 2 drinks ring close to $30), but you get what you pay for. The Ginger beer and the Sorrel in the fridge actually tastes like something someone made in-house rather than some factory upstate. The main courses (we had the brown stew "chicken" and the yard-style ital stew) were flavorful and comes in a decent size with veggies, and the ever important rice and peas. Ital stew is notoriously easy to mess up since it's just root veggies and okra stewed in coconut milk with pimento added, and it's so easy to overcook everything into an army gym sock mess. In this case, it actually retains the texture well, tastes freshly made, and satisfying to boot. It's also several blocks from the Brooklyn museum IRT stop so getting there is no trouble at all. I love West Indian cuisine and plant based food, so Natural Blend has been on my checklist of spots to hit up for awhile. Unfortunately, it was a "blend" of disappointment and unmet expectations with possibilities and flashes of goodness. That's not the smoothie I was looking for. The Irish Moss smoothie was a chalky, bland purple mess. My wife was disappointed by the tropical blend smoothie though I thought it was okay. The lo mein was spaghetti noodles with like ... canned vegetables, soy chicken and a flavoring ... not the type of low mein you expect if you have any acquaintance with Chinese food. Next we tried the vegan "lentil" patty. They actually gave us the chicken patty instead. Bad look giving vegans meat patties. The patty had a flaky crust so it was disappointing that we couldn't enjoy it. Finally, we sampled the vegan blueberry muffin, which was saved by my wife heating it and putting a pat of Earth Balance vegan butter on it. It didn't really taste like blueberry and would have been to dry without the added butter. I wanted to like this place, but won't be going out of my way to return. read more

There are several locations. They have hot food ready as well as smoothies, juices , sorrell , sea moss. I love that it's a great place for takeout.
