Cozy comfortable spot with great service. 4/5 Sadly the food, 2/5. The pizzas were overpriced ($24-28) and disappointing. Pepperoni tasted burnt and not much flavor in either pie except for a bit of a kick on the bottom one. Appetizers were fine although not any sort of deal e.g. broccoli $14. I'd prefer my corner slice shop.

What a charming place to grab some good food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere! PDA has a nice selection of cocktails, as well as some beers and wines. But the pizza was the main draw for us, and it was great. Loaded with delicious toppings, and the crust was pretty good! A little thicker/chewier than what I usually like, but still a great pie. Bonus points for great service, but be sure to make a reservation - there aren't many seats inside!

Super chill atmosphere. Great pizza. Server recommended the "commish" pizza and it did not disappoint. Got a half and half with pepperoni. They use the delicious little pepperonis that curl up into a little cup. Highly recommend for a chill little local place.

Honestly, not impressed at all. First of all, the service was extremely slow, and the place wasn't even that busy. My friend ordered a salad and they completely forgot it. By the time it came to the table, everyone was done with their food already. We had also ordered a sangria pitcher with our pizzas, and that didn't come out until people were basically done eating. The pizzas were good, but not worth $24 each. I split one with a friend because I couldn't justify the price, but we both definitely needed more food after that. The shishito pepper appetizer was the best thing we had. They were seasoned really well and the texture of them was great. The sangria was watery and weak. Also, the restaurant is on a hill, so I feel like they should've been better prepared for that. The tables they have are all slatted, so it's easy for glasses to get caught--especially when the tables are slanted! Two of our glasses toppled over and spilled all over us, and the table next to us also experienced the same fiasco. The tables were just very flimsy, and the combination of them being made of slats and on a hill--just a bad combo.

I met up with a friend for dinner here recently and overall enjoyed the experience. The service was friendly, and this really felt like a neighborhood spot. That said, the tables inside we were super close together, and it was pretty much impossible to get into some of the seats without bumping into the table next to you. Food was pretty good. We got an order of the brussel sprouts to share, and we both agreed that the sauce complemented them well. The dough of the pizza was delicious and I really enjoyed the blend of cheeses and garlic on the white pie. My friend seemed to enjoy her salad too. Overall, it's a cute spot!

    Meh pizza.

What can I say about this pizza,..... that hasn't already been said about Kabul? Place was empty, service was lackluster and uninterested,... at best. My buddy's iced tea, no refill, had some kind of paint or nastiness in the glass, and even then, we couldn't get the nastiness refilled. Whoever scored this place a 9.x clearly has stock in Raytheon and this hot mess. The old fashioned was straight bourbon (not complaining), was never asked if I wanted a second. The pizza terrible, second only to the servers attitude and politics on her shirt..... someone tell ICE to send their prisoners here for meals; they'll run for the hills.

Finally tried Public Display of Affection (PDA for short). I walked by it a few times, but was already getting food at Wangs so it never seemed like the time. Actually got Wangs yesterday and thought, I really need to try PDA. So today, as I was browsing ubereats for my weekly pizza meal, saw PDA and I had to order. Decided to get 2 cheese pizzas and some meatballs to share. Even though we ordered 2 of the same pizzas, they were slightly different. The first pizza was very thin and crispy. I could take the pepper on the sauce. The 2nd pizza was saucier and the crust was more airy and thick. I liked them both! You can taste that the crust is different. I believe it's made with sourdough. You can definitely tell it was cooked in a wood fired oven. Overall, I did like the pizza. I liked that the crust was crispy all the way through. I find lots of pizzas are soft and soggy in the middle. The sauce was good, I liked it was peppery.

Yum! I went here for a cute small brunch and was not disappointed. My friend and I split the Vegetable Pizza and the Kale Caesar Salad, although I had to send back the salad (because it actually had anchovies). The pizza was great. All the vegetables were not overcooked, which is hard to do on an oven-baked pizza, and the flavor was present. I can't remember which replacement salad I had but it was also good. Nothing wowed me in terms of taste but it was a really nice brunch. The service was good too. If i was in the area and craving pizza, i would definitely pop into here again.

Still trying to figure out the back story of the name Public Display of Affection (PDA), but that's a perfect reason to return for round 2. PDA on Union street in Brooklyn (gowanus-park slope area) is a cozy establishment. Dimly lit, just the right amount of seating and an pizza kitchen with a view into the kitchen. During my visit I had a cocktail - Handsome Todd which is served warm alongside cinnamon, lemon & whiskey. An awesome choice for a cold NYC winter (or soon to be) day or night. Also indulged in the Kale Caesar salad and shared a spicy lamb meatball pizza. Super yum and flavorful bites. I wish the pizza were a tad bit spicier, but that's a personal preference.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.

We ordered the egg katsu sandwich and the eggs rothko. The sandwich was very well made with a nice crisp panko crusting that didnt feel heavy on the oil, and yet still managed to have a light airy egg inside. The eggs rothko was buttery and flavorful but still managed to not feel too heavy. The broiled tomatos on the side were a nice touch to contrast the egg and toast from the main dish.
