Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Experience: 5/5 My party of three came on a Sunday evening and were able to get seated immediately. Right off the bat, service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive in filling our waters and making sure that our experience was as frictionless as possible (checking in / serving the next dish at the right time / etc). We ordered the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, samosas, and aloo paratha. The tikka masala was more tomato-y than rich in spice flavor, but the saag paneer was a really pleasant surprise. The samosas were good and so was the paratha. The portion sizes are generous, and our dishes came with basmati rice. Prior to the meal, we got some papadum (chips), which was so delicately crispy, and delicious with the sauces. At the end of the meal, our waiter gave us rice pudding as well. I had a wonderful experience, and I would recommend this place to others.

... 4 days later, and I'm still thinking about Nimbooda. While spending the afternoon around Prospect Heights, I walked by Nimbooda after finding the restaurant I intended to visit closed for repairs. Truly a happy accident! The flavors are extraordinary, and the service above and beyond. Please add Nimbooda to your list if you're visiting the neighborhood - you won't regret it!

This is my new favorite local spot for Indian food! We came on Sunday for dinner and the place was empty, so we were initially concerned, but the food and service were exceptional! Although they advertise themselves as vegetarian, they also have meat dishes. We tried their samosas as an appetizer, which were delicious. The waiter explained the different sauces to us and the presentation was nice. We also ordered 2 entrees, which served enough food to serve 3 people. They come with rice, which is a plus. The waiter even refilled our rice halfway for us. At the end, he surprised us some rice pudding desserts in these cute bowls. The rice pudding was a perfect sweetness and a refreshing way to end the meal. Overall, the meal was delicious and affordable. Im excited to come back and try some of their other dishes.

A few friends and I came here after an event nearby. The interior was nicely decorated, with brick walls, deep brown colored plush booth seating, chandeliers, and red candles on the tables. There was a calm, inviting ambience to the place. With they Yelp check-in, I was able to get a free mango lassi, which was absolutely delightfully smooth, sweet, thick and refreshing. We were served papadum, which are very thin and crispy lentil crackers. Along with it came 3 different sauces. My favorite was the dark brown one, which tasted slightly sweet. The green one was decent as well and had a more intense, savory flavor. We also got to try the cauliflower manchurian, which was tossed in spicy and sweet chutney. This was quite yummy and the cauliflower was coated in the chutney, filled with wonderful seasoning. Also, it wasn't spicy at all, which was good because I can't handle spiciness. For the main course, I chose tilapia, marinated in spices and made with a delightful almond sauce. The tilapia was extremely tender, succulent, and flavorful. The accompanying basmati rice had peas, as well as orange and red bits, was great with our meals. We were able to get refills of the rice, which was nice. I also got to try the garlic naan and coconut naan. Both were great, but I was particularly impressed by the coconut naan. The bread was perfectly fluffy, while still being slightly crisp and there was butter, along with coconut on top. The combination was sooo delicious! The service was lovely. Our waitress was welcoming and friendly. She graciously accommodated all of our requests. Prices were reasonable. I would definitely return to try some other menu offerings, such as the rack of lamb or tandoori mixed grill.

Cant really see this but its the app of fried okra. Very good

I don't go out for Indian food often so I was exctied to try this place when I saw the good reviews on yelp. I think its fairly new too. When we walked in the floors were so slippery! They must have been super waxed or something. I think it was really dangerous. I almost slipped and fell in the bathroom. Second, the manager or owner seemed really nice and into his businesses but from the dining area we could here him yell at his staff for not doing thier job correctly. The waitress seemed like a mindless drone and did not smile once. The food was pretty good and good prices too. We got fried okra and split it and it was delicious and crispy and fresh. I unlocked the yelp offer and the manager was nice to give me and my boyfriend the mango lassi. I ordered the tandoori chicken which was great. Half a chicken so had to take part of it home. I liked the mild flavor and the meat was juicy. Also heated up great the next day for dinner too. The Jasmine rice was very good also. My boyfriend had salmon in some sort of creamy sauce, it was good but the salmon to me was out of place and didn't really go with the flavor of the dish. Also got the naan with the pistachios and honey, was delicious. I recommend. Nice buttery and sweet flavor. The food is decent enough though I dont think I would come back anytime soon, so many more places to try in the area! if you go watch out for the floors!

Solid Indian food, but nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. I came here recently for dinner on a Saturday evening and there was reasonable traffic in and out. There were a few tables of two occupied, but most of their business was for pick-up. The menu here was pretty standard for an Indian restaurant, but was a bit on the pricey side for an outer borough restaurant. There were your typical Indian appetizers, entrees, chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes. My wife ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and I ordered a Saag Paneer. Both dishes came with rice, but since we were 2 people, the rice was combined into 1 big bowl for the both of us. Unfortunately, the serving sizes of the Chicken Tikka Masala ($13.95) and Saag Paneer ($11.95) were underwhelming as I expected more for the price we were paying. For the price we paid, we probably could have went to an Indian buffet, which unfortunately Brooklyn is serious lacking in. As for the flavors, the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer were OK. Nothing out of the ordinary, but nothing really bad either. The Chicken Tikka Masala could have used much more chicken though. There were probably like 5 pieces of small sliced up chicken in it. In addition, we also cashed in on a free Mango Lassi courtesy of our Yelp check-ins. Unfortunately, we weren't given a large glass as per a regular order of Mango Lassi, but instead received small glasses of it. With that said, the Mango Lassi drinks were too thick for our liking and needed to be blended more. To be honest, Nimbooda wasn't our top choice as we were hoping to eat at the Sapid restaurant dinner buffet that evening, but they had ended the buffet deal the weekend before, so we settled for Nimbooda. Settled being the key word because that's what it felt like after our meal here.

This little whole in the wall was an amazing Indian restaurant! My 2 friends and I came here for lunch after a day at the Brooklyn Museum. We were greeted and seated right away, the waitress was very attentive. She started us off with complimentary crispy bread and several sauces. For appetizers we got delicious cauliflower manchurian which was sweet and spicy, crispy okra which was cooked to perfection, and samosas that were very tasty. We shared our mains which were saag paneer (lots of paneer and such creamy spinach), chana masala (this was perfectly spiced and cooked so the chickpeas were super soft), and lastly dal makhani which was lentils in a sauce. I was also given a complimentary glass of mango Lassi drink which was great. I recommend this place very much, there is something for everybody. We had vegetarians in our group and we were very satisfied and even had extras to bring home!

My second time coming back to this place for some nice Indian food at a reasonable price. It was spacious enough for a group of people to sit down and eat, which is why we chose this place. The waiter was very nice, and he even let us try the cauliflower Manchurian which was so delicious. We couldn't finish all the food because it was a lot of food so we were very full!

We chose bar seating, which ended up being a bit of a tight squeeze facing the wall; not the most comfortable setup, but manageable for a short meal. To start, we had the pani puri, followed by the samosa chaat. The flavors were good, but the samosa chaat was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't served hot, and the samosa itself was soggy rather than crisp. That contrast in texture is really what makes the dish shine, so it felt like it may have sat a bit too long or was over-sauced. We also tried the vegetable pav, which was decent, and the cod, which was actually very good; nicely cooked with a flavorful sauce. I did find myself wishing we had an extra roti to soak up the rest. For drinks, I had the mango lassi, which I appreciated for not being overly sweet. Service was okay but could be more attentive. My water wasn't refilled after a couple of rounds, and we felt a bit rushed toward the end of the meal. We were given the check without being asked about dessert, which caught us off guard. We did ask afterward, but by then decided to go elsewhere. That said, the food overall is flavorful, and I can see why this place has appeal; especially if you're looking for something a little different in the neighborhood.
