I had such a wonderful, unexpected customer service experience at the store today 4/15. I would give the customer service a 10/10! Feeling kinda down on tax day I went into the store to find spaghetti squash to cook for dinner. I couldn't find it so I purchased butternut squash. The cashier I think her name was Rain. She was so sweet and asked what I was going to make with the butternut squash and I said I wasn't sure because I really wanted spaghetti squash. She called the produce department and asked if there was any spaghetti squash and they were able to find some for me. She exchanged the butternut squash for the spaghetti squash. I hope this worker is rewarded. I felt like I was in a local small owned business. I will definitely be back. read more

I've seen Natural Grocers locations around the valley for years but I finally made it in for a visit this week... I was seeking an iced tea before picking my daughter up from school and popped in to check it out. I found a fair selection of beverages as well as checked out their supplements, produce and so many other fresh, organic, vegan + other products too. The staff was friendly and helpful. The store itself has a bit of a weird layout and seems like it could use a renovation, but the current state adds to the hippy, natural, co-op feel. I found a kombucha and made a mental note to return to support this business in the future! They have quite the history and while there are many competitors in the area, I love supporting more local, family owned businesses. NG offers some fun events, nutritional health coaches on staff, and has a community feel which I like. I'll be back! read more

I come here a few times a month to restock on my groceries (their prices are a lot better than WF or Sprouts) and have a great time. The items I need, and it seems most items, are well stocked and the employees are always friendly. I've been buying my supplements at Natural Grocers for a long time. I think they have a good selection and the expiration dates on products ensure they will still be good while taking them. Unfortunately, I've discovered that the supplements I have been buying there are not just a "few cents" higher than other stores. I was charged $60+ for a Probiotic, and the Saw Palmetto I recently purchased was $7.90 higher than two other stores. I feel there must be a considerable mark up on products and it's taking advantage of their consumers. I understand paying the higher price was my fault for not shopping around before purchasing, however, I can guarantee it won't happen again. read more

Wow. Whole foods is by far cheaper and the quality of their produce is superior and you don't feel like you might get sick from the quality! I imagine, if you ever even got service that it would be awful. Have you heard of a disinfectant? This place is super dirty and kinda gross. read more

Ok, so maybe it's not as glamorous as Whole Food but it is a GREAT store. ALL PRODUCE is organic! Really fresh and beautiful. Unlike Whole foods the prices are better and the staff is SO much nicer. Natural Grocers is the only grocery store in the greater Phoenix area that carries Straus' Non-Fat European style yogurt. I drive from Cave Creek to buy this yogurt. The staff is always willing to check that this is actually in-stock when I call, as I don't want to make the long drive to Natural Grocers without making sure it is in-stock. I appreciate the staff going out of their way to check for me. read more

I recently purchased their Flax4Life Carrot Raisin Muffins thinking they were Vegan. It wasn't until I brought them home that my Vegan daughter pointed out they contain egg whites. Reason for post is to make people aware that just because something is dairy-free doesn't mean it is Vegan. Lesson learned. My mistake. The cashiers will overcharge you for produce. They do it all the time and sometimes do not discount items that are on sale.

What can I say, I have been missing to visit this place for years!!! The staff is really nice and it's helpful, you can feel the vibe around. The store is well a stock with a WIDE variety of products, that I haven't find in another store in Arizona. I really loved the dairy / eggs options and the ham/ cheese section. What a gem! My UBER driver (thanks Shannon) recommended this place when she saw I was traveling to WholeFoods! And thank God! I wish there were more of these wonderful stores around! I live in North Phoenix but travel to Scottsdale (the closest one to me) about 3-4 times a month to find great deals and always fresh and organic products. They also started selling Oatly recently which makes me very happy. The store itself is always clean and well organized with lots of products you can't find at other stores. The prices are most times cheaper than Whole Foods and Sprouts. They have friendly staff that is always willing to ask if you need help and then actually genuinely help if you need it. The only "negative" experience I ever had was I asked if they could carry a product that they used to sell and was told they would follow-up with me but I have never heard back and that was several months ago. I found Natural Grocers when I was looking online for good pricing for a staple item and was surprised to see that Natural Grocers beat the pricing on the web (where they have no brick and morter to pay for). They also have some off-the-beaten-path local brands and I love supporting small business. Whole Foods may brag about having 1-2 local items, that they usually place at the front of the store, but Natural Grocers has local and small business made items throughout the store. And, of course, if you're looking for natural, healthy, wholesome food without additives, this is your mecca. I look forward to coming back. I just LOVE this store! First of all, I love that all of their produce is 100% organic. I also love that they don't mess around with products that might "look" healthy, but are really full of GMO's and chemicals. They really have the best selection of vitamins and supplements and the whole staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that there aren't more of these stores around the valley. I just received a call from Natural Grocers stating that I had won a raffle and to come in and retrieve my gift. I had to pick up some groceries today so I went in. I waited 20 MINUTES for someone to help me. I received my "prize" but it must have been from Aunt Ethel's attic because it has stains and is covered in dust. Not worth the call to pick up a prize. If you're going to give someone something such as a "prize" it should be clean and worthy of giving away. It looks to be from a garage sale. Really glad to see a new health food store in the area! Loved the way it was set up, plus there were some pretty good deals. Not a huge produce section, but there's a good amount of stuff. Gotta be careful though and look at prices because some of the things were like $6 per pound. Like yellow peppers were way more than red which I didn't expect! Also theres a ton of vitamins and supplements. And some samples of different things too! Mostly of powders to mix into drinks. But also dog treat samples, and fresh fruit! They had a lot of cool snacks and products that I hadn't seen before. Some brands that I haven't seen carried at other health food stores such as Sprouts or Whole Foods. Decided to try out chickpea chips and vegan nacho sauce that I hadn't tried before, and I'm super excited to eat them! Another good thing was that there was not too many people there. Most stores like that are busy on a Sunday afternoon, but there wasn't a ton of people shopping which was nice. I mean, I hope they get good business though because they deserve it. Another thing I liked was that they packed the groceries in recycled boxes. That'd probably be a pain if you had a ton of groceries, but I only had a few things so it was perfect. Very impressed! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much. I went in based off of the Yelp reviews. I typically shop at Sprouts and Trader Joes. This store has a HUGE selection of unique organic brands. Some less costly, some more. They also have a wonderful selection of beauty products. You can sign up for their loyalty club to get points for every time you shop. The only thing I did not like was their selection of produce, it was tiny and they literally only had one option for organic lettuce. Usually, I get a huge bag of the "Power mix" at sprouts for $5 and it'll last me 6-9 salads. The one option they had was a little container for $5 that would make maybe 2-3 salads. Besides that, I'd highly recommend, the selection of everything else, including supplements is vast. Also- customer service is stellar. Check it out! read more

Came to Natural Grocers for the first time to shop watched the employees have an encounter with a customer who refused to wear a mask, the customer putting up a very hard fight about not wearing one even wanted them to sign something that she wrote up herself so she didn't have to wear a mask. After a long hard fight the customer lost the battle and left without shopping because she couldn't follow the rules. I have driven past Natural Grocers many times on my way to Sprouts. Never really noticed it. I finally went in after reading good Yelp reviews. I was delighted with their stellar customer service! A+ Every employee I passed greeted me and asked if they could help me find anything. I hate getting frustrated in a new store searching for things! They have their own generic brand of supplements and also a lovely bath & shower area. Cons are the produce section is very limited, there's no prepared food items, and no beer or wine. Also, I buy raw meat for my dogs and there's only a tiny selection of packaged meats. The store is closer to me than Sprouts, so I'll definitely stop in but I'd need to go elsewhere for my full shopping list. I signed up for their loyalty program and will be back. read more
