Visited this store today and asked the clerk to double bag my Torani bottles. She told me they don't let them double bag. She said their bags are strong and will not break. Sorry World Market but the items I purchased can also be purchased on Amazon. If you can't double bag for me, my other option is to purchase them on Amazon, where I get FREE shipping and I don't have to put miles on my car or spend my gas. Well, how have I never been in this store before? I don't know. But, I just happened to wander in here during the holiday season and I was in the store for at least an hour. So much fun. So many unique items. The amount of candy and chocolate in here for the holidays was insane so I grabbed the hard to find marzipan that my mom loves. Clearly, a lot of people love it too. So, if you are looking for niederegger lubek classic marzipan- I found it!! The woman at the checkout counter was so friendly and helped me get a discount on checkout. Great stop. Horrible experience at this store. Do not feel like I am in Scottsdale anymore in sense of service quality. At the checkout manager threw my purchase (which had some breakable things) like as garbage in the plastic bag. When I complained he gave me a dirty look and ask to leave the store. Who did? Manager! He is the one who should show an excellent customer service. I called the corporate office and if they do not fix that issue I never come back to WM. read more

I purchased two large cabinets from World Market and needed them ASAP. Ten days after placing the order, I called the online ordering telephone number and they told me it would be another 3 weeks before I could pick it up in Scottsdale. I called the manager, Adam in Scottsdale and asked if I could buy the floor model, which Adam told me was not available for resale. He then checked his incoming orders and said he thought my cabinets would be on the truck the following Monday. Sure enough, he called me on Monday morning and told me I could come get them! I really appreciated his diligence and follow up to ensure that I received my cabinets (which by the way, I love!). Great store, good prices and exemplary customer service!! read more

This was my first time ever visiting the World Market in Scottsdale and I was genuinely excited to check it out. Unfortunately, the checkout experience completely ruined it for me. The cashier, Anca, incorrectly rang up my purchase and charged me twice for one item. I noticed something was off and checked my receipt on the way out. As soon as I saw the error, I walked back in, literally one minute later, to get it corrected. She was helping another customer, so I asked another employee for help. Anca then called me back over and processed the refund, but instead of apologizing, she made excuses for why it happened. Not a single "sorry" for overcharging me or for the inconvenience. On top of that, I had purchased glass items, and she didn't wrap any of them. As I walked away, I could feel them clinking together and almost breaking. It was careless and honestly pretty stressful. Overall, this was my very first impression of World Market, and if this is their level of customer service, it's incredibly disappointing. No apology, no "have a nice day," nothing. I left feeling frustrated and I will never return. read more

Had a rather frustrating experience. They do not have UPC codes on few products and when we reached counter to pay, the associate was having a hard time communicating with her to get that from another associate. They do think customers have all day to sort this out especially when store wasn't busy and there were associates who were nowhere to be located for product availability. Many shelves were empty but nobody around to check stock even. So we left the items and walked out. read more

For some reason this location is completely incapable of fulfilling pickup orders. I have tried multiple times, ordering things delivered to the store and also ordering things that are labeled as having multiple in stock and every single time they cancel at least one item, usually the entire order with the justification "we couldn't find it". This most recent time, the item I wanted (a light cord) had multiple items in stock for MONTHS, not a seasonal item, not on sale, nothing special about it but apparently within like 3 hours they either sold out of every single one or took a cursory glance and decided they didn't want to fill the order. And they do this every single time. I'm not the type to complain but I literally have not had a single good experience. The store is just like any other if you walk in but for the love of god do not attempt a pickup order. read more

This is one of my favorite stores whether I shop in CO, VA, or AZ. I find great gifts for me and others, books, puzzles, unique pens, clothes, or foodstuff. I have a handy desk from here and bought a small sofa that has lasted over 5 years. The quality is obviously good. There is so much cool stuff here! I even found some candy that I grew up with in Europe! to my surprise and also disappointment, they do sell some espresso beans but the roast date was like five months ago! The price was somewhat outrageous too and the coffee was just awful In taste. What a waste of money that was.! I probably should stick to some better known brands like illy and Lavazza. I LOVE world market! After weeks of searching I finally found the perfect couch here. Unfortunately the only available one at that location was the floor model. But, Jennifer, Riyan, and Maddie, were so helpful in not only getting the couch together they also helped load it into my car in this heat. 3.5/5 Curbside pickup review. All I wanted was an egg slicer! But then I took home enough chocolate to make even Willy Wonka jealous and didn't even end up with said slicer. Yes, my friends of the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild, there were some crazy sales going on here for not only candy, chocolate, slicers and dicers, but basically every genre of item they sell in the store. My current egg slicer broke and I looked online and saw a nice looking one at Cost Plus that was in stock with 3 available at the Scottsdale location. I also had a very generous e-mail coupon for 30% off your entire order ready and waiting so I got some good deals lined up. Placing the order was easy online and it took maybe 90 minutes before I received an e-mail and text saying my goods were ready. Unfortunately, despite saying the egg slicer was in stock on their website, it actually wasn't, in addition to a few other items I had ordered that also were supposed to be in stock. The Scottsdale location is pretty far from where I live and they were out of stock in Tempe so I basically had to make the trek up to Scottsdale to get all these items except the one I actually really wanted. Oh well, c'est la vie. When I got to the store there was only one non-handicapped spot right in front of the store, and of course it was already taken. This made it a bit tricky trying to figure out where to park without holding up traffic. Once I parked and called the store it was only a few short minutes before the friendly employee came out and dropped off my goods right into the car. I gave it to 3 stars because I love this store! It has so many different International types of food and products. Unique things for the home I love it! I could spend 5 hours in there looking at everything. But let's be realistic I was with my husband! Lol darn! . I was very happy they did have my Australian ginger beer! But I was very disappointed when we got to the register that there was a 20% discount coupon that I could use if I was a member . Which I am because my phone number is in the system but I had not received a text. So the cashier K####### did not give me the discount. Which at every other store they always give you added the discount. Because it's good customer service and they want to put that smile on your face. I've been to several Cost Plus World Market locations around the valley, and for the most part they are pretty similar. Service is ok, the rewards are fun, but I wish it didn't take $200 to get World Explorer rewards. I imagine if you find a lot of furniture here, it's quick to get up there. I don't really have any furniture needs and find myself usually getting snacks and knickknacks - so $200 takes awhile. On my last visit I picked up some delicious Korean BBQ sauce, chocolate and Clearly Canadian. I haven't had Clearly Canadian since I was a kid and while it brought back memories I certainly wouldn't buy this often because of the sugar. I wish they would come up with a stevia version or something so I didn't have so much guilt drinking it. The Tcho chocolate by the way is out of this world and I'm hooked. The chocolate coins were just for fun for the holidays because they are so pretty. I like to stop by Cost Plus World Market every once in awhile, because you never know what you will find there. read more

This store seems to have issues with minorities (as other reviewers have already pointed out). My wife works at a restaurant in the area. She arrived for work early yesterday and decided to stop in to kill time. As she reached the clearance section, a tall, thin woman began following her around the store. She never asked if my wife needed help, just took it upon herself to follow her around. Obviously, this made my wife incredibly uncomfortable. I've already contacted corporate about the situation and hope that the manager will do the right thing and contact me back. This shouldn't be happening in 2021, but I'm also not very surprised that it did. I will never do business with this company again. read more

Only issue I had here, my bf & I came from a nice brunch from a restaurant near by. We recently moved in this area and have been looking for the perfect pieces of furniture for our new place so decided to check out this place. dressed nicely, hair nice, looked very presentable.. but two workers kept staring at us. And in a seemingly condescending way, constantly checking on us, and glancing at us from across the store, when there were many other patrons there. Made us quite uncomfortable but we still went about our way looking around. Now to the store it's self because we weren't going to let that ruin our experience completely. Aww man you can get lost in this place. There are so many things to look at and all so different and interesting. They have such a wide variety of things lol. They have foods/snacks/drinks/coffee/chocolate knacks all from various countries that you wouldn't be able to get at your local grocery stores. They have very beautiful furniture with so many different styles, you're sure to like one the pieces. Styles from modern, to classic, to boho, to chic, and the list goes on. They have so many different items in the kitchen/cooking section I was definitely lost there for a good 35 mins. They have the Japanese style ramen bowls, Indian style layered silver takeaways, and I could go on and on honestly. We really like Cost Plus World Markets! We have been going here for only three years but have been shopping at CPWM in several different sates for over fifteen years. They have hard to find food items from overseas markets (hence the name) as well as furniture, household items and wines. The prices seem very reasonable and they now have introduced a frequent shoppers system that tracks how much you have spent, offers you points and even sends you emails when there is a sale coming up. I have been in town for a month visiting all the way from Charlotte, NC. Honestly... this world market is nothing like the ones I've been to in Charlotte. This was a very organized store, with a lot of things to look at and everything was displayed very neatly. My only issue was finding someone to help me. I was looking for something very particular and I didn't ask at first. I like to try and figure things out on my own. I don't rely on others assistant the moment I walk in. I walked all over the store, very slowly, taking notice at everything they had. During my walk... I didn't see a single employee walking around, just the 1 who was up at the register. I came at about 1pm so I know it wasn't the time of day... after looking for someone who worked there, I finally got ahold of someone. The item I was looking for wasn't available anymore in the way I wanted it. I was looking for those stackable coffee mugs. (But the larger ones). They had them, just all in white. I wanted the ones in color. Luckily I found them at another location. The lady at check out was very friendly. I wish I remembered her name. She was a little older. First, I want to say that the employees are nice and the food selection is always interesting. I usually do my shopping online now, but decided to head in and hunt for a unique gift. On my way to the kids toys, there were books promoting people and subjects that should not be by the kids toys. Political propaganda praising people who should be in jail. As I went on, I noticed the over all feel of the store was dirty and dusty and quite a few things I noticed were broken. We were stopped at the door and not allowed to shop without a mask. The state has lifted any mask mandates but the associate said it was their company policy. I believe in freedom of choices. Masks are germ spreaders, everyone touches them and then touches items on the shelf, carts, counters etc. I will not be forced to wear a mask and definitely not force my children to wear them. read more

WOW...that was my expression we i spotted this World Market in "The Promenade" shopping center after having some great frozen yogurt at "The Golden Spoon", which i will be reviewing later. The last two World Markets i visited...one in Michigan...and one in the Chicagoland area...were both going out of business. I thought several more be going out of business as well...so i was extremely pleased to see this one so close to wear i live here in Arizona. Now this store is not for everyone...even though it has something for everyone. It truly is a "World" market...they have items from all over the world. Some of those items include furniture...rugs....china...all kinds of food...desserts....wines...and various other trinkets that will excite your senses so to speak. Some of the items are a bit expensive...while other items are very affordable. Some food items you could find cheaper at your local grocery store...but for example Jasmine rice...which i love...is surprisingly cheaper here than at all other grocery stores in the valley. While i don't drink...my wife found some great wine there for as low as 5.99 per bottle. They even have some candy from your childhood that they put on clearance...for example i bought some Chunky Bars which usually go for 2 bucks for the giant size one...for only 50 cents....wohoooooo!!! So if your ever in Scottsdale and want to experience a little taste of World Culture...please visit the World Market...you will not be disappointed. I've been all over and Cost Plus World Market has the best selection. Then I asked Larry Chastain for assistance. He styled my dishes in no time on a convenient table right there.
