So...since my last review, we had another disgusting experience. (SEPARATE from the disgusting ground beef experience that I previously posted pictures of.) I had some steak from this Albertsons. First bite was very off. Mushy texture, tasted bad, smelled like feces. Turns out it was a huge abscess in the meat that the butcher at this Albertsons puts out for people to buy and consume. I didn't purchase it myself and asked where it came from after the repulsive bite of the cooked abscess, aka "pocket of pus" from a sick cow. OF COURSE it came from this Albertsons! One of the MOST disgusting experiences of my life! Shame on this store again and again! ALSO they are now implementing DYNAMIC PRICING. If I could add every swear word to this review, I would. But I'm sure it would be taken down, so I'll bite my tongue. Expired groceries, rotten meat, infected meat and now corrupt pricing practices. They're always clean, and they have good deals for rewards members. The staff are friendly and helpful. I will say the guys at the deli counter aren't always super eager to help me or other customers (sometimes I come and they say they're closed, so maybe their website hours are incorrect for the deli counter). But they always do a great job at slicing my meat as thin as humanly possible (I got hella sensory issues and like it falling apart). read more

UPDATE: Someone sent me pictures that the hole has been sealed, and said that the cart area had been cleaned. I have added the new photo to show that the bird hole has been closed. BIRD POOP ON THE SHOPPING CARTS!! I've stopped shopping here because of a potential biohazard issue. By the east side entrance, they keep carts outside. Over these carts is an overhang on the building. In the ceiling of this overhang is a large hole that birds use as a shelter, and they poop all over the grocery carts. Bird poop. Bird flu. I wrote Albertsons on facebook and they said they'd take care of it. All the store did was shove some loose cardboard up there, and the birds defeated immediately, and we're still pooping on the carts. I wrote again, and was assured it would be fixed. Nothing has been done. It's been almost two months since I first wrote Albertsons on March 11, 2025. They've not done anything to fix it correctly. I've notified the health department. read more

**READ BEFORE YOU SHOP HERE** This Albertsons is apparently spending too much on plastic bags...so instead of charging like every other grocery store, they REMOVED ALL GROCERY BAGS FROM THE STORE. Huge mistake and HUGE over correction. There weren't even reusable bags available for me to purchase, just large bulk bags that were the height and size of a small teenager. People were walking out with their groceries in their hands. I shop alone, and buy too much to carry without bags, so I had to pile everything in the 3ft paper bag that was my only option. Corporate NEEDS to fix this. Absolutely the wrong decision, because I only went the that Albertsons out of convenience. I have a Bashas and Fry's too close to experience this again. Most Supermarkets from the 1980s are long gone. Currently there is almost no choices in American chains. KROGER, Walmart, Bashas and Food City. I had hoped with Kroger buying Albertson's and Safeway, Albertson's might have improved. With few customers maneuvering isles is more pleasant. Some personnel are excellent and a fair number who are not. Currently I buying strictly sale items. The parking lot is sometimes a pond. The savings are very good. For this shopper there is no draw. The only thing I feel is positive are the large number of new local apartment buildings. It may allow for store improvements. Currently I mostly go to Mesa, Tempe, Chandler for groceries. read more

This grocery store has always been below standards. But today was unbelievable. 8pm, I stopped by to pick up a few items, they had ZERO registers open, only self checkout. I had a good experience at this Albertsons. We stopped in here to get some food for a party, and all, and it was on point. Nice store in the area, and the deli area was good Ordered 8 piece chicken with everything . Love the Potatoe salad here. I found everything I pretty much needed. Whenever I go to the store and check out, an older man who works in the self-checkout area deliberately stops what he is doing to watch me as I scan my items. I usually visit the store daily and have never stolen anything. Today, he was not alone; another employee joined him in watching me. I even heard the supervisor ask the other employee if he had counted their till; they could have done that instead of judging me and assuming I was going to steal simply because I am a female who happens to be African American. It's frustrating because he only seems to watch me, ignoring everyone else checking out. This behavior makes me uncomfortable. As an African American woman, I often feel scrutinized in stores, even though I have never stolen anything. Next time, I plan to get his name, report him to corporate, and continue advocating for fair treatment. I wish people would understand that not everyone who looks like me is a thief. I just came to buy some fruit before work. read more

Wow, this Albertson's Yelp reviews are all over the map, evenly dispersed between all the stars. Well this 5 star one is just for Tom, the older gentleman who works in the seafood counter. Today, snow crab was on sale for $5.77. I asked him to pick me the largest pieces from the freezer box (not the glass case, which he said were all the lousy pieces), and then rinse the ice off, before the final weigh, so I don't pay $5.97 for water. Tom said he would do anything that I ask him to do, and that he did. He was very diligent and upbeat in his service to me. Tom's cheerful seafood counter service made my Happy New Year 2024, start off eating snow crab, which is a Chinese tradition. We love shellfish! read more

This location was recently remodeled. Still not the covered parking upgrades of the Safeway and Albertsons nearby on Hayden. However, the updates made my grocery shopping here just a little less feeling like a chore. Starting at the end of 2019, Albertsons / Safeway started to have better grocery ad sales than Fry's Food. They have become my grocery of choice since then. I would like to see Safeway / Albertsons go back to the open until midnight hours that they had before Covid. At least Fry's stays open until 11pm. (I would like them to return to midnight also, admittedly) Also, check out their free coupon item you can load on Saturdays. Always fun to try something new. Not sure how long this will continue, but had been going on for a couple months now. read more

After my first visit ever to Albertsons to get basic groceries, I can conclude that this store is not for me. Poorly illuminated parking lot with potholes, in raggedy looking building on the outside is contrasted with nice and bright lights on the inside. On the surface everything is fine until you start looking at the specifics. Most importantly, this grocery store has more selection of beer, wine, champagne, and hard liquor than meats, fish, eggs and milk. In fact I was a bit surprised about the abundance of liquor and poor choices in the frozen vegetable section. It should be a no surprise that this grocery store carries Cristal Champagne ($300+ per bottle retail), while I could not find black olives which are not packed in a can? Also deli section is rather poor and they prefer for customers to buy already pre-packaged deli selections. If you like to cook as I do, and are particular on ingredients for your next meal, this store is definitively not it. On the flip side, if you want good drinks and some snacks, this is the place. read more

Very convenient location and I was able to get in and out within 10 minutes with everything I needed .The self service checkout was convenient but I had to constantly ask for help from the attendant as something or the other kept being an issue , perhaps a bad machine .Parking is out front and not covered . read more

I ordered a cake for 11/18 and was suppose to be for 35-40 people. When I initially met with the baker, I was told to expect the cake to be $100+. I agreed and also texted the baker on their personal phone an image that was suppose to be printed on the top layer of the cake (they advised the printer was working). My sister went to pickup the cake for me on 11/18 and it was NOT what I was told. The cake itself was for 10-15 people (just imagine the size). We had to purchase another cake since it wasn't going to be enough. The top layer of the cake was completely blank, nothing printed on top as i was promised. Overall, horrible experience. I don't know why I paid for something that was not done correctly. I could have gone to a local baker or a small business but instead I came here because my family usually gets cakes and they are always accurate. To say I was extremely dissatisfied is an understatement. Why did I have to purchase another cake because the bakers didn't communicate with one another? I had completely written this store off because of manipulative marketing in the past, but after a few quick drop ins here is some of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly! Lets start with the Ugly! It actually isn't, this unit on Thomas and Scottsdale Rd sports a brand new face lift with hardwood and modern vinyl tile floors, updated lighting, a fresh new refurbished deli, and it's isles are named after area roads like Civic Center or Camelback instead of regular numbers. The Bad, along with the fresh new interior they still have the doors to the N/E locked and blocked, so one set of doors it is. The other downfall is the prices, I guess the closer to Camelback you get the higher the prices, because its extremely noticeable that almost everthing is more expensive then my regular grocer. Now for the good, someone taught these folks The Safeway Smile, for the first time it was noticeable the the crew seemed happy! They also worked out the bugs on the Just4U promotional items. The system now works and the savings can be great. The store was also busy, it never has been but the last 2 trips in, and I'm noticing more people then ever. read more

05/13/2024 charged twice for grocery curb side pick up. i have called albertsons cs two times to have the issue corrected. both times i was on hold for approx 30 mins. and never spoke to anyone. i had to have my bank reverse the 2nd charge. the audacity of this company to think that i would not check my bank account. 05/15/2024 i cl alberstons cs and spoke to female that is not in the united states 800-505-4040. she said i had to cl my bank to correct the 2nd fraudulent charge. i was not sent an email or text to let me know that they do this. my experience: beware of alberstons grocery. they double charge the customer, disabled, senior citizen, on limited income and the customer has to file fraud charges with bank. no telling when you will get your money back. albertsons will over draw your bank account by double charging, without a degree of concern and blame the bank! I will not shop at Albertson again. You have lost this customer. read more

When I shop I use reusable bags. I went to the self checkout and grabbed out everything but the alcohol so that transaction would be expensed. Before I could even finish that payment a big white lady in a pink shirt came up to me about the items still in my reusable bag. I was still paying? I wasn't walking out, I'm just doing two transactions. She could of waited to see but chose to humiliate a customer for no reason and get a bad review. I hope she is not a training manager, I work in customer service and I would be embarrassed to have this kind of person on my staff. read more

The "Just 4 You" sucks! Not only does it not work right, when you call customer support they give you the run around. I even screen shot the discount offer and they still would not honor it. In comparison, I had a problem at Fry's and their customer support was very understanding and immediately made everything right! Hint: If you find a great offer on Just 4 You, it is probably in a different region of the country and the website will allow you to click it and you think it was recorded, but it is not and will not be honored. But customer support will not admit they have a problem and honor the sale price. read more

Everyone I've been I see strange men with backpacks or bags going in and out of the bathroom.Like is it a drug drop off point or what? Once I had to use the bathroom in the store cause of my toddler, and when we came out there were 3 men waiting to use the bathroom, all of them creepy. Busy location, but great deals. We got a tres leches cake from the bakery and it was really good! We are picky when it comes to that cake and we really enjoyed the one we purchased here. I would give 4.5 stars for the store itself so this lower score is for the pharmacist and the workers at the pharmacy. They are very dismissive. It starts with the manager, so I guess that's why they all do it. Ask a polite question while you are supposedly being helped and he stares at his computer pretending not to hear. When you ask it again he continues to stare at his computer while answering. Not a people person - that's not too bad, but all of them ignore you, don't look at you, refuse to answer politely asked, reasonable questions. I have been there many times and was asked this last time for my medicare card which is not a problem. I simply asked if there was a way for my information to be kept on file. No answer and the pharmacy assistant ignored me and ran around doing other things even though I had an appointment. There was no one else in line the entire time we were there. My husband also on medicare and who was never there before, was not asked for his card. I, again politely, asked why that was. No explanation for a reasonable question. Zero customer service and zero respect. I am tired of having to put up with being treated dismissively. It's not the way the rest of the store treats customers. Perhaps the store manager could give a little talk to their pharmacy staff and ask them to show a little respect for those they serve. That may make it better for you. I'm not going back. read more

The store is on a very busy corner by downtown Scottsdale. The parking can get a little crowded when the gym next door is full after work. The store is clean and roomy. Wells Fargo and an ATM is located inside the store. The prices aren't great, but location is excellent. I can find items on sale at Albertsons at non-sale prices at other stores. Several times I've bought items that were expired. I wish they would check their inventory a little better. I really hate their coupons/ads that force you to buy a certain quantity or dollar amount. I wish they had wi-fi in the store so I can access my Albertson app grocery list without using my Internet data. The selection at this store isn't as good as the one in North Scottsdale. read more

The few times a year when bone-in rib eyes are on sale for less than $6 a lb, I make a freezer run. We're taking 2" thick cut bone in steaks. I foodsaver them. 1 steak is 2-3 meals for us. Sales like the one happening this weekend, I would call in my order and then head over after work or drive over if it's the weekend and grab my meat and go. Calling ahead saves me time having to wait for the butcher to be available and wait for my order. Pretty disappointed though. I just called to place a cut order for 6 steaks. Needed flip flops. Bought flip flops. Place is nice but prices are slightly higher. Lots of older people who take too long to check out. For various reasons. We have the "change finders" who have to look in their tiny purses for exact change. We have the motorized wheelchair cart people who get five things but take an hour, and we also have the "so bored that I have to make a conversation out of everything" people. These are the worst because they will not even take their money out of their wallet until they have their conversation. But they have food. They have beer and wine. And flip flops. read more

I have been a long time Albertsons and Safeway shopper. Over the past few months, I have had multiple occasions where my Albertson's app did not correctly apply digital deals and coupons. Some of the cashiers were helpful, others extremely rude. On a previous shopping trip there was over $50 in savings not applied. The clerk at the service counter assisted me, but it should not fall on her (or my) shoulders to have my grocery bill ring up correctly. This morning I stopped in before work. There was a long line for the only checker (the woman who has been incredibly rude and unhelpful to myself and many other customers) so I decided to do self check. Low and behold, only one of my coupons/digital deals rang up correctly. The woman at the self check tried to assist and showed me MULTIPLE steps that I need to go through so I am not overcharged. Why can't I just clip the coupons and have them work like at Frys? In frustration, I left my entire cart and walked out. I apologize for this, that is not my style. I stopped at the deli department and there was a girl working. She didn't say hi or I'll be with you in a minute, nothing. There was an older gentleman there and he didn't acknowledge me either. Then a guy comes in, says hi to the male worker in back and he helps him while I still waited. Then the male worker goes back to the back. The girl eventually helped and was nice but c'mon, it doesn't take much to say I'll be with you in a second. So frustrating that I might not go to that one anymore. read more

I thought I was sooooo clever writing about this place and being all useful but Max A. already beat me to the punch. Shop here any time of the day or night for groceries and you will be assaulted with the highest concentration on eye candy in the known Phoenix-Metro area. It's better than the Safeway near ASU. It's completely rad. I've never successfully picked up a lady in a grocery store because, frankly, I don't look very wholesome and that's a place where it seems like you need to be to be successful, but if you're a guy in a suit or work out clothes going to or coming from the LA Fitness up the road you might have a chance.
