I am writing about my experience because it might help someone avoid having to throw away something they bought at this supermarket. If you are already familiar with the product, go ahead and buy it; however, this isn't the place to try anything new. The labels often feature photos that make an item look sweet, only for it to turn out to be the exact opposite. The manager and cashiers are rude and unfriendly, and they do not speak fluent English. They won't give you a refund or store credit for something that turns out to be different from what you expected. So, be careful--you'll essentially be throwing your money away. These companies don't lose money; they should be much friendlier and offer refunds when a customer returns a product because the taste is inedible. Their culture isn't a generous one--quite the opposite; they lie easily and care about nothing other than making money. There are many businesses like this in the world; it's best to just stay away from them because the energy isn't good. I wonder if they have someone deleting the negative reviews and leaving only the positive ones, because if you notice, people only seem to say good things about this supermarket. Excellent selection of products and produce from all over the world, not just Asian countries. I saw some eastern European selections as well as Middle Eastern and African choices. Their produce is excellent. They had fresh mangosteen and lychee. I saw stuff I had not seen since I was a child. It has that old school grocery store feel; I felt like I was walking the aisles and shopping with my great grandmother back in the day. The service is excellent. Lee Lee to me is more than a supermarket but also a place to learn so much about new food items from around the world and expand one's cooking and food horizons. It's a huge store that a food geek like me can spend a couple hours in just looking at the different items and reading about them on my phone. My favorite thing about it is that in addition to the large Asian selections from different countries they also have big sections for non asian countries- African, Middle Eastern, European etc. Tons of new ingredients to try, fresh noodles, vegan/ vegetarian items, curry pastes, sauces. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! I hadn't been to Lee Lee's since it was acquired by a new company so it was interesting to see what's changed. A big issue I had before was that items often lacked shelf labels in English & since a lot of their products are imported, their packaging is in different languages so for those of us who wanted to try new products, it was a somewhat risky endeavor lol Now, pretty much all shelves had labels in English under the products. Super helpful & really made a difference during my latest shopping trip. The place also smelled fresher than it used to. Wow this market is amazing and has at least 5 different bananas including one from Hawaii. And don't forget the sales. You can get deals for a bag of veges or bananas for $1. So many different Asian snacks and fruit and veggies. Rice noodles and fresh seafood and dishes and cute cups. Free open parking. read more

I did a shopping here recently for the first time in a few years. I bought a package of peanuts and eight jars of Zergut dips and spreads, each one a different kind. For me at least, this is not a good store to do a general grocery shopping, but it's a good place to find a few specific items. Checkout was fast. read more

This is a very large asian grocery store. There were tons of produce and vegetables. We did buy some apricots that did go bad within a day or so so just be careful when selecting your produce. There was so much to see and we didn't get to go down every aisle as the store is massive. They also had a lot of frozen food and sea food which we didn't check out. The store was quiet and there were many employees stocking products around the store. There was a steady stream of customers. The check out was quick and the employee was friendly. OK. I'm spoiled. I've shopped at a great H Mart in Houston and loved it. I had hoped for something at least in the ballpark here. I was sorely disappointed. I was specifically looking for mochi and a few other desserts along with Ramune. Came out empty handed. They only had mochi ice cream not actual Mochi. The Ramune selection wasn't even as good as World Market. Please give us an H Mart in Tucson. read more

Wow. I spent 2 1/2 hours in this place. 45 minutes of it was in the produce section. I watch a lot of cooking shows and this place had most of the weird items used in the shows, that I've never seen anywhere else in Tucson. I love Kimchi and there was a huge section of it. I bought the red Kimchi and also green which I had never seen before. They had kumquats which I haven't seen in a grocery store in years, so I bought them as well (they are delicious). The dry grocery section of the store is somewhat disorganized, There are spices in 4 or 5 different places/aisles. The same with sauces, pastes, soup mixes. If they were all together (like all spices) it would be so much easier to figure what to buy. Everything had Asian and English descriptors and everything was priced. The back of the store has fresh and frozen fish and meat products. They even had pig ears, tongue, stomach, snouts, brains and hooves! While most of the store is Asian centered, they also carry some Indian, Jamaican and Middle East items. I'll definitely go back and do some more shopping. read more

Wow Lee Lee's the prices are exorbitant. Everything has gone up and I can't imagine what will happen with the tariff issues. The variety is there and I always appreciate that. It's been about a year since I've been so the renovations are done. They do have a variety of tropical items which I appreciate. They also have wonderful fresh produce. They used to separate very ripe, ripe and unripe plantains so I was disappointed that not see any very ripe plantains. Maybe they just didn't have any but I drove 25 min just for that since it was a pretty consistent finding here. I also love getting authentic Jamaican ginger beer. One used to be around $1.50 but they are now $2.29. Again prices are way up. Not sure it's worth the drive anymore. read more

We used to come here very often to buy groceries because it usually has everything we need or want. However, we went today and I was very disappointed. I think the owner has changed, but the vibe in there just feels different. We wanted help locating something since everything seems to have moved. We see a group of workers just standing there with their arms crossed, so we went to ask them where it was. But no one seemed willing to help us. We were walking up to them and they suddenly dispersed. So, we went back and waited to see if any of them were going to help us. After 5 mins, no one was helping us, so we just went up to them and they said "We don't speak Chinese." Funny thing is that we didn't even speak yet. So we spoke in English asking if they knew where the item was and they told us "Aisle 3." So, we went to that aisle and it was not there. Then, we had to ask another employee, and finally, he was the only one who was helpful. He told us that it was sold out, but he wasn't sure when it would come back in stock. In addition, a lot of the shelves in specific aisles were empty compared to a year ago when I went. I don't think I'm coming back. I'm very disappointed in the customer service. read more

The place is getting filled now with lots of items and if you catch sale prices even better. Produce can be a hit or miss so choose carefully. I love the Manila Mangoes but a lot of times they are overripe and wrinkly but if you get them the first day they put them out they are really sweet and good. One thing why I gave less stars, a lot of the items are near expiration and I noticed these when I pulled them out of the pantry and when I looked at the dates they are either expired or near expiration date. Also, one of the overpriced frozen young coconut was kind of sour. I had to throw it away and it was $5.99. I didn't bother returning it because we live far and not worth going back to. read more

Write down the prices when you're in the aisle , they have a nasty habit of showing one price but charging for a higher price at the register. It's not occasional, it's regular. Having said that, the place is amazing for its variety. Pay attention to pricing. read more

I had heard about this market when I moved to Tucson. I had no reason to visit until today. I ran out of black bean paste and, strangely, it's not a typical market item here. This market had several good choices. It has a deep selection of shelf items and frozen foods from a host of Asian cultures. It also has a strong selection of produce. So far in Tucson, this is the only International market I have been to. I like coming here, for cooking ingredients that I don't find in regular stores. I cook a lot of Asian dishes, so this is my go to place. They have a lot of produce and cuts of meat that other stores doesn't have. They also have a wide variety of seasonings from other countries, mainly Asian. A lot of interesting snacks and beverages available as well. Seafood is also available in the store. They have fresh or frozen fish, shellfish and more to mention. There are 2 restaurants inside the store, Chinese and Vietnamese. It's always been fun coming here. read more

Lee Lee's is the best international grocery store in Tucson for Asian food. It offers a wide variety of items you cannot find anywhere else. The produce section is excellent and fresh. I frequently grab Asian leafy green vegetables and melons, which are reasonably priced compared to traditional grocery stores. The instant noodle, snack, and meat sections also have good options. My favorite item to get by far is the frozen dim sum. For me, good dim sum is not very accessible. I always load up on the siu mai, har gow, and chicken feet, which are delicious for being frozen items. Even though the checkout lines can get long during peak times, the staff are very efficient. You have to visit Lee Lee's on the NW side (Orange Grove/La Cholla) at least once. If you live far away, then just make a day out of it since there's a lot of great little restaurants in that parking lot (and inside) too. We have enjoyed Tucson Lee Lee's for 30 plus years. We went there 12/18/2024 for holiday meal purchases and were utterly amazed at the changes that have taken place since this store has come under new management. Of the six employees on the floor who were asked for assistance in locating an item, none offered to help and all were dismissive. They did not want to talk to us. The front-end supervisor when asked about the location of the item, portrayed the same attitude The experience was so bad, we left the store angry at how little the customer means to this store now. After all these years Lee Lee International Market was the only store we used for our seafood and international/oriental shopping. Upon leaving, we immediately started a search for another market. This business demonstrated they do not deserve your loyalty or you hard earned money. read more
