I walked in right behind David, who had just gotten back from lunch (food in hand!) and I asked if they had time for me. David took me immediately and put his lunch away. I've been to many nail salons trying to find "that" experience..the one we all look for when receiving a service. Comfortable, clean, and relaxing. None of the salons I've ever been to have checked every box..or even verbally communicated with me during my appointment...until I walked in to KD Nails and sat with David. The whole first appointment, David and I had conversation, and it was light and engaging. It was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to during my appointment and not just sitting in awkward silence! It was a great appointment and i realized that I have found my salon! I went for a couple more appointments, perfect experience each time, and he remembered our conversations and things that were going on in my life that we had spoken about. It was really a very personal experience. I booked yet another appointment and added a pedicure to it. The pedicure was so nice and relaxing, and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I have been back about 5 or 6 times since my first walk-in appointment, and I will continue to go to KD Nails for all of them, and I live in Manchester! Although David is leaving soon, Katie will be taking over my nails! I had my first appointment with her today and it was just as good as every other appointment I've had there. In terms of pedicure, pedicurists are technically not allowed to take out ingrown nails I recently found out from a nail tech, they are allowed to clip and file. I got an infection because WITHOUT ASKING the ladies insisted on taking out the nail with a dirty clip. For manicures, Jenny is such a sweetheart but rushes through clients and ends up cutting many of them with the drill (that she controls with her foot), myself included. To prevent infection cuz they reuse MANY things, she pours alcohol on which obviously really hurts. When anyone comes it seems her goal is to get as many people in here as possible. My sister went here a few months ago and lost a piece of her actual finger due to Jenny and her drill.

I usually go to either Envy or Venice Nails in Raymond. Both are about the same price for the usual services. Envy seems to be a bit smaller and not as updated as Venice. This was my 3rd time at Envy, and I like to go here because they have waxing services - something hard to find at a nail salon up here. I got a simple manicure/pedicure today, although I asked for a SPA pedicure, I didnt get one. (I guess the word SPA is really hard to understand at Asian nail salons?!? - same thing happened at Classic Nails!!) As my pedicure came to an end and I was ready to have my toenails painted, I realized that I didnt get any exfoliation to my feet. I guess the guy forgot?! So I made sure he scrubbed off all the rough skin from my heels and feet. He didnt seem quite happy that I called him out on his oversight. Oh well. The manicure was decent, but for a mani/pedi that cost $35 - I could have done it myself. How is $35 a deal for a mani/pedi???? The last time I checked, I wasnt getting my toes sucked. Also, I picked a color that was a bit bright and needed a 3rd coat (you can see the imperfections of my nails under the polish) - and the guy failed to realize that if you can see those things - a 3rd coat is necessary. He also put me under the fans and failed to turn them on, then disappeared right away to the back of the store for the entire time my nails were "drying". Ill go back, but only for waxing (which was done by the woman and done great!)

First, Envy comes highly recommended between the two nail salons in town. However, it was a strange experience for me. I was having a fill done on the set of gel nails I have and I needed one replaced. The first technician (I had FOUR separate people work on me!) took two other nails off as well. What he didn't do was try to soften them by soaking them--he just yanked them off. I'm telling you, my two thumbs hurt for two days. I could barely zip my pants. In addition, he cut my cuticle with the electric file so badly that, despite my pretty nails, I had to wear a band-aid for two days (one day to stop the bleeding and the second because I kept catching it on stuff and it would bleed again!). This did not make for pretty nails, though the SpongeBob band-aid made my kids giggle. Second, as I mentioned above, four separate people worked on me. I'm not sure why, but it was just awkward. One of them chipped one of the nail tips, and instead of taking it off and redoing it, he simply gelled over this part. It LOOKED ok, but upon close inspection, the spit on the corner was visible. Needless to say, the corner chipped off almost immediately, leaving a nice half-moon shape on the top of my thumb nail. In addition, previous to this, an entire nail popped off the DAY AFTER I had the service when I grabbed the door handle to shut the car door. I also struggled to understand the different technicians, though they understood me just fine, so that wasn't really a problem. I am going today to have the set taken off (I do not want to deal with breaking/chipping/losing nails any more). I want to have the Shellac polish instead. Hopefully they will not hurt me taking the tips off, but I'll let you know.

Unprofessional to be walking into the building at the same time as your customers. Good callus treatment, but the rest of the pedi was underwhelming and rough, as other reviewers said. After that, I sat in the pedicure chair for 20+ minutes waiting for my manicure and watching other customers who arrived after me get their manicures first (including a walk-in!); after the second time that happened, I got up, asked to have the foil removed, paid for the pedicure, and left without the manicure. Tell me why, when my appointment was at 10 AM, I am still sitting with foil on my fingers at 11:20 AM? I should have been done and out the door by that time. It seems like their staff each only does very specific things, which creates a bottleneck. Unless you have endless amounts of time and patience, go elsewhere.
