Antonio and Salvador put in concrete borders (with rebar) to stabilize the path edges and contain the base rock, carefully fit and aligned the pavers, mortared in the outside (sailor) courses, precisely cut pavers to fill in irregular places in complicated parts of the path, and vibrated in polyermic sand as a final step to prevent washout and minimize weed growth. Also, communication with Torres management (Gerardo and Graciela) has been excellent throughout the project, to make sure that costs were carefully scoped out and that we would be happy with the finished product. Considering the quality of the finished product, the cost was quite reasonable. I could not be happier with their work, and highly reccomended Torres Landscaping!

Before they even arrived, they demanded measurements and photos of our front yard. I'm not the best at measuring, but I did my best, considering I'm a full-time caregiver. I explained my situation to them, but they were very business-minded and lacked empathy. I complied with their requests and was surprised when Miguel, the owner, made an appointment to come out to our property. I already knew they wouldn't be a company we'd be interested in hiring, but in life, we need to be fair. Manuel arrived and was courteous. I asked him how he could bid on a job before he could actually access it and see what was required. He replied that he'd been doing this for a long time. Upon his departure, I noticed him measuring our property. I couldn't help but wonder why he needed to measure when he had already given us the price for the job. All the contractors bid on both the front and back yards. However, when we decided to postpone the backyard project and focus solely on the front yard, I contacted Stone Landscaping. The lady informed me that this change would increase the front yard price by 10% since the backyard was no longer included in the original quote. I was genuinely surprised and disappointed, as I sensed that this company lacked integrity and professionalism. Determined to find a dependable and honest landscaping company, I reached out to D&I Landscaping. I explained our decision to focus on the front yard and inquired about the cost. To my delight, they simply adjusted the price by removing the backyard, without any extra charges for the revision. I have a telephone pole nearby with a number of wires servicing the block and they accidentally severed my internet and a neighbor. The foreman notified me and so did the home office, right away. There are 3 big projects for which we contracted with Zarco Landscaping, because they continually performed above and beyond on the work. The first project was for a room that would flood when it rains. The team at Zarco quickly diagnosed the problem as poor gutter placement and cracks in concrete on the floor above, and they worked rapidly to connect a new sewer system and rebuild our concrete walkway. There has been no more flooding. The second project was to improve the terrain and usability of our backyard, which is on a hill that was very difficult to navigate. The Zarco team completely transformed the area, building stone steps and leveling the land with premium soil, mulch, and stone. Please see the attached photos (we wish we had before pictures, but it was all dirt and invasive plants before on a steep incline)! Lastly, our third project had to be done rapidly after the recent storms in the bay area. We needed three very large and dead trees removed that were at risk of falling on our house or the street. The Zarco team came the next day to remove all of the trees. Overall, the Zarco team has always delivered amazing service and treated us with respect.
