Nature Camp is easily one of the best campgrounds I have ever visited! It is a wonderful family business--the owner's son is there, and his father is incredibly proud of the grandfather who originally started the camp. Not kid friendly after 10:00pm when it's basically lights out time it's a free for all! I would also point out they cannot control unruly guests and you are put in awkward positions where your children suffer from intoxicated guests. read more

Me and my family of 5 had a blast!! We went with 8 different family's and friends. And all 8 sites were spacious and clean. The pools could use tables around them but besides that. The pools were clean. Campers at baggers way organized cornhole tournament. Lot of seasonals' there but friendly and inviting. Not like other campgrounds like in ashford. We are a five membered Asian family, were looking for a getaway from the city life, and this campsite was by far the best at their hospitality and privacy in our past experience. We stayed at a cabin, which was right next to a camper; even the neighbors are sweet and kind enough to help us make a campfire w/ their own woods. I give 5 stars or more if I can, at their hospitality and service, and the area. They had this little pond or river for canoeing and kayaking, it is so scenically beautiful and I highly recommend it. We ll definitely come back here next summer. read more

The service here is always exceptional & the people who run it are amazing & always understanding. Always plenty of room in the sites & it's the perfect outdoor getaway. Also want to add that I was foolish enough to drain my car battery & the owner went above & behind & got my car battery back up charged in no time. The activities director was rude twice to my 7 year old. We were late to an art activity because we just arrived at the camp ground. She tried to talk us out of participating at all. A few hours later there was supposed to be a costume contest. No announcement was made that the contest had started. This same woman just started handing out awards to kid wandering on the other side of the field. By the time my 7 year old got there, he was told all of the awards were gone and not everyone got one. Have a great weekend here. First time, spent the weekend on the tent sites without electricity/water. Had a great spot right by the river secluded enough and everyone we met was friendly, especially the staff. We were approached on our second night to remind us of quiet hours since we had been up a bit late the prior night, which was totally acceptable we definitely were a bit loud. Dirtiest camp ground ever. Guess because it's the end of the season they just gave up on customer service. Our site was filled with beer caps, glow bracelets and condom wrappers. Yep, condom wrappers. The fire ring was filled with cigarette butts and used tin foil. We spent a while cleaning up so we could set up our stuff. We bought fire wood that was delivered. Included in our wood was rubber hose, a set of pliers and various garden plants and mulch. The bathroom closest to us was locked. Never again. read more

I'm surprised by some of these other reviews. People who have been "Camping their entire life" are shocked that there are people partying on a Friday night, there are kids running around, and seasonal campers generally don't like the people that are there for a few nights. That's pretty much the deal at any campground I've ever been to. The seasonal people right next to us were very friendly. We booked Memorial Day weekend just a couple weeks ahead of time. They said we would be in their field. We're notoroius for booking last minute. We've been "In the field" at other campgrounds which, ended up being a muddy swap. Not here though. It was a well maicured grass lawn. They guided us right to our site. They were flexible about which sites our group took and, even gave us suggestions on how we could setup. It was right near the pavillion so, we didn't even need to leave our site for many of the activities. The bathrooms were fairly clean. They were inconsistant though. Some seemed like they had been updated and others .... not so much. They have 2 great pools and a nice playground. They do have wifi but, it's not the whole camp. The one access point they have seems to be where to pool is so, if you need wifi, book a site near the pool. They gave us a list of activities and a map when we got there. When we were thinking of booking a whole month, they let us know which sites would be best. I would go back. read more

Natures Campgrounds in Voluntown Connecticut: To the owner of the campground; your employees made an error, not me. Please address it with them and do not take it out on your customers. The staff misrepresented the rules of the owner. I came to visit my brother in my converted school bus. I was given a (camper) pink pad instead of a visitor (yellow) we went to go shopping. when we returned I notice the bus wasn't plugged into the outlet (only have a fan running for my dog, it was 85 and humid.) apparently the owner UNPLUGGED the cord for the bus AND wrapped around my mirror. i'm sure that trigger made his presence known. The owner of the camp ground shows up 2 min later and explains that campground(he) dose not allow 2 campers (I have commercial plates on my vehicle )on one site. This was not said to us when I got here.The girl behind the counter that check me in asked about the bus, I told her it was a "livable" space and that I would be sleeping in it. They knew exactly what the bus was and still proceed to write me up and open the gate knowing that I had a vehicle that I would be sleeping in. if I had known that I would be given a heard time about the bus ... I would have not stayed here at all. For $60 a nite, you can't use electric to power a fan. I was told that if I wanted to stay here, I would have to park my bus on the out side the main gate. I understand that everyone has rules.... I just didn't care for the way he notified us of his rules that where not explained to me upon arrival. The owner was arrogant and self centered. word for word "I own this place and this is the way it's going to be!" As for the place in my opinion.... this is the Central Falls of camp grounds. the bathrooms are dirty and full of cob/spider webs and the property is not maintaind. The Staff is nice, but the owner needs a serious attitude adjustment. he has lost a customer. I will never come here again. Just stayed here for 2 nights with the kids. The stayed started well enough. The staff was friendly during the reservation and check in process. The pools were clean. There's a nice little pond to fish in. This place is not a family campsite though. There are a ton of permanent residents that give this place more of a trailer park feel. There is no enforcement of sound rules. There was literally a camp site with live music that the campground did nothing about. Other sites were up singing and dancing until 3 am both nights we stayed. Bathrooms and other facilities were out of date and not very clean. Campsites were very small and felt like we in a trailer homes backyard. read more

Just returned from a weekend at Nature's Campsites and I have to say I am impressed. This place was awesome. First of all the customer service, best I've experienced in a long time. I had to call in to book the site. I thought that was weird at first since everything is done online these days. But I am glad it was done this way. They got to hear what I was looking for and recommended the perfected site for my family. The camp sites are fairly wooded areas giving that sense of privacy unlike other sites where you feel crammed. The campground was clean when we arrived. Fire pit was clean. Staff delivered fire wood to the site. That was cool. I went to the rest room and was surprise how clean they were. I was also pleased to have a warm shower at the end of the day. The playgrounds and the pool are well maintained. Kids had a blast with the Paintball shooting. I had a relaxing time on the canoe fishing on the Beachdale Pond. Once again Very please with how great the customer service. Whether I was in the office to check in, buy wood or ice, renting a canoe or signing out the bocce balls... They were always super friendly and answered all of my questions. We have definitely found our new favorite campground. We will be back again this summer. Thanks Dave B. read more

Great campground! The seasonal campers are super friendly and helpful. Staff was friendly. The pools are great and those two bathrooms at the pool area seem to have just been re-done. They are finishing up the bathrooms by the field which will be great for the nights they have DJs and bands. read more

I just want to start out this review by saying that I have been camping my entire life. I camped as a child with my parents, and with my aunt and cousins. As an adult, I have camped with friends and with my boyfriend. I have never had an experience like this. When calling to make the reservation, I had no issues. I paid over the phone with credit card for the two nights that we would be there. In order to hold your place at the campground, you have to pay with credit card over the phone and pay a fee. The fee is minimal, but there is still one to pay. My boyfriend and I showed up on Thursday to stay two nights checking out on Saturday. When we arrived at the office to check in, they couldn't find any paperwork for us or any information saying what site we were on or any other reservation details. Luckily, I had saved the confirmation email that stated our site number and the amount that we had paid. They had information and papers for other people but for some reason ours was not there. Very strange. When checking in, we asked how much wood was because there's not a posted sign. We bought two bundles and a gentleman kindly delivered it to our site and showed us where we would be located. We were never told of activities at the campground, never given a map of the campground, nor were we told of amenities at the campground. I had asked for a site away from chaos because I wanted to relax and not have to worry about loud noises when trying to sleep. Thursday night went well, the campground was very quiet. The following night when sitting by the campfire, we were trying to relax, but we were surrounded by a couple of rowdy groups. There was a group a couple sites away who were screaming and obnoxiously loud from early afternoon until we went to bed. We were woken up a few times by all the commotion. The group directly across the water from us came in around 10 o'clock at night and proceeded to blare music so that everyone around could hear. It wasn't quiet time but common courtesy would be not to do this when people are resting and children are trying to sleep. There were also lots of children running around on their site and screaming. They had the headlights on their vehicles facing us to set up their site and those were still on when we went to sleep.My boyfriend had called down to see what the quiet hours were and the gentleman told him that quiet time is at 11 PM. Pretty late when others are trying to relax and rest. The huge party across the water from us didn't quiet down once quiet hours came and nothing was done about it. I could hear their music blaring as I was trying to go to bed. I have never experienced this in my life. Another big issue, is that cars kept coming in and out late at night and being shown to their sites with glaring light from the workers showing people where to go. This happened until very late at night - we went to bed around midnight and were woken up to the bright lights illuminating our entire site. We originally booked this campsite due to the fact that someone raved about how quiet and peaceful it was. That is not what we experienced. Needless to say we will not be returning. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing experience, this is not the place for you. read more

We stayed here in a tent for 2 nights, with 2 adults and 2 children. The setup of the campground is pretty good, with lots of wooded area and the 2 pools are awesome! The staff was also pretty friendly. But that's where the compliments end. The bathrooms were pretty outdated and dirty. Also apparently people are allowed to stay up partying, blasting music, screaming and drinking till all hours of the nights, well beyond quiet hours. I thought that this was supposed to be family friendly? The main thing that will keep me from coming back is the SEASONAL CAMPERS! Firstly, I hate campgrounds that have way too many seasonal campers, that would include this campground. Secondly, I can handle the volume of seasonal campers if they are at least friendly and respectful. My family found that the seasonal campers here made it VERY clear that traveling campers were not welcome at this campground. They act like they own the place and everyone else is just there to annoy them. We will NOT be back! The only reason I gave 2 stars were some of the friendly staff (maintenance guys) and the 2 pools. read more
