Always saw staff maintaining the property. The property had a small private beach with overlook to rocky bluff. The hotel also has spa services for those who want to indulge in a facial or massage. On select Fridays the restaurant has a wine tasting and Al's hosts larger events. Lunch and dinner we sat outside on the covered patio with a beautiful view of the sound. Sydney was friendly and accommodating at dinner. The manager Anthony took good care of us at dinner for substitutions due to food intolerances. The food was excellent we had the short rib and steak frits with a beautifully paired Bordeaux. Lunch we had the crab cakes, house salad and smash burger. Our stay was just what we needed to relax and unwind. A definite revisit in the future.

From the porch, you also get a peek at the Mystic River and the Mystic Seaport. (I could see the Mayflower which was on a lift at the seaport for repairs-absolutely charming.) When you walk through the front door, you are greeted by artwork, books, and a parlor off to the right. There is a baby grand piano, tuned and ready to be played in the parlor. I just loved all the hand painted details by a local artist. It is a cozy, happy room. Walk straight through the front foyer and you enter the dining room which has coffee, teas, and water available 24/7. There was a plate of cookies on the table that were home made and out of this worldA scrabble game was set and ready to go. A well rounded breakfast menu was posted and you can order whatever you like, all home made including the granola. I am gluten free and Josephine was so accommodating. I even discovered a new GF bread that I thought was better than most I have tried. Josephine has a talent in the kitchen to say the least. Everything was delicious. There is a lot of local information on where to go and what to do. OK- now, the Mermaid Room This is not a large room but it has everything you need (including a little fridge) and the hand painted walls are an absolute study. To think one young lady produced all that art, a talent to be admired. There are 3 more rooms upstairs but I wanted to be on the main floor. I found the location perfect. It is not on the main drag so it isn't noisy but just walk a couple of blocks and you are right in the middle of downtown Mystic with all the glorious restaurants, cute shops, and a drawbridge over the Mystic River. 100% charm. Challah bread French toast with a medly of berries one day, a delicious lobster quiche on another. Paper thin towels, bath products that were waterlike, rough sheets. Not the upscale experience I was hoping for. The pool was vile - overflowing garbage cans, dirty towels everywhere & barely any staff to monitor or clean up.

It is a B&B with a beautiful shared common area, including working fireplace with stocked wood ready to burn. It is a stone's throw from the water and would be ideal for anyone bringing kayaks. Claude also allows pets which is hard to find. The location is outstanding. You can walk to town and the Seaport easily. In addition, it is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. This place is idea for someone wanting to get away from NYC for a weekend. No car required. Muffins, coffee, and tea are complimentary. I noticed a BBQ grill outside, which I think can be used by guests. There is a common kitchen and dining room table for guests to share. The bathrooms are a little bit small, however, that is part of the charm. The ONLY downside, IMO, was the walls are a little bit thin and the beds are a not the most plush. This is a minor inconvenience for such a great value and location, location, location to everything Mystic has to offer. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and couples. NOTE: You must pay CASH upon arrival. The owner will take credit card for your reservation, but you must pay cash immediately upon arriving.

Was told over the phone they would refund me and they never sent it. Reached out again and they said they would get back to me on 7-3-2025. It is now 7-16 and still no call back or refund. They haven't responded to the complaint with BBB either. I will take them to court if I have to. Terrible owners, Carol even admitted she wasn't as attentive to the hotel as she should be. Do the right thing and give me my refund. Update. After calling several times, the owner sent me a check. I still wouldn't book with them again because of the need to fight for my refund.

Usually, we stay at the casino, but the rates this weekend were astronomical! We looked at some local chain hotels and their prices were also through the roof. Then, we remembered that Captain Grant's 1754 was nearby, and we have been wanting to stay here since we had seen "28 Days Haunted" on Netflix. We didn't experience anything particularly supernatural, but this inn was so beautiful and cozy. Also, very reasonably priced. We stayed in the Colette room, and it was perfect for us. The property is beautiful and the cemetery in the back was very cool. Definitely felt some unusual vibes in there. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Sadly, we couldn't stay for breakfast because I was having some issues with my blood sugar, but we saw the setup and wish that we could have! Everything smelled amazing! There will be a next time for us, that's for sure.

It was decorated in a very pretty historical style. My husband is especially picky and had nothing to even point a finger at. House: Very cosy. there is a very large front yard where we had breakfast in the morning when it was nice out. If you stay there definitely walk the grounds of the house. It's so pretty and calming there. The house sits on about 5 acres but it's mostly woods all around except for the area right around the house. Breakfast: The best part! They have a farm and garden on the grounds so all the eggs, herbs, and fruit were from their garden and farm. Everything was very fresh and delicious. On the first day we had eggs and herb roasted potatoes which were delish. We also had home made muffins with blueberries from the garden! amazing! the next day we had by far the best pancakes I have ever had. all homemade with items from the yard! I would come back just for the breakfast! Owners: Gail and her husband Sandy are the sweetest! They took really good care of us. They were very helpful as far as what to do around town before we took off for the casinos in the evening.
