The day of the service I received an email that the technician had called in sick and couldn't perform the service. I was so impressed ! Set my appointment quickly. The tech was running ahead of schedule so called to make sure it was ok to head over. He arrived and was so professional and respectful of my property. I had the dryer vent cleaned first and he showed me how I was causing a kink in the hose. Gio and Jason came to my home at the time thy were scheduled to come. They called about 20 minutes prior to arrival to let me know they were on their way and what time they would arrive. They examined my chimney and took pictures of the work that needed to be done. They made sure to cover their shoes so they would not damage my flooring after being On Top of the house. The work to the chimney was initially was done by another technician. About a week later Gio had to come back to complete the job and did the job and double checked what the other technician did. In December I had Natures Own come out and clean my chimney. They shared that we needed to rebrick and repaint the inside of our fireplace. They also mentioned that we needed a new damper. We agreed to all of the repairs and they ordered the pieces needed. Their second visit to our home a few weeks later they rebricked but said they could not repaint yet and that the new damper was ordered incorrectly so they would install it when they came back to paint. On the third visit they came to paint and said they could not install the damper because it was raining so they would call and reschedule for installation. I never received a call so I called them and they scheduled me a few weeks out. Unfortunately for my next appointment it was raining as well so they cancelled and said they would reschedule. They did not call so I called again and rescheduled again for a few weeks out. Sadly the next time it was raining again so we went through the process of rescheduling again. The next time they came out they said got all the way on the roof and said they ordered the wrong part so they left and I rescheduled with them yet again because they never called after ordering the new part. The next time I rescheduled I spoke with someone at the office and she said she triple checked the damper was correct and that this time they would get it right but low and behold when they showed up this week in APRIL the part was still wrong. The guy left and a few days later I got a call from natures own to reschedule , I explained my history with them and the girl said "ok I'll make a note of it in your account." Bought an amazon voucher for a chimney cleaning. First appointment had to be rescheduled. Ok, I'm flexible. So, I'm expecting the service guy, Brandon, to arrive between 4 and 7 on the new appointment day. He calls at 3 and says he'll be there at 4. Hmm, at 5:30 he calls and says he's just now leaving. Not a fan after the experience of chimney cleaning/inspection. They did do a good job cleaning the chimney, but tried to hard sell me a lot of extra fixes that they said must be done before I lit another fire on danger of house fire. From the general mannerisms of the technicians, and the aggressive used car salesman hard sell - (also some rather rude "little lady" vibe towards me), I didn't trust the $1900 price tag they told me. I got a second opinion from another company, and while a few of the things Nature's Own mentioned do need to be replaced at some point, it's not nearly as dire as they said, and some of the work was repair, not replace. The other company did a great fix for me and explained it to me as if I was an adult. Some of the other repairs Nature's Own mentioned were not necessary at all. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I found them on craigslist. They were running a special on chimney cleaning for $85. I made the HUGE MISTAKE of not checking their Yelp reviews. If I had come here first, I would have avoided this company like the plague! I purchased a home that had an gas fireplace originally. When they renovated the house they took it from gas to all electric & turned the gas off. I wanted to make sure everything had been done correctly & to clean it before we started to use it. Brandon & Joe were extremely well mannered, nice & they struck me as very knowledgeable. They put me at ease right away. They were even concerned about my birds & advised I put them outside during the cleaning. The fireplace looked clean, but I wanted to make sure before we started to use it that it was safe. Since we live in a 2 story house, I was concerned that when my mother was home alone, a fire could break out & I knew she wouldn't be able to come down stairs very quickly. I asked them to inspect the fireplace & to clean it so that it would be ready for use. I told them my concerns about my mother. BIG MISTAKE. First, the inspection. They didn't get up on my roof to look down the chimney. They inspected it from the ground! They then used a flashlight to inspect the interior of the fireplace. They told me my fireplace was really clean BUT EXTREMELY UNSAFE due to the HUGE cracks in my fireplace. So big they could see the insulation behind the fireplace. They told me that it wouldn't be SAFE to use the fireplace and expressed their concern too over the fact that something horrible could happen to my mother if we ran it at night & I wasn't there to put out any potential fire. Yes, they let me believe that something as awful as my mother BURNING TO DEATH could happen if I didn't take care of this right away. The way the explained the service it sounded like they would have to come back and do extensive repair work on the back wall of my fireplace. Can you believe at this point I actually felt GRATEFUL to have 2 such caring individuals come to my home. It would cost $350 to fix all the cracks in my wall, but after they were done they would put in an fireproof enamel to seal it all up. And the fireplace would be safe at that point to use. While I considered what they had just told me they started the cleaning. My mind was so a buzz over the fire hazard I had just avoided, it didn't strike me until they had left that they never got up on the roof to clean the top part of the chimney. In fact they didn't even need a tarp to clean the chimney. They brought in a shop vac and vacuumed the inside of the chimney and they had a brush with them that wasn't that long, that they brushed the inside with. There was no big mess, there was no soot all over the place. I decided I would take it up w/ them when they got to my home the following week to fix the cracks. Thursday rolls around & I'm expecting them from 1-4. Every Thursday I have an event I either host or go to. I wouldn't agree to a service from 4-7. In my phone i had it for 1 -4 and with all the work they said my fireplace needed I knew they would need a lot of time to get it done. So I started calling their work at 1. I didn't want them to be too late. So I kept calling and calling. Finally they showed up around 5:30 -6. I cancelled my plans for the evening because of them. But during that time I had been waiting, I finally checked Yelp and read their reviews. My heart sank. They were very apologetic when they arrived. Then they said the first shocking thing, don't worry....it won't take us very long to fill these in... Wait a minute. that didn't make sense. They basically had described a heavy duty construction job to me. So they begin their work. To fix my cracks they used a fireproof caulk and the enamel they said that would protect the job...BLACK SPRAY PAINT. The can did say fireproof. But it was spray paint. Took them about 30 mins to complete. I stood there and let it all sink in. I had been scammed. I called Amy & complained. She wasn't surprised. It seems that these 2 guys have done this before. She gave me her personal cell # & said she would take care of it. I waited all day Friday and the weekend to hear back from them. No one called. Amy has stopped picking up when I call her cell. I found out from another chimney company the patch job they did was a $75 - $165 for big cracks service. They don't use the paint because its mostly cosmetic & doesn't really do anything to add to the safety of the fireplace. So now I'm having another company come out to clean & inspect the fireplace. Another 2 weeks will go by without us being able to use it. To add insult to injury, as they left, they said. You know this procedure is more for preventive maintenance, & NOT A NECESSITY. Ahh no! My husband and I recently got an older home and are trying to fix it up. We weren't sure if our fireplace was gas or real wood burning, and it desperately needed a clean. We made an appointment for today about 3 weeks ago for the 8-10am window. Low and behold at 9:52am, we get a call that our worker was 30 minutes away, much past our window time. When I asked why it was late, he just said his other appointment ran over...he made no apologies or offered any other information. We waited and he showed up 40 minutes later. He then started cleaning the fireplace with a shop vac *without a filter* so the entire downstairs was filled with fine soot. When my husband stopped him, he just inserted an old filter and poured some of the dust outside. When he left, he charged us only for the cleaning, but didn't do the full inspection (it was an inspection + cleaning for $125). When we asked if our fireplace was gas or wood, he just said "yeah it's gas" but didn't offer any other information. We paid him, and my husbannd reminded him to take his shop vac. He nodded and started loading his truck. He then drove away and we had to call him to get his shop vac again. He left around 11:30am. The rest of the morning was spent vacuuming, washing all of our pillows/cushions/blankets, beating rugs, and mopping...all when we were already over our time by an hour and a half into our day. I called them once for the chimney sweep service, which was such a cluster, they had to have someone come from out of town the next day to do the job, which I appreciated because they made it right. So when I needed to have the dryer vent cleaned/checked, I figured let's give them another chance.........My mistake! I set up the appointment a week ago for Friday between 2-5. Overall, very disappointed with the customer service at Nature's Own. I'm still experiencing issues related to my original chimney problem even after they have sent technicians out twice. Now, I'm slightly past the warranty period and have offered to pay for the repair services, but Nature's Own is still charging a $100 inspection fee just to send out a technician. I'm mind blown that a company won't stand by their quality of work even with a customer willing to pay for the actual services. In Response to Owner: The first service was performed AFTER Hurricane Harvey, and the second time a technician was sent out was spring 2018 (which now April 2019 is slightly past the warranty period). Worst Experience Ever! We had them come out to intall some gas logs and when I left work to meet them at my house they had forgotten the gas logs. The manager had them come back to my house that night and they didn't get there until nine o'clock at night to install the logs which they finally got installed. It turned out that the logs were not installed correctly and when we got home from work the next our entire house smelled like gas and we had to call the gas company to come and fix the problem. We initially called to have Nature's Own come out and clean our chimney and inspect it. While we already had a basic inspection done on the chimney when we bought it, we felt that more thorough inspection would be appropriate. Nature's Own was very quick to respond to our call about a quote and even quicker to schedule a time to come out. I'm going to be honest here and say that things started off rocky. The gentlemen who was initially scheduled to clean and inspect our chimney decided to show up after the scheduled window (approximately 8:45 pm). When he did arrive, he sat in his car for a few minutes in front of our house and then left a note on our door and drove away. When I went outside to see what he left, it turned out to be our chimney inspection report with a fee. My first thought was "how do you inspect a chimney you didn't see from the inside or from getting on the roof?" I called the company the next day to explain what had happened and they were very quick to apologize and reschedule an inspection and cleaning. The second two gentlemen (Chris and Diandre) who came to clean our chimney and inspect it changed my feelings towards this company. They not only came out and did a thorough job of both cleaning and inspecting but they took the time to speak with me on the different items that need to be fix on the chimney. Chris even took the time to prioritize the items that are more important to fix first since I wouldn't have been able to pay for fixing everything at that time. Unfortunately the chimney I have was an odd size which required them to order a chimney cap rather than pull one from their stock. While this did not cost extra it did take about a week to get the cap and have them install it. By the time they came back we were able to work out a deal to get all the issues fixed that were needed. Chris and Diandre arrived on time and were finished very quickly. I had them out to clean my wood stoves flue pipe today. I thought they did a really nice job. I was worried about it being messy but they kept everything very clean. Called them out using a Groupon special for a chimney cleaning and inspection since we had never used our fireplace. Brandon was professional and nice and swept the chimney. Luckily we didn't have any major problems, just a bunch of dead bugs. He did show me where the fireplace was not properly sealed and it was wobbly so we set up an appt to have that repaired. He returned a week later to tuck and seal the fireplace. Again, Brandon was professional and friendly. My toddler, for some reason, kept referring to him as "the good guy." Like, "What's the good guy doing now? Where's the good guy going?" Lol. I have NO idea where that came from, but sometimes kids see things we don't! I can't imagine why they do not get better reviews as my experience was very pleasant. I'm holding off on that fifth star until I see how the repair job holds up. :) read more

We called them for a chimney cleaning and inspection to figure out how birds were getting past the cap on the top of our chimney and repair whatever was allowing them to get into the house. The crew that came out could only clean, and couldn't inspect the top of the chimney. After a phone call, a second crew came out and suggested we change the design for how to keep birds out of the chimney. We agreed, but the company didn't want to honor the Yelp deal for a discount off $150 worth of work because this was now a separate job. Since a chimney cleaning is never more than $150, we argued that we called them and asked them to solve both problems. Once we got them to come and do the work they designed, and we settled the final bill including the Yelp deal, the work they did fell apart in less than a month and the birds were back. We had to call them to come back and do the work again. This whole process took about two months. It felt like way too much effort, although the 2nd solution has lasted. read more

Used them to fix our chimney in October 2017. I paid for the part they had to order before they came out. They completed the work and I signed the invoice to use the credit card on file to pay for the rest of the work. I just got a call 15 months later to say the balance was never paid for. I seriously thought this was a scam or a joke. Turns out it wasn't. After asking them to go back and check because I am sure that I gave them my credit card and hadn't heard from them for 15 months that it must have been paid. They went back and my card wasn't run, and I checked my records as well. This was incredibly annoying as this is now an added expense we weren't expecting. And they told me, if there aren't arrangements to pay it by next week, they are going to send it to the district attorney's office. So they take 15 months to figure out they screwed up before but if I don't help them right away they'll take it to court. The woman on the phone was quite nice and said this is what the owner's had decided. Incredibly frustrating to be treated like this. Beware their practices. read more

Found these guys on Groupon. $60 for a 30-60 minute cleaning and "top to bottom safety inspection." Technician was here for less than 8 minutes (I timed him). His flashlight broke so he had to borrow my phone to use as light source (seriously?). He pointed out some bricks that needed to be repaired and then used the worlds loudest shop-vac to suck up some soot he brushed off the walls but he left behind the pile of soot/ash that was on the bottom under the logs. When I asked 'Joe' if he inspected the flue and smoke shelf, he said "Oh we don't inspect there" So much for "top to bottom." This is a terrible company. First problem is they didn't show up or call at my rental in Willis Texas to clean the dryer vent or chimney. But the worst issue is they did show up at my Spring rental and spent only 20 minutes cleaning both the chimney and dryer vent. When I went outside I saw all the lint from the dryer still on the roof. I questioned the technician and he said it wasn't in his "training to clean up the lint". There was a lot of it since the vent hadn't been cleaned in years. My 75 year old husband had to climb up on the roof to clean up the mess. I'm not even sure they checked the fireplace cap. I purchased a Groupon on 12/20/16. At that time I set an appointment for 1/27. Well 1/27 came and went without so much as a call. I called on the next day to see what happened, to find out my appointment was on 2/27. This is only the start of the confusion. I gladly accepted the 2/27 appointment and moved on. On 2/24 I received a call from the Houston office confirming my 4-7 arrival for Monday the 27th, which I validated. Well my time window on 2/27 came and went without so much as a call. I received a call 15 minutes after my 7PM arrival time... only to be told that my appointment was added to the route last minute and he wouldn't be able to make it and that he could come 2/28 with the same 4-7 arrival time. Well my time window on 2/28 came and went without so much as a call. AGAIN AFTER MY WINDOW I received a call to tell me they couldn't make it. I rescheduled AGAIN for 3/6 with the same 4-7 window. Well my time window on 3/6 came and went without so much as a call. I called the office at 630 but guess what? Its after hours... This is literally the 4th time I have left work early, and been home at 4, and waited all 3 hours (patiently waiting to eat). Well the tech calls me finally at 715 (after my time like all the other contacts) on 3/6 to tell me he will be able to arrive at 8:20PM... in an effort to not do this again I accepted this time. Well guess what, no work done on 3/6 either. The tech calls me at 8 to tell me that somehow my city was wrong in the system and he just drove 45 minutes in the wrong direction. I received a call the next morning to reschedule for 3/11. Requesting a shorter window I was told 4:30-7. FINALLY! they arrived at 7pm to complete the work. One very young man came to the door with tools, while I assume his boss sat in the truck, since it was still running. He put his little shoe protectors on and went to work. He finished in under 30 minutes. Then proceeded to offer me pest services. I laughed and told him to have a good day. The employee was personable and I am grateful for the shoe protectors since he was filthy, but that part I understand. None the less that is the only positive thing I have to say about this company. The work was bad and dealing with them would make a normal person suicidal. To add a little salt to the wound, I sent them the above details (before the review) hoping for perhaps my money back, without so much as a response in 3 weeks. The first scheduling issued may or may not have been my fault but the other 4 where certainly your company's. As you can see, I have had an exceptionally difficult time trying to get my chimney cleaned. Not to mention it is now spring, so I am not even sure I need it now. Hadn't had our chimney cleaned in years. It was an absolute mess. Nature's Own Chimney cleaning came to my house and did a fantastic job. It did not take them more than a few hours and they were very reasonably priced. The employees were also very respectful and kind while inside my home. Thanks again! Highly recommend. read more

Update: John called and personally apologized. He made the situation right by dispatching a team to properly install the guard. -- In March, I had my dryer vent cleaned, and the technician who cleaned the vent removed the bird guard and did not reinstall it. Fast forward two months and birds have created a nest and I can hear constant chirping. Normally I would have just reinstalled it myself but the vent is not accessible without a ladder extension. So, I call to request a technician to reinstall the vent guard. I was given an appointment time between 2 and 5 and technician shows up at 5:30. He takes forever to install the ladder because the company's ladders are old, and installs the new vent guard that I bought but confesses that he broke it as he was trying to reinstall it, but left it up for the time being. This was on a Friday evening. Says to call the company to reschedule. I called on Saturday morning and rescheduled for today between 5 and 8 pm. In the meantime, the vent guard fell and almost hit my car as I was pulling out this morning. It is now 8:15 and I am writing this review because I've been stood up. read more

Final Review: New appointment time was set between 2-4 window. Same tech from previous appointment arrived. at 5:45pm. Cleaned out the rest of the vent and removed a lot more lint, with the correct tools. Job completed at a satisfactory level. Still disappointed in the late arrival, but understand the traffic patterns of Houston. Potentially would use again, just because of the Customer Service Reps. The price was very good, just wished it was completed the first time correctly. This was the 3rd company I had scheduled the same cleaning with and the only one to actually showed up. Update Pending Corrective Action: Received a call for John in customer service that they will send another tech out to do the job. Very good customer service from the customer service rep. Just moved into a new house and I called for a dryer vent clean out. I specifically told the customer service rep, that our Dryer Vented through the Roof and was about a 15 ft run. Scheduled an appointment from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. That time came and went, at 07:30pm a technician knocked on the door, then started immediately back to his truck, like he didn't want to do the job, I caught him and told him to go ahead and come clean out the dryer vent as it needed it severely. He brings in a shop vacuum and a drill with a 3 foot cleaning rod. I ask him, if he understood that this was a 15' run, through the roof and he acknowledged it. I explained to him the roof cap was visibly clogged. He went out and grab a ladder then hand cleaned the outside of the vent cap, did even use the tool, and only cleaned the visible portion of the cap. He then came back inside, and cleaned the back of the dryer, the flex tube, then about 3' of the vertical pipe. There was a lot of lint in just that section. The technician himself, was very polite and apologized about showing up late. He said he was caught in traffic. Houston traffic can be bad, but 4-6 hours is excessive and without a call to let me know he was running late. You get what you pay for. I could have went to a hardware store and for $30, bought a dryer vent cleaning kit, and foil tape and did the job. read more
