TL;DR - Our salesperson/consultant Scott was friendly, patient and informative. The crew showed up and finished on time and did an excellent job. The price was fair. It's only been half a day since the radiant barrier is installed and I can already feel cooler, but I will post an update after a few weeks. My wife and I installed "foil" radiant barrier, as opposed to spray on, ourselves at our old townhouse. It took us at least two days to do one side and we had to hire a handyman to finish the other side as we were just so beat up from it. But after it was done, we definitely felt a significant difference in temperature and our electricity bill. Fast forward a few years, we bought a house and it had decent insulation, ventilation and AC unit, but without radiant barrier it just wasn't the same so we finally decided to install it. We knew that there's no way we could do it ourselves this time so we tried to look for professional help. After consulting two other companies that just didn't feel right, even though one had an extremely high number of genuine positive reviews, we are glad we found Ultimate Radiant Barrier and Scott. Scott was friendly, patient and informative. We were already sold on radiant barrier as we had it at our old townhouse so we were just looking for a reliable company and a fair price, and that's exactly what we got. The crew arrived early in the morning and started working right away. They were pretty quiet and made just enough noise to let us know they are still alive up in the hot attic. Keep in mind this was during July in Houston. They only took maybe two short breaks and finished around the time they estimated. The crew quickly cleaned up everything and Scott showed up to make sure everything was installed properly, answered any questions we may have had and picked up the remaining amount we owed. It's only been half a day since the radiant barrier was installed but I already feel like it's cooler. Even with the decent ventilation, insulation and AC unit before, it just always felt like there's still heat in the air, but not right now. Of course, I'm going to wait a few weeks and post an update. For now we are very happy. Update: It's been nearly two weeks since the radiant barrier was installed and it's been great. I wish I had done some before temperature measurements of my attic for comparison but right now during the hottest time of the day, between 1-4PM, the radiant barrier itself measures between 95-115 degrees whereas uncovered ventilation area is at least 140 degrees. As for the living space itself, besides not feeling the heat in the air, the temperature itself has lowered. Before the radiant barrier our AC struggled to keep at the house at 72 during the day and it would have to run pretty much non-stop. Now if we keep it at 72, it would only run maybe 60% of the time. We are able to drop it to 70 during the day and it would run maybe 80% of the time, but honestly dropping it to 70 actually makes the house too cold for us. read more

The owner, Marc, is very personable and thoroughly explained the process and answered all of my questions. On the day of the service, though, the workers were three hours late... when they finally arrived, the worker in charge left right away because he had to go to the home improvement store for a piece of equipment. He was gone for three hours. The work was performed okay, but I am very disappointed in the delays. My HVAC system is 12yrs old and a new system would be 25-35k. I researched for over a month trying to find an alternative and came across radiant foil, radiant paint, and spray foam. Radiant paint will not give you the performance that the company advertises without incurring additional cost ( all beams and rafters must be covered entirely and the wood needs to be primed first for "best"results. Spray foam which is the best, was quoted at twice the cost of foil. Before the foil and fiberglass insulation was installed my HVAC system struggled to hold a temp and took forever to cool the house. Now my house is kept at 76-77degrees and at times we find it to be too cold even at that temp. My system has no problems holding/maintaining the desired temperature now. I have not received my latest electric bill yet but I am confident that it will be lower. Brady and his team did a fantastic job and I am completely satisfied with the work. Do your homework and find a company that you can trust. Insulation companies have many different ways to rip you off. And don't forget to insulate your garage doors! read more

On the day of the initial appt Mark the owner came on time and was fair in his estimate. His guys came with the truck even a few minutes early on the day of the job. They were very polite, efficient and even cleaned up afterwards. Later in the afternoon i lowered the temp on my ac and it never cooled, went up to attic, so hot, called Mark the owner and he sent one of his guys right over. He came and found a loose wire and fixed it. House is now cooling down. Things happen but how you handle them makes a good business, If you need insulation or barrier call Mark for sure. read more

I am extremely impressed, and that doesn't come easy from me, i've had many horrible experiences with service companies. We needed to add more insulation in our attic. The owner, Marc, was extremely professional and answered all my questions (I always ask a lot of ?) He came out within 2 days, even though his calendar was booked. He made an exception, my in-laws were coming and it was going to be a cold weekend. After sweating all summer, I knew it was going to be cold for my quests and my husband and I, even though I should have done this months ago, Marc understood and was there to help. Marc also gave me a big discount on an attic door tent, I was not sure I wanted or needed one, but after he explained it helps reduce air transfer by up to 71%, lowers energy bills, keeps humidity and moisture getting into my home and much more of course I said yes, and it would be done on the same day as insulation WOO HOO His workers were there the next day, on time, and so professional, wore slip shoe covers, put down throw clothes to prevent my floors and carpet from dirt and or getting damaged, cleaned up after themselves, and waited patiently while i inspected what they had done, as well as answer my questions. They also called me within a few days, to make sure everything was working fine. WOW now thats cool. I'm couldn't be happier, its cold today, and i'm nice and warm.
