I'll give this a two star only because the owner is so accommodating and understanding. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the general manager. We spend thousands in this store for our five cats. And whenever we have to bring something back we are always hassled unless we deal directly with the owner who understands customer service. It's a shame she can't find a reliable service oriented manager instead of the self important lady they have in place. What difference does an exchange make. It should be done with a smile not an admonition. read more

My roommates and I have been coming to Nature's Pet for pet food since moving to Ashland a few years ago. The staff is absolutely lovely, are clearly knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their customers. They've given us a lot of help when we've added a new pet to our family, as well as when we've come in looking for advice regarding the food we're using for our pets. The last time we were in, the employee we spoke to went out of his way to not only help me with the questions I had but also assist my roommate with some questions she had-including asking her some questions she may not have thought to ask. read more

It's a fine place to buy good quality food and treats for your spoiled fur baby. The stuff is definitely not competively prices (as compared to online), BUT you pay for the convenience of immediate gratification and you are supporting a local business *thumbs up* They no longer offer discounted pet wash Wednesdays. I will probably not be back only because that was motivation to come in weekly. Afterwards, I would often stay to shop around and usually leave with at least an item or two regularly. Dropped in today to ask about low-protein dog food, on the advice of my vet, who diagnosed my 15-year old as having some degree of kidney failure. But when I asked, the cashier saw fit to advise me that they do not recommend low-protein dry food for such cases -- they recommend normal wet food. Something about dry food dehydrating the dog. I politely pointed out that they were at variance with current trends in veterinary medicine, and was told that the vets just recommend whatever Purina says. Sounds an awful lot like "the doctors are all lying about COVID because they are making money! Just take hydroxychloroquine!" I will try to continue to be polite here, but even if the name of the store is "Nature's Pet", you can offer nutritional advice, but keep your medical opinions to yourself, unless you have a DVM degree. read more

Great people doing great things for great beings. The helpful and knowledgeable staff helpe me each week to order all my bulk raw food at the same bulk prices I was getting in Seattle which has some larger holistic health food pet store chains and 30 times the population to drive prices much lower. Vicky and Brie have been very helpful and understanding in helping my fur baby get through some very difficult health issues. Having introduced me to Raw Goat's milk all my dogs have been immeasurably healthier. I'm so grateful for all their help and commitment to assisting their customer and loving animals. I am shocked and appalled that you would respond calling my dog having "severe matting & filth." My dog is well known in Ashland as a therapy dog. I started therapy dogs on campus for stressed out students at SOU, my dog has volunteered as a reading dog at Bellview Elementary School for 2 yrs, and currently volunteers in hospice/home care. He is required by Delta & TDI to be bathed and cared for prior to each visit. A proper business would have said "I am sorry for causing injury to your 7 lb. dog and would have paid the entire bill." To blatantly lie publicly on line only makes your business look worse. Very sad you are conducting your business this way. My vet clearly knew the cuts were from grooming because he was clipped under his armpit and sharply cut with scratches on his chest from the tips of where the scissors hit him. And not only did you clip my dog, ....YOU DID NOT TELL ME..... It shows to the public eye that you are not looking out for the well-being of animals. You are only looking for $$. Very very sad. Clean, well stocked, reasonable prices and a friendly staff. While making a quick detour to an ATM at B of A I noticed a new business opening in the space previously occupied by Supercuts. After reading the sign I walked in expecting to walk out overwhelmed by overpriced organic pet supplies, that wasn't the case at all. I was greeted within a minute or two by a very pleasant young man that took the time to walk me through the stores wares. There was a large variety of natural "human grade" pet food and all seemed very reasonably priced. Their pet sundries were likewise well priced with combs, brushes and grooming tools within the monetary reach of working humans. I love to spoil our pets, they are members of the family but in many cases the cost of feeding or spoiling them equals or exceeds the cost of feeding human members of the family so I find myself buying a bag of IAM's on sale at the grocery store. With the price and selections offered at Nature's Pet Market I'll be able to feed our animals well and reasonably. My only wish would be to see a wider selection of treats and raw hides at a lower price point. My 75 pound dog will devour a peanut butter filled bone or raw hide in an evening, at $ 5-7 each that gets a little costly (she just gets them less often than I would like). All in all a very nice store that I'm sure will become our "go to" pet supply venue. P.S. Apparently they will also start offering pet grooming very soon. read more

Best. Pet. Shop. Ever!!! I am very, very fond of Nature's Pet. They have taught me SO much about my dog Otis' nutrition. The staff is super nice and they treat me & my dog like gold. They also have an excellent (free to sign up) rewards program where you simply get $20 credit every time you spend $250. I would give this store a higher review if not for their tendency to offer unsolicited medical advice about pets and to talk down local veterinarians' treatments. Unlike my vet, the store's advice is entirely self-interested because they suggest their own store's products as treatment. And unlike a vet, if their advice is wrong or harmful to a pet, they have no risk of losing a license to practice or being sued for malpractice. Other than that, the store is perfectly friendly and helpful. read more

We've visited this place twice, and were dissatisfied each time. The first time we took our small, very easy going dog to get groomed we encountered a groomer who didn't seem to really like pets. She was impatient with our dog and somewhat forceful in her interactions with him. The second time, not only was the groomer (different from the first) not friendly with our dog, she also was unfriendly with me. It took over an hour and when I went to pick him up, the groomer was rude about not being finished. I am not the kind of person who needs a saccharine-sweet animal lover but do want someone who actually enjoys pets. We're going to be taking our dog somewhere else, from now on. read more

This place is awesome! My first experience with Vickie and her family owned business was when I was looking for special foods for my diabetic lab. Since then we have been through puppies to adult dogs regarding foods, supplements, treats, breeding information, and anything else you can imagine needing for your dog. These people have the best employees, customer service and products I have ever experienced! It is worth every penny and moment of your time to check this wonderful place out. I do not recommend this store. I just spoke with the manager on the phone. I was looking for the Feline KD special renal diet food and wanted to know if they had any. They don't. Instead of being courteous, she subjected me to a long lecture about how my vet didn't have a clue about cat nutrition and how most vets are not trained properly. The person I spoke with was rude. I bought some cat food there awhile ago and paid a fortune for it. My cats hated it so it was a waste of money. I will never shop at this store again. I am sure my vet knows what it good for my ca, not some store clerkt! read more

Riley, our dog finally found the perfect groomer and a place with the best pet supplies for him. After going in about 10 different stores I finally found a warm coat and sweater for Riley at Natures Pet Market. The staff is highly knowledgeable and really takes their time to make sure you get exactly what you need. Riley has been to four different groomers and he was always nervous and didn't want to go back. When I brought him in for grooming instead of cowering at the door he had fun getting pets from the groomers who loved him up until he relaxed. We took our Shih Tzu in last week to be groomed (having tried many different groomers in the Valley over the last 3 years and not having returned to any of them) - I was thrilled to be called just 45 minutes later (they only take one dog at a time) to find Seimei happy, wagging his tail and with the haircut I'd asked for! Jessica, the groomer, did a great job and reported he was even okay about his feet which is a much better result that we can achieve at home. Did I mention, he looked gorgeous as well? Cool place. Clean, bright and fun for the animals. My dog gets her nails clipped there monthly (for $7) and I am happy with the outcome. The best part is I can ask questions about my dog, and they usually have a suggestion/answer. Finally, the reward program is great. I get $20 free items once or twice a year since I buy my dogs' food, nail clippings and treats here. read more
