Four of us (two couples in their 70's) took the 1/2 day Canyon Lands Tour with the terrific MC as our driver/guide. The five passenger Lexus Land Cruiser made it a private tour. In addition to making us feel safe on some truly hairy rides, MC was a font of information on what we were viewing. He was very accommodating, taking many photos of the group and tailoring the short hikes to our abilities. The tour was much more than we anticipated or thought possible. Driver/guides like MC help make NAVTEC a great operation and we will certainly encourage anyone going to Canyon Lands to sign up for one of NAVTEC's tours. read more

This was a life changing trip. I don't mean to oversell this with that statement, but from my perspective this is 100% true. I went on the Cataract Canyon 3-day rafting trip with my grown siblings and didn't know what to expect. I had been rafting before, but never in the southwest. In short - we had a blast. The serenity of camping along the Colorado and looking up at the canyon walls is something I will always treasure. But what really made the trip was our guides - Jonah and Keefe. They shared secrets of the canyon, the history of both the canyon and the Colorado River whitewater, and their experience was crucial in our having a great trip. It was great fun to sit around the camp kitchen and talking story with Jonah and Keefe. And the whitewater was perfect. The Colorado had a rather high flow during our trip (somewhere around 40k CFS) which naturally can affect the rapids and they did not disappoint. The rapids were thrilling and our time in the boat running them was adrenaline-packed. I would have gotten right back in the boat for another run down the canyon if I had the foresight to book it. I had that much fun. Every aspect of this trip delivered. The rapids were thrilling and we appreciated Jonah's experience as we navigated them. The history of the canyon and the side hikes and chance to see petroglyphs and into Dark Canyon were a welcome additional dimension to the trip. The camping was special and I appreciated all that Jonah and Keefe did for us off the river. The meals were awesome (and better than I cook for myself). There's a perspective that one gets as they look up at a sky riddled with stars in a canyon who's walls tower above like natural skyscrapers. I had a blast and look forward to the next opportunity for a trip like this. I would not hesitate to book through Navtec again. read more

Worth every penny. We did a sunset keep tour with Charlotte. She was awesome- informative, friendly and funny. She adjusted the tour to meet our needs and it was perfect- we were two 40 something's and a 71 year old. She took us to spots you would miss on your own and we saw a thunderstorm roll in and the spectacular sunset. It was awesome. Highly recommend!! read more

We went on a river rafting trip with these guys yesterday!! We had a great time!! Our guide was great!! He was great with the kids from the other group!! The price was great!! Only negative we found was that we thought there would be a lot more rapids. It was mostly a river float with a few rapids! We still enjoyed our time but will probably go through these guys again when I come back! read more

Expectations were high as we hopped into the 4x4 for our sunset tour of Arches National Park and our driver, Lolly, did not disappoint. She knew so much about the park and the area and instantly had us engaged in conversation. Lolly could navigate the park and it's features with her eyes closed. She was a fun driver and showed us the backcountry as well as highlights we missed on our personal drive. She entertained us with historical stories, fun facts about films & actors, geological features and so much more. NavTec & Lolly were both a highlight of our time in Moab. Wow, we had a great experience even during the government shutdown! The recent snow made the Canyonlands even more beautiful. Our driver Charlotte was not only a great off-roader, she was a wealth of information about the Canyonlands and its geology. She's educated in geology and even showed us some dinosaur tracks in the Jurassic rock layer on the way out. She gave us such a great experience! read more

We did the full day with a 1/2 day 4x4 tour with Larry. He was very knowledgeable of Canyonlands, the culture, the company and of the town's history. If we asked a question he didn't know the answer to he would tell us he didn't know (meaning, we didn't get a made up answer). We did wish that during the bathroom break a water fill up was offered - just know you can ask and they will help you out, but careful how much you drink. It's a bumpy 4 hour ride with only one bathroom break! Then we went on the 1/2 day rafting trip. Our guide was young Nate (hahaha - sorry Nate). We were all very hungry and wished the lunch came sooner, or at least a snack. Going from 7:45 am check in time until after 1:00 pm is a long time without food (and maybe they have no control over that until you get to a non-private beach - I'm not sure just maybe bring a snack so you're not starving). It did however make lunch that more delicious!!!! The guides made sure they used gloves when cutting up the food to go on sandwiches, and offered chips for us to snack on while they prepared food. The bread was SOLID. Lots of water and lemonade powder to go around so that made it easy. Our guides made it really fun even though the rapids were on the weak side (not their fault, obviously). This is definitely safe enough to take kids (whatever their suggested age limit is) as long as they know how to swim. We had a great time and would HIGHLY recommend both tours and this company. I've already told my friends! On a side note you can purchase pictures of your rafting tours next door at Moyo (froyo). I've been on many rafting trips and they were good quality and getting the full CD of pictures is worth the money. Most companies charge more. They paired up with a good company on this one. read more

I had an excellent, full day of adventures with Navtec. My family and I began on their morning raft trip down the Colorado river with two cheerful guides... Terry and Colton. On our ride in the company van to the drop off, Terry told us about the history and other intriguing facts regarding the surroundings through which we were traveling. During our peaceful ride down the river, Colton worked very well with the kids on the trip and promoted a positive atmosphere. Very positive experience on the rafting trip. Later in the afternoon, we took a four hour 4x4, air conditioned, guided tour through the Canyonland National Park. I expected a four hour, anticlimactic tour through the desert. I was in for quite the surprise. My guide/driver, Rocky, a professional Geologist, gave the folks in our off road vehicle one heck of an experience through his expanse knowledge of the geological workings in the park. I expected from this tour to simply view a variety of terrain. Not only did I capture the beautiful of the national park, I also learned much!! I 100% recommend Navtec! read more

We took two half day 4x4 tours with Navtec. Arches with John and Canyonlands with Owen. Both tours were amazing! We saw places that we wouldn't have had access to on our own. Both guides were full of information about the parks and the land. Couldn't have asked for a better adventure! read more

The "off-road adventure" was a stock 90's Toyota Land Cruiser that went down a couple of dirt roads followed by a couple of hours of sitting around while they made lunch. The "white water rafting down the mighty Colorado river" was 3 miles of flat water. There was one solid class 1 maybe class 2 that was 30 feet long... the river guides were nice. Unless you pulled into town in a smart car and have never been in any kind of boat before, don't waste the money. read more

We went on the full day whitewater rafting tour on Westwater. Our guides were Vlad and Patrick and they did an awesome job! The ride out to the put in was long (about an hour and 45 minutes) and the ride back to the shop was only a little less than that but otherwise the day flew by. Guests don't paddle, the guides do the oaring and then use a little motor at the end to get through the windy part with the barely moving current. The views are gorgeous, the weather was great, and the water that soaked us in some of the rapids was refreshingly cold. It only got chilly the few times we were floating in the canyon's shadow but those times were short. We also asked if they could accommodate us as vegans for the included lunch and they did a great job with that, too. Everyone else ate meat and cheese sandwiches and they had plenty of fresh veggies, hummus, and avocado for our sandwiches. They also had fruit, chips, and Oreos. We loved our trip! read more
