Nawab has ruined me for other Indian restaurants. I've been to a good amount of Indian restaurants and none of them come close to the food Nawab has. I could easily recommend ten to fifteen dishes on their menu. The lunch buffet is so inexpensive and a great way to try a variety of dishes. There was a time when my Nawab addiction was pretty bad. We're talking 3-4 times a week here. The decor is a little cheesy but it looks better since they remodeled everything in pink. If you're lucky, you'll hear the instrumental version of "the final countdown" playing while you're there. The owners are very nice and the waitstaff are all very friendly and accomodating. I didn't really enjoy the lunch buffet. Maybe I'm spoiled having friends who cook authentic Indian food, but the dishes were all bland and there was a terrible looking salad bar that I didn't even taste. I am sorry that I almost never went to Nawab due to some poor reviews. Clearly, they were just written by people who like to complain. The service is amazing, my water glass never went empty and our food was well timed and hot. The dishes were delicious, the combo meal is a great deal with lots of choices with generous portions. I ordered spicy, which wasn't all that spicy, however, it might just be suited to the palates of the area. The coconut soup is the best ever, don't leave without trying it! Not many Indian places in Lehigh Valley to start, thankfully this place is good. Good food, good service and decent atmosphere... plus it's BYOB with a wine store and a 6-pack shop across the street. It doesn't get any better than that! We do take out mostly, if your going on the weekend think about a reservation. New Years Eve, the perfect place to go! We decided to travel about an hour to try the dinner menu at Nawab since my friend had tried the lunch for the buffet and said it was delicious. We were seated promptly and had some time to look over the menu. I decided to have Masala Tea (hot) and my husband had a strawberry lassi. Both were great! We decided to try the Vegetarian Platter for an appetizer. Everything on it was crisp and fresh. After we were finished with that our main meals were served. I ordered the Chef's special Biryani which was wonderfully seasoned. The yogurt sauce was delicious too. My husband and our friend both tried the platters which both had a nice assortment. I would recommend this restaurant to folks passing through the Bethlehem area or even making the drive to try it! We will be going back again! read more

This place is amazing! My bf and I took a chance with this restaurant while strolling down the street one day. If i'm not mistaken, we had the garlic naan for starter; let me tell you, it was so good! I can probably eat 10 of those. As for our main courses, we had Tandoori shrimp and chicken curry. I like the shrimp better for some reason. It was probably because of the freshness of the herbs and spices. As for the curry chicken, it was very light for me. Keep in mind that I love my curry spicy and strong so I kind of had a preference engraved in my head. All in all, it was a good experience. The bf and I finished everything that was on our table and it left the waiter very happy. I still remember the emotionless face he had when we first stepped in. This is the standard with which I hold all other Indian restaurants to. Very few measure up. The flavors are all spot on with the exception of not being spicy enough (capsaicin level I mean). The service also leaves a bit to be desired but I don't come here to be attended to I just want the bomb Indian food. Simply put, everything here is good. Samosas, all of their curry dishes, their fried rice dish was superb. Their condiments are also quite exceptional. The raita, the tamarind sauce, and the tomato/onion compote / salsa (I don't know what they call that condiment) are all dope. read more

Nawab has awesome Indian food! It never disappoints or leaves you walking away hungry. The walls are pink and sparkly which I think adds to the quirkiness. The service is so-so when it comes to friendliness but you get your food quickly and honestly that's why I'm there. I'd rather have prompt service than an overly friendly waiter any day. The restaurant is BYOB but don't let that deter you, stop at a liquor store down the street if you really need a stiff drink. Otherwise don't think twice about choosing to eat here. read more

I went for the buffet. Being a vegetarian this is one of the few places I can get a hot meal , and not just side dishes. The kormas are always good, as are most of the dishes with sauces. The naan and somosas were cold , and greasy. I found a better place in Lopatcong , NJ so I haven't been back to Nawab since. Service was great when I was there , nice place settings. My favorite restaurant! I dine here at least once a week. their lunch buffet is an absolute steal. It'sall you can eat fine dining food at a more than reasonable price. This review is long overdue. We have been frequenting Nawab for over ten years. I am going to keep this simple... 1. Nawab is hands down the best Indian Food in the Lehigh Valley area 2. They have a limited but tasty lunch buffet that is a great value. 3. Dinner is expensive, but oh so good. 4. They make excellent Naan 5. I can't comment on authenticity, but I can say that I love this place. Everything I've had here has been excellent, I really have no complaints - I love the food! When you go for dinner you can get your food as hot as you like, and as a lover of spicy foods I can say they make it pretty hot. However, if you go for the lunch buffet, the food won't be quite as spicy. The entree prices are low, but by the time you get all the stuff that goes well with it (naan, raita, etc ...), it's still fair priced. The atmosphere is nice. I've been there where it's been just me and my girlfriend and it's nice to have a quiet place to eat. The decorations and music are a little ... odd? but it doesn't take away from the awesome food. The owner is a little intimidating at times, but all the waiters are really nice. It's a lot better than I'd expect for being in a college town. Parking is a little bit rough, I recommend the lot behind the convenience store and campus pizza. I definitely recommend eating here, despite my knowledge of traditional or authentic Indian food. The best Indian food! I've eaten in other Indian restaurants that were good, but still think they don't hold a candle to Nawab. And don't get me started on Spice India in Whitehall! I've given them more tries than they deserve and don't understand how anyone thinks that's good food or can even be compared to Nawab. I used to live 5 min from Nawab and would sometimes get buffet multiple times a week. It's now considered a special treat and the much longer drive is as torturous to us as a kid's Christmas Eve. We literally sit in the car going, "Oh my God, Nawab. Oh my God, we're gonna have Nawab." Aside from the fantastic food and great value of the buffet, I have never had less that stellar service. It's a more intimate place where the people know us when we walk in and remember items we usually order before we can request them. And I don't believe I've ever had an empty water glass. It is my favorite restaurant and I would be happy if I could have Nawab every day. read more

I went here for the first time the Sunday after an Indian wedding and thought I had already had my Indian food fix for the week, but boy was I surprised. This was real, authentic Indian food, and I know this because I went with people who were born and raised in India. They go there almost every week and I understand why. One of my favorite Indian restaurants ever. I still have yet to find a Chana masala better. You can taste the tanginess of the tamarind in the sauce, with a beautiful marry of spices.
