I came to 88 Pot with my daughter on a random Friday night. It was not as busy as I thought it would be. We were seated right away. It's a different concept to dinner because I actually had to cook my own food and I'm still not sure how I felt about that experience. After we sat down, we were welcomed warmly by our server. He was a very nice gentleman. I think his name was Casper. He gave us the full rundown so basically you can order as much as you like. The price was $39.99. You have two hours to eat as much as you want. And whatever you don't eat, they throw in the garbage or you have to pay for it. You can't take anything home. They also had a buffet in the back with sides, like they had crab legs, shrimp, rice, & noodles. They also had a Fixins bar with all of your seasonings for your meal, salt, pepper, scallions, soy sauce , etc. I decided to get the chicken and the steak and for my soup I went with a hearty soup broth, with added noodles yams, scallions, corn, and onions in my soup. Casper brought us out our raw meats, turned on the flames, and we basically sat had a conversation while our meal cooked, flipping constantly. I think I cooked my steak a little bit too hard because it was tough. However, my soup was delicious. I couldn't get enough of it. I ate almost a whole pot of soup. My overall experience was maybe a seven out of 10 just because I personally don't like to cook my own food, but everything else was great.

Had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner at 88 Korean BBQ. As expected, they were busy, but the process was smooth, they take your phone number and text you when your table is ready, which made the wait more manageable. Our server was outstanding! He explained how everything works, set clear expectations given how busy they were, and checked in on us several times to make sure we were taken care of. The teamwork among the staff was impressive there wasn't a single moment where we felt ignored or had to awkwardly try to get someone's attention, we had different people show up to drop off food and drinks. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. As someone who's been to several Korean BBQ spots in NJ and NY, I was really impressed by both the quality and the price here. Bonus points for the great drink selection! Highly recommend.

Our server Rachel was fabulous. The food however I felt was all flash frozen, delivered Cool or cold then after cooked either tasted and felt weird. The meat shrunk in the tasteless Hot Pot. The BbQ part also not fun to me. Too much work actually. Even a little annoying. I didn't complain honestly. I'm sure my family was happy with that. It was my first and last time I tried Korean bbq. If this is a chain it makes sense to me. I'll end it with $$$.

Plenty of seating and look, robots!

My cousin and his fiancé brought me here after Christmas to grab some dinner. I was a little skeptical when we pulled into the shopping center about whether this place could pull off Korean barbecue and traditional hot pot. But I know better than to judge a restaurant by their storefront. This place was huge! I saw it has both intimate tables for two and large booths for groups. All tables have a grill for Korean barbecue and are also set up so that each person gets their own individual hot pot. There's large TVs everywhere to watch sports, and I heard that when they first opened, they played a ton of K-pop, but have since switched to mainstream music. I'd love to hear them bring back K-pop, at least mixing in a few songs here and there. The night we went, they were slammed and our waitress who admitted she was brand new did a great job! Just ordering here is a process because you've got to go through the meats, then the veggies and what not for hot pot and then the same for the Korean barbecue. She got it all and it all came out pretty quick. They also have dessert bar and a make your own sauce bar in the back. It took me a couple tries to get the sauce right and probably still needs some work, but that's my sauce, mixing skills not the restaurant's fault. Everything that we ordered came out at once which was great, but made it a cooking frenzy for us. Our grill was hot so we had to really stay on top of our grilling to avoid overcooking our food. It would've been nice for someone to come back around and check in to see if needed help adjusting the grill and hot pot controls. Fortunately, my cousin and his fiancé had been there before so we were able to figure it out, but I'm hoping next time we won't be left to fend for ourselves. Overall, though the dining experience was pretty good, and I would consider coming back here. If you're looking for a crowd pleaser, that's got lots of food options this place is worth checking out.

Food was excellent!! I understand that there were service issues in the past. I've been twice and service was outstanding. Ask for Danielle, she's a hoot. Carter is the guy in front that can be abrasive. He's a good guy, he just needs a hug. Tip: buy a gift card when you arrive. A $100 gift card gets a $15 bonus. My meal for 5 was $198. I bought 2 gift cards for $200 and used the $30 bonus toward the tip. I think the meat is excellent!! The hot pot is OK. I get the spicy Sichuan and it's a 7/10. In the future, I'll avoid filling up on hot pot and will save room for the good stuff. I like that the dipping sauce station has recommended recipes. I like the typical + sesame oil and extra chili. They will get a liquor license soon, right now it's BYOB. Call ahead to confirm.

Overall a great first time at a Korean hot pot AND bbq. I've only done bbq before. The style inside kind of reminds me of a Chinese buffet, but it is all you can eat. We were placed at a table but before we sat down a woman came and moved us to a section where no one else was sitting (I assume because I had my service dog with me). But that's fine with me. I get it haha Our waitress was very helpful! On how to cook and how much to order (although I of course still ordered too much). And since it was our first time they gave us a seafood sampler! I really really enjoyed the bulgogi and spicy meat options. I definitely recommending grabbing dipping sauces from the salad bar. My main complaint was my spicy Szechuan hot pot lacked a lot of flavor. I was warned it would be really spicy and it really wasn't, but that's fine because I added heat from the salad bar! But I needed to add a lot of condiments to get it to a good flavor. Overall, considering the price and great service I would definitely recommend! Oh and they have a bar now

We decided to go to 88 hot pot. The place is nicely kept and we were welcomed by a very nice hostess. The place is surrounded by screens with lovely music playing as you dine. We walked in without reservations and were immediately taken to our seat. The menu is very limited. They have a fruit and snack bar and also a condiments station as well. Everything we tried was fresh except for the salmon. The broth for the hot pot was very tasty. I have it a 4.5 because our waitress was missing in action most of the time. Our metal tray (cooking tray) was never changed, nor our plates. We were never given the usual instructions or recommendations. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Came on their first day and it was fairly busy. There are things that I think could be improved which I'll outline below. But because they're so new I'll cut them so slack. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing. Everything is nice and new with an up to date feel. There are televisions but without audio and the music is mainstream pop music but they are mostly covers of songs. They appear understaffed so cleaning tables or picking up stuff on the floor seemed somewhat slow. Food: nothing I could complain about. Everything was great quality from the salmon to shrimp to the bulgogi to brisket or pork belly. The only issue is the grill caps at 350 degrees, so it takes a while to cook some food and you may not get that charred taste (or it'll take a while) you may want especially if you're eager to eat. Heads up, the amount of plates you order correspond to serving size. For instance one brisket order is good for about 1 person. Side dishes & sauces: this is self serve. you get a mix of fruits (most are fairly sweet), desserts (not great cakes and not hygienic ice cream), seaweed salad, TONS of different sauces and spices (with recommendations on what combination to use) - their in house sauce was impressive Service: very nice staff but I can't say they were attentive. Seemed to be somewhat slower service but this is their day 1 opening so I can't fault them for staff trying to learn everything Things to improve: 1) MAJOR concerns with the icecream being self scooped. Watched a kid lick the serving spoon and go back in. Not hygienic... needs to be fixed 2) the self serve bar and where workers walk when changing hot stoves should be different - having people carry hot items through the same place where people are getting food is a dangerous situation waiting to happen 3) the grills capped at 350 is too low, the food cooks too slowly... Overall, I'm hoping as the place continues to get feedback and works out kinks, they will improve. This is the only AYCE kbbq I'm aware of in the area so I hope they succeed! Planning to come back for hotpot and see what changes have been implemented compared to day 1! Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Simply amazing…read more.. While most people were indulging in Sunday brunch, my girlfriend wanted Chinese food. As we drove, she read the description for U & TEA and we knew we had to go. The place is clean with plenty of room and great lighting -- and the entire establishment is food focused. Our server helped with teas and plates and we placed our orders. My girlfriend got sweet and sour chicken for her main meal. It was obvious the food was fresh and the dish had been cooked in fresh oil (and only for a short amount of time). The sauce was delicate and subtle, which allowed the flavor of the tender chicken to shine through. And what a plate! She ended up having leftovers for two days. Although I normally order seafood, I love duck and have it once or twice a year. From the menu, their duck dishes looked fantastic. Our server recommended the Peking Duck, which I had always wanted to try. That dish brought Alice Gatsch with it. She is kind and engaging and introduced how I should properly eat Peking Duck. She walked be through the steps of how to prepare the buns with scallion, cilantro, and sauce. I wish I could convey how tender the duck was and how crispy the skin had been. It was incredible and I somehow cleared my plate (and didn't eat for the rest of the day). We cannot wait to return. Alice said she'd be happy to walk me through ordering a truly traditional meal and I look forward to that experience. The staff and food are too fantastic to pass up. I highly recommend you make a visit of your own!
