First let me say before i arrived here i checked out the restaurant online and it's not clear online that it's actually a "buffet" because the menu does not give u the option online via the Casino website. i found out on the bud trip it was a buffet. The hostess and servers are nice. however the food is bland. Very bland. it would be better with more food options. No fried chicken! No seafood. the cake tastes stale. no cookies and the fountain drinks has a funny taste to them. I had a few different ones and even the diet. it takes like the fountain needs to be changed. I had orange chicken. it horrible. Terriyaki chicken. No. Pizza. It was ok and corn. It would be better with better food options a little more seasoning and seafood. Great breakfast option in the casino. Booths, tables and bar seating. Hostess was lackluster - long line just to be seated, but table service was fantastic. Napoleon was friendly efficient and knowledgeable. He got our drinks quickly, then came back for our orders. Food came out quickly and was good. Only 4 stars due to limited menu - it's not a breakfast buffet, which is okay, but not many choices. I ordered the standard breakfast and the oatmeal thinking the oatmeal would be a tiny bowl. It was a giant bowl of oatmeal but honestly tasted like several packets of instant oatmeal. I like the service more than the food. Server hustled by cleaning out plates quick, refilled drinks, and followed up on any needs quickly. Food had mid-level quality and lack options. However, if you just need to eat specific options and not sample, you'll be fine. I ate a plate of cod, lobster ravioli, and some veggies. I normally sample but just needed some decent food to fill me up in a healthy way. I can see the dissatisfaction from others that have a different standard. We used our food credits for Lobsterfest. The lobster was plentiful and excellent (tails only), with plenty of melted butter. For about $30, you really can't go wrong with this buffet, and they also offer at military discount! The only miss was the lemon cod, which was overcooked and dry. The rest of the options were excellent. My favorites were the chicken noodle soup, orange chicken, fettuccini with bacon and cabbage, Italian sausage, and meatball Parmesan. The desserts are also good. Boston cream pie was good as was the chocolate cream. In the way out, I grabbed a cone with soft serve to walk around the casino. First time at Steelworks, located adjacent to the Wind Creek Casino. A comfort food menu with a midday buffet option is what they offer. I kept it simple with a Reuben and a Diet Coke. The soda lemons still had stickers on them. The Reuben was a nice size and came with fries, but overall, it was a below average sandwich. 3 stars as the people were nice and it's reasonably priced for waiter service, but I'd rather go to the food court. read more

"Meh" - I was not expecting great things from an average casino that has some mediocre restaurants. This actually went below my expectations. I ordered something real basic so they couldn't mess it up. A grilled cheese. It was barely grilled. When I looked at the cross section I could see and count each slice of cheese...so it was not melted together and it was not ooey gooey like a grilled cheese should be. It was served luke warm. The buffet was not open for a while because of the pandemic. I'm very glad it has reopened in the last year because they have made some changes that are very significant. They always have ribs, chicken, baked fish as well as many different sides to choose from. There is always a pizza and pasta bar open where you can choose your favorite toppings and sauces. I've never had any problems with food freshness or quality. Only once or twice I've been there and the ice cream machine was out of service or something. This place sits inside of Wind Creek casino. Nice place to relax between gambling or before leaving. Tv for watching sports is always a bonus when eating. They play some pop rock music in the air. Had the quesadilla and chicken wings. The Honey Garlic wings are always on point. Cooked just right. The spicy quesadilla was not so spicy but the flaky bread was good for it. Service was great. Place looked nice. Food was terrible. I ordered the fish tacos. The shrimp was over cooked, the rice was 100% minute rice, and everything about it was so cheap. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and had one bite and spit it out. Shrimp wasn't even cooked and the whole dish was grey which I've never seen before and the garlic bread was frozen garlic bread. My cousin had the burger and it was ordered medium and came out like a hockey puck. Need to hire a new chef ASAP! 100% do not recommend. There's not many options for food at Wind Creek besides the food court. My husband and I had a room and after a morning of gambling we decided to try their buffet. I saw a lot of negative reviews, but wanted to try anyways. We were seated at a booth in a corner and we were so cramped we had to sit next to each other. My husband and I tried almost a little bit of every dish. I loved the salad bar and the pizza, but everything else, (including the dessert) was not seasoned well. For example, the gravy for the mashed potatoes tasted like corn starch. Everything from the mac and cheese to the fried rice and pasta salads were FLAVORLESS. I ended up eating two plates of salad and pizza. Believe the reviews and save your money! I'm giving them a star for their salad and pizza and another star for our waitress who took good care of us. I wish the casino had some better food options, but we actually had better food at the food court for dinner. We stop. read more

Avoid the buffet. It's not horrible food but it's not great either. Definitely not worth $20+. The ribs and mashed potatoes were decent. The Mac and cheese was the worst. The pizza looked bad. The dessert station was a mess and not fresh looking at all. No labels on any of the desserts. Had no clue what most of it really was. One thing I would like to say after eating here, it's overpriced at $24 per person. They should offer some sort of discount or some coupons. Also, no prices are posted up for the cost of buffet. Stay away from the turkey meatballs (too salty), rice pudding and chocolate pudding, wasn't fresh tasting. The thing that ticked me off during our visit, we came with four people and they sat us at a corner table in a busy spot right next to the entrance, near the dessert buffet. We saw a non-white couple who came in right before us get seated by a non-white hostess in one of those comfortable cushioned booths by the wall which was big enough for at least 4-6 people! After visiting the casino many times, I finally had the chance to come and check this place out. There's plenty of seating, but they take quite some time to check in if you're coming here for the buffet. We were in line for at least 15 minutes (and it wasn't packed). I've been here twice, once for the buffet with all you can eat crab legs, and another time for the regular breakfast menu. Staff is friendly, and some of the food is good, but I find it's only worth coming to if you're interested in feasting on crab legs. Aside from that, nothing particularly special. This was our third time to this casino and our first time eating at the buffet. Our prior visits we ate at the food court and were impressed. We intended to eat there again this time but the our bus organizer raved about the buffet and at her suggestion we decided to give them a try. Given the time it was considered lunch and the price was *only* $25/pp. In two hours the price increased to $35, which little or no change in menu items. So be mindful of when you go. Honestly hubby and I were both disappointed. Golden Corral has by far more selections at half the price. To sum it up we saw the following: 2 types of pizza, 2 Chinese dishes, a salad bar featuring less than the grocery store variety, one fish choice + shrimp cocktail, a creamed spinach, several starch dishes, a cabbage casserole, two meats, an empty and unattended pasta station, a few cake choices, ice cream, a sugar free apple pie, and two soups. I did like the cream spinach and it was the best dish I had. Only two varieties of meat and no beef was disappointing so I filled up on starches. The Chinese fried dumplings were hard and overcooked and incredibly salty. I longed for more freshness, perhaps broccoli or fresh green beans. I was surprised they didn't even have corn! It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and they had stuffing, but why? There was a pasta bar but only the sauce was there, no pastas, and it was unattended. I did try two of the desserts; the pecan pie was excellent while the German chocolate cake was extremely dry and falling apart. The atmosphere felt clean and upscale. Our waitress did a good job of keeping our waters filled and our plates cleared. There was never a line at the buffet despite being about half occupied. We did see a manager check the temperature as well as several employees stirring the dishes and doing general buffet clean up. We stayed long enough (after all we had 5 hours to kill before the bus ride home) to bypass the dinner time and only witnessed one change in the menu. They added a pork and sauerkraut dish in lieu of a cabbage casserole. Again I was astonished that they didn't add more seafood or a beef dish. I would not recommend or dine here again. While I lost all the comp money I got back from the bus I felt our biggest lose collectively was the $50 we spent to eat at the buffet. read more
