We live in the neighborhood and just tried it for the first time last night. We picked up (a little on the early side) and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Everything was soo delicious...I mean really great and satisfying. I say this not as an indian cuisine expert, but as an american with occasional severe cravings for indian takeout. The one star I took off is because it was a little on the expensive side for the two of us, but I recommend ordering with 4-5 people and splitting many dishes, as the menu has a lot to offer. Went on a date on a Sunday night and there were little kids running around the place who were not there for a meal. The atmosphere was beautiful and romantic but couldn't even hear the music. So much for the romantic date I had imagined after seeing their website. A restaurant should never be a playground no matter what night of the week. Then when the check came they charged twice for one of the dishes we only got one. This happened to the couple eating next to us too. I'd advise you to review your check for errors before you pay. Very bad service. They were more concerned with take-out orders then people sitting in the restaurant. Food came in intervals with long waits in between. Had to cancel one dish which came after we were done eating. Server even forgot to serve us drinks which we ordered at the beginning. No concept of customer service. Was here for an event at the banquet hall portion, the food was great especially the appetizers. The hall was clean, nicely decorated and had an overall nice ambiance. However, the waiters would not refill the food after it was running low, guests had to wait around for them to fill the samosas, chai and sweets. I have travelled across South Asia and tried nearly every South Asian eatery, restaurant, cafe, you name it in the Manhattan and Westchester area -- the food at Nawab's is, hands down, THE BEST. And for the picky and finicky about cleanliness and style among us, the place is very clean and the ambience is pleasant. Service is good and the managers make a point of being polite. Nothing to even remotely think of complaining about and everything to praise. Even if it is out of your way, if you value a good South Asian meal at very reasonable prices, you do not want to miss this wholesome meal. I celebrated my 21st birthday here and had a great time! I was with 15 other people and the service was excellent. We received our food promptly and it was delicious!! Best Indian food that I and a bunch of my highly critical and experienced Indian food lovers have ever had. They claim to be multinational asian but it seems to be more Indian fusion. All the basic Indian foods were cooked perfectly with great seasoning that just popped. Been twice now for lunch with five different people and everyone kept going back for more even way past being full. And when you finally think you can't eat any more, the owner compels you to try the rice pudding desert and it was so good that everyone went back for at least seconds on that too. Seriously dangerous cause its all you can eat. The Indian classics- Naan bread, Tandoori chicken, lamb with yogurt, tandooris, samosas, tikkas were all there. The owners were there both times too and super nice and told us how they worked hard to find two great chefs they brought in at some considerable cost from overseas to cook for them full time. So psyched this is in Yonkers and super cheap. The only other review here complains about not having enough different dishes and having to pay for coffee. Are they kidding, there were at least a dozen different dishes on each of my visits and the owners told us not to be embarrassed about going back for maybe our tenth time to fill our plates. read more

Freshest Paki/asian food i have tried in a while. service is good, My only gripe is that there are no Cocktails, but thats just one man's opinion. Staff is friendly and the owners are usually there. The place is definitely on its beginning stages but i can see this place easily becoming a secret little hot spot. try the Talwar champ (lamb chops) and the Biryani. I was pretty happy to find an Indian place nearby my apartment with such good reviews on Yelp but I was pretty disappointed. Firstly, it is nice that there is a free parking lot right next door to the restaurant. However, the area is not the best and many homeless people hang out in that parking lot. It isn't the safest to walk through at night, even though it really isn't that far from the parking lot to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is nice, well decorated, and the service is excellent. However, the food is not very good and that's mostly why I gave it only 3 stars. We had the chicken tikka masala and one of the lamb dishes. The chicken quality was quite poor and all dark meat chicken. The sauce also just wasn't very good - it was extremely oily, not spicy (though we ordered it spicy), and truly lacked flavor. The lamb dish was the same and extremely fatty lamb which just doesn't taste good in Indian food. The naan was good and I appreciated that they brought a salad for free. However, it just isn't worth it to come here. There's better Indian restaurants around. read more

This Pakastani-Indian is a terrific addition to the burgeoning downtown Yonkers restaurant scene. Our party of four enjoyed meat and vegetarian dishes which we shared--all really delicious. Both the skewer and butter chicken dishes we're incredibly tender; like not to be believed tender. The okra in tomatoes and onions and the palak paneer were also outstanding. The garlic naan was nice and light. As rich and savory as the food was, it was not heavy or overly oily as can be the case at many Indian establishments. Attentive service throughout. As this is a halal restaurant there is no alcohol on the premises. They also deliver which is a big plus. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Sometimes Nawab is a solid 5-star place, sometimes it barely deserves a 3. This opinion is mostly based on the inconsistency of the weekend buffet. Got there today at 2 and the choice was very limited with their butter chicken being just butter and no chicken. That's ok, I get it, it's the leftovers from the banquets they hold. A hit and miss deal. What's not acceptable is tricking you to buy bottled water. The first time I saw a bottle on my table I refused it and asked for tap water so they took the bottle away and poured me a glass from it. Weird but I assumed that they just don't serve tap water (they used to leave a pitcher on my table). Today I went ahead and drank the bottled water and when the bill came there was a $2 charge for the water. I usually don't think it's worthwhile arguing over some change so I just paid and left. But I left with the feeling of being cheated by the people that actually remember me from my previous visits. Overall, good food but I don't like being screwed. Not going back. read more

My Pakistani husband and I were really looking forward to giving this place a try because we live in lower Westchester . To our disappointment, we were seated and ignored for 15 minutes without even a glass of water or apology while the owner and waiter sat at the bar talking to their friend. There was even a waitress at the bar who was just standing around. The restaurant is also in a very shady area and being 8 1/2 months pregnant, I didn't feel safe parking down the street and walking to the restaurant. The woman on the phone told us it would be a 30min wait and we ended up asking her to cancel the order because we had to leave the house. Absolutely unacceptable. Have been here a few times for the lunch specials that I had seen when walking through Getty Square to shop. Have to admit that at first I had to be coerced by my friends to try it, but it is delicious. Good amount of food for the price. Tasty desserts. Fresh fluffy rice with good sauces/curries.
