I'm a huge NBA fan and we are in the midst of the NBA Finals, so on my NY trip, I had to stop here. It was actually my first time so I was excited to see the store. I liked seeing all the jerseys, merchandise, and random giant bobbleheads of LeBron and Steph. I thought the free Pop-a-Shot machines were cool and the 2K station was a nice touch. However, for a flagship store, I really wanted there to be something that really wowed me and that I would remember. Unfortunately, there wasn't. On a positive note, the prices weren't outrageous and were comparable to the online store. I will definitely come back on my next trip up to NY. read more

This is the WORST online purchase EVER! The basketball came with a valve leak and would not hold air for more than an hour. I have made five phone call attempts to return it and all I get is the runaround. Finally someone said, the return label has been emailed to you, but it never was. Now I get another email saying they need a photo of the defective product. Not sure how I send a photo of leaking air (I explained this to them over and over again), but will do as they ask. When you call them all they do is give you excuse after excuse after excuse. Frankly, if I'm not happy with their product for whatever reason I should have the right to return it for a full refund. Dropped by this store many times to check out the basketball shoes, jerseys, shirts and NBA related souvenirs. Packed like crazy every single time! Too many darn people everywhere, hard to navigate through aisles and actually stand to look around. Very stressful! No sale items, really. A big store, but a little too compact, full of too much stuff and people all over. Feels stuffy inside, cramped. Hard to walk around at times with bodies in front of you and behind you. Can get annoying when you simply want to look at some stuff you might like, but there are others in your fricking way! My issue is with the nbastore.com website. I ordered a $100 gift certificate on 8/18/2020. It was shipped on 8/21/2020. By 8/31/2020, it had not been received. I called customer service, and there was no USPS tracking number for the package. So, here's my warning if you order a gift certificate from nbastore.com: 1) You will receive a confirm email stating that the gift certificate will arrive in 3 weeks. Went to this store today looking for a Penny Hardaway jersey. I went to the Mitchell and Ness section and asked the staff member who was folding t shirts if they carried any Penny Hardaway jerseys at the store. He says "not at this time." I literally took 2 steps past him and saw a whole rack of nothing but Penny Hardaway jerseys and I said "oh you have a bunch here." His response was "oh." and absolutely nothing else. They want $9.99 to return an item! AND they don't do exchanges for size so if you need another size you need to return the original item which costs you $9.99 more and you have to pay the shipping for the replacement item which in this case is $4.99. (Hmmm $4.99 to ship it to me and $9.99 to ship it back?) Then on top of that they will not honor the original price it was bought at. I purchased an item before Christmas 2019 with a coupon code and they will not honor that price for the new (exchange) item. So to do an "exchange" I have to pay $9.99+$4.99+$18.97 an extra $33.92 to get THE SAME EXACT ITEM! read more

This is like candy land for people who love the NBA and basketball. Everything that you see on the court that the pros wear, are in this store. This shop is definitely on the pricy side, but NBA pairing up with Nike might have been the best thing. All their gear is FIRE. (Suggestion) Was in the NBA store recently and noticed a basketball hoop in the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to have a dunk contest/some type of dunk related challenge once a month or so in the store. If someone can dunk a ball they get a free jersey of their choice. ALSO, customer service BLOWS. i have bought 8 lakers jerseys - all fine and mostly on fanatics. i bought one from NBA store (supposedly same supplier as fanatics). the NUMBER was peeling off within six weeks. ALL our other jerseys from LAST SEASON are STILL in good condition. i wash in cold and never put in the dryer. Maybe it's just me but my expectations of a store that represents the NBA should be a bit more customer focused. I get that it's in NYC and it's always busy but in no way should a customer be asked to close the door when they leave, isn't that what employees are for? Gaming stations are always occupied and employees seem to care more for talking with eachother than helping customers find things. The store layout is a bit confusing and instead of having team sections they split to mens, womans and kids. The result of this is that when you try to find your favorite teams gear you have to go all around the store cause there will be a shirt on one side of the store and another on the other side of the store (consider yourself lucky if it's on the same floor). This Website Vendor SUCKS and I'm pretty sure the actual store sucks too! Bought a $55 dollar (plus tax, shipping = $66 total) hoodies from you guys, when it got here, it was probably worth at most a $10 POS! Cheap ass screen printing job, hoodie is some no name Ross junk. Swap meet NBA gear is printed better!! Sizing is ALL OVER The place. Size small was like a size LARGE. So how do you return it? well look on the website site, print their return label so you can get jacked $6 in processing fees! NAH, I'm cool, I'll just ship it back USPS. So when I got my refund, it was for $54.06, when my original order was for $54.99. How the FUCK do I get back LESS than what I paid for? You guys schmucks? Pyramid schemers? Takes 3 mins to navigate their phones to get some lazy ass on the phone to explain that " we charge a return fee to use our labels". Well I didn't use your label! Please hold while I investigate this issue...... For a well known BRAND/STORE, you guys sure like to go cheap on everything else. Sadly our visit to the NBA store was very disappointed. The store was organized and everything folded neatly however the size selection was very poor. We struggled to find size Medium and large, there was an abundance of small and xtra large. Lots of associates on the selling floor tasking but helpful when we approached them asking for help finding sizes. We manage to get some jerseyes and jackets totaling closed to $500. And then we got to the register....The associate at the cash wrap was very arrogant and didn't engaged with us during the transaction. He was more concern about checking his cell phone and talking to the other cashier than trying to ring the transaction quickly and professional. He bagged all the items in one plastic bag. I asked him for two shopping bags to separate the purchase and he refused. I though he was joking but he was dead serious. He was super slow, the transaction took very long time to be rang up. I didn't catch the associate name but he has the James Harden look a like syndrome. read more

Top level is kids, shoes and hats; the street level is their newest additions; and on the basement level is where all the jerseys and team apparels are located. There have been three NBA stores. The first one was around 5th Avenue and 52nd Street. The 2nd one, which was kinda lame, was on 5th and I think 47-48th street. This location is a block away from the second location. The first location was the best. it had a mini basketball court and a café. Some NBA players even signed autographs at that location. While this isn't as impressive as the 1st location, it's still pretty cool. It has all of the NBA memorabilia you want. There are a million Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis jerseys. There are also signed basketballs, sneakers, caps, framed pictures, bobble heads, book bags, basically everything you can think of (there was a display of Shaq's sneaker. His sneaker is as large as my forearm). There's a small WNBA section on the 2nd floor, but women's basketball is as interesting as a late night infomercial. The 2nd floor also featured a NBA 2K game console. You can actually play the game (besides a brief visit to Barcade, I haven't player videogames in over 15 years. I can't even afford the systems). Modell's sells NBA apparel at a cheaper price than the NBA store. Nevertheless, I encourage people to visit. You can simply look at the product you want and then buy it at Modell's. The only reason I didn't give the NBA store a 5 is because I saw an employee cough right on a jersey. read more

This new flagship is much improved from previous stores. The location is perfect on 45th and 5th. I was most impressed by the courteousness of salespeople. They had a very positive vibe. The men's selection of jerseys andT's is very good, with a good variety of all teams and star players. I would have liked to see more Hardwood Classics, but still very good otherwise. Yay, the NBA store is back... well sort of. It' still a nice place to hang out and visit whenever you pass by. Tons of NBA gear and souvenirs, but something is missing here. The old NBA store was still much better with a court you could shoot around in, not here. The player shoes and hand prints are gone too, unless I missed it, but that made an interesting visit. Another thing I miss are the old NBA jersey prices, man have they jacked up the price on them. For such a cheap material (polyester/nylon) and lack of it, there is really no reason why the authentic jerseys should cost that much. Also the NBA has a strong connection with sneakers. Anyone into the sneaker game knows about limited sneakers and signature shoes. The only ones they have are the generic ones you find everywhere, which is pretty boring. But again, its still a nice store to hang out in especially on a weekday and if you're a basketball fan. Not sure if its worth it to fight through the tourists that like to stand in the middle of the sidewalks doing nothing on a weekend though. read more

Great staff . I walked around the store for 30-45 minutes asking for a Plain ole NY hat. And even though they didn't sell them they were very understanding and helped me pick out the perfect basketball team Christmas gift for my family members when I was 100% confused ! The staff are also very hard workers. When a bunch of clothes with mixed together in clearance , one of the staff removed the clothes that weren't there and found the exact size and team I was looking for, for the actual clearance price . Some stores will wait until you're at the register to tell you they aren't clearance, which means the staff at this store actually KNOW their merchandise. read more

This is a great store . Plenty of authentic gear to choose from , even have a section for my Hubby's favorite Mitchel and Ness. There is even an area to shoot hoops on the second floor . I was very interested in purchasing memorabilia at this store. However, this arrogant and brash salesman by the name of James who thinks he's a stockbroker was trying to sell me too hard. I got turned off by his approach as he started to yell in the store " IM THE TOP SALESMAN HERE". Parents began taking their kids out of the store as he started to frighten the children. When I decided not to purchase anything, he started to disrespect me by saying that I'm not a big enough baller to have this anyway. Zero stars. I ordered a single gift card for my father's bday because his team won last year. Website said 3-7 days shipping before I confirmed. After I confirmed my shipping eta became 15 days. One month after placing the order (and long past my father's bday) I still haven't received the gift card. I called them to see if they would email me the gift card instead and I was told I'd get a call back within 2 days. That never happened and I checked my order status to find out they canceled my order. I specifically said I don't want to cancel it to the person on the phone. How did this go so wrong? I was surprised by my experience at the NBA store. They had many cool clothes and toys but their teams that they had were very slim. For example I am a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks. They had very few options of things to buy for the Milwaukee Bucks. On the other hand there were many choices for Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, and Boston Celtics. So if you were a fan of those teams you would have a completely different experience than what I had. read more
