BEWARE! I chose Nhi because of how her experience, portfolio, and expertise were presented online. Based on her marketing and social media presence, I expected a highly skilled permanent makeup artist with a meticulous consultation process and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those expectations. Looking back, I realized much of the same content and images appeared to be RECYCLED CONTENT ACROSS HER SOCIAL MEDIA, which gave me a different impression of the depth and consistency of her work than I had before my appointment. Before my permanent eyeliner procedure, I received ZERO MEDICAL SCREENING AND ZERO INFORMED CONSENT PROCESS WHATSOEVER. My health history was not comprehensively reviewed, and I was not adequately educated about the risks, potential complications, alternatives, or healing expectations. Given that this is a service involving needles and blood, I also expected proper medical screening, clear safety protocols, and a strong emphasis on hygiene and client safety, which should absolutely be standard in this kind of work. Another MASSIVE CONCERN was the mapping process. Nhi was using blunt china marker for mapping. She drew a shape that was not representative of the reference photos I had shown her via text and multiple times during the appointment. Instead of removing it, she was rubbing on my eyes with a wooden q tip with the cotton pulled off and was scratching and irritating my eyelids. She continued tracing with smudges of china marker all over my eyes, and it was unclear to see what she was actually doing. I wanted a thin clean line which was impossible to map using a thick blunt china marker. At one point she handed me the marker to draw on the eyeliner. The lines looked rough and asymmetrical to me, and despite providing multiple reference photos throughout the consultation, I did not feel those references were reflected in the pre-draw or the final result. When I RAISED CONCERNS ABOUT THE SHAPE AND PLACEMENT, I did not feel heard. Instead, I felt discouraged from questioning the design and was told to trust the process. I was also described as "picky," which made me feel dismissed rather than respected. Looking back, I wish I had insisted on stopping the procedure until I felt completely confident. The final result was not what I wanted. I am now undergoing laser removal, which has been painful, time-consuming, expensive, and emotionally distressing. This has added costs, downtime, and months of corrective treatment that I never anticipated. My biggest concern was not just the final result, it was the entire consultation, communication, and informed consent process that led up to it. Permanent eyeliner is not a routine beauty service; it is a permanent cosmetic tattoo with long-term consequences. Clients deserve a thorough consultation, comprehensive medical screening, a meaningful informed consent process, a clear discussion of risks, limitations, alternatives, and potential complications, and meticulous mapping that accurately reflects the intended outcome before any tattooing begins. They should also feel comfortable asking questions, requesting changes, or stopping the procedure altogether without feeling pressured, rushed, or dismissed. In my experience, those fundamental safeguards were lacking, and the final result was extremely disappointing and not what I had agreed to or expected based on the consultation and reference photos. Nhi did a fantastic job on my brows! I haven't had them done in over 5 years and brow techniques have changed so much. I opted for nano combo in which Nhi corrected old powder ombré while adding hair strokes to achieve a fuller look, which I didn't think was possible. She took extra time and care to map my brow shape. My skin type is sensitive, oily in the t-zone, but normal everywhere else. When it came time to ink, I was really afraid of the pain bcs of past experiences. I'd rate the pain level 6/10. I was able to handle a few passes before needing her to numb me up. It was smooth sailing after. Fresh ink was dark, but it healed and retained color really well. I opted for a touch up and so glad I did. Will definitely be back for maintenance! read more

I have been doing eyebrow tattooing for many years. When I moved to Orange County 10 years ago, I went to two different artists. The first one was OK and overpriced for the work. I went to the 2nd one and she basically just did touchup over what I already had. I did not like how thin my eyebrows were and it didn't fit my face.
