I ordered the spicy beef. It was literally immersed, swimming, in grease. My guess is that they use, as do so many restaurants, cheap, unhealthful seed oil. So it's, for me, inedible. I liked the people, the place, the menu, the location, but honestly I paid $30 for leftovers that I can't eat. It's a shame. I've never before seen anything this greasy. The owner came out to my car after I exited and asked why I didn't like it. While I respect that, he explained that what appeared as grease was instead, sauce, and that it was flash fried. The problem is that neither the sauce nor grease had taste or spice. When I placed several pieces of beef on a napkin, they saturated the napkin with oil. Maybe it's an oily sauce? They were generous with the beef. The beef quality was pretty good, and the vegetables were unique enough to merit praise. If it were me, I would ramp up the taste quotient in either the marinade or sauce, eliminate 90% of the oil, as it's unnecessary, and add spice. This could be a healthy dish if they used avocado oil, way less oil, and reduced the salt. read more

Went here with a friend and was very impressed. Their location is tucked away into a small strip mall in the Park Meadows area. The location is small but very clean and quaint. Food: - mapu tofu... delicious with a meat sauce and a hint of spicy schezuan flavors - lamb with garlic... sweet and salty flavors, love the garlic pieces - sautéed shredded pork with sweet bean sauce... served with bao buns, absolutely delicious - beef fried dumplings (such incredible flavor, you don't even miss the sauce) They serve their soda in cans, perfectly chilled. I was intrigued, all the great reviews of an authentic Chinese restaurant near Lone Tree got my attention. Looking at the menu made me take it seriously. They have some of standard favorites everyone seems to love, but thats only the beginning. Lets start with their pastries. Most of the options let you choose your filling, beef, pork, veggies, and fish. Their dumplings are outstanding. I was warned they take a bit because their made fresh, easily worth the wait. Their steamed and fried buns stand out, no doubt they make them in house. Then you can start seeing more of what makes NBX unique. What's a Chinese Hamburger? Seems like a creative way to highlight their delicious dough and offer something you'd want to experience. The rest of the menu is an adventure of rarely seen options outside of a cities China Town. I won't bore you by listing everything, but have a look for yourself. I went with the Spicy Chicken. The picture looked like the chicken was central, combining crispiness and bold flavors without having to compete with to much breading or overpowering sauces. I loved it. First time visiting NBX Asian Cuisine after the menu was revamped, adding many Chinese American staples, but still had its famed spicy hot pot, as well as hand kneaded and handmade buns, dumplings and noodles. Ordered the Shandong ramen, shaobing and fried stuffed bun. The hand pulled noodle was thick, chewy and springy, one of the better tasting handmade noodle in town. The beef was tender and juicy while the broth was rich and savory. The freshly prepared shaobing was very chewy and tasted especially good after dipping into the beef noodle broth, which compensated and added complexity to its dryness and floury taste. Besides its signature crispy bottom and fluffy top, the filling of the fried stuffed bun was hearty, rich and savory with juice bursting out, similar to soup dumplings. Echo'ing many of the reviews for NBX, I was so happy with my visit for dinner here with the hubs. The food was delicious and authentic; rivaling a lot of the food I gorged upon when living in Beijing (and miss!). We had the veggie bao buns, spicy green beans (my favorite dish), orange juice chicken, and sesame chicken. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Servings were large and we went home with ample leftovers. Service was kind and attentive and I loved that they use reusable chopsticks. Was near Park Meadows so we tried NBX for lunch. We ordered beef noodles, spicy chicken and pan fried pork buns. Total was around $60ish after tip. There are like 4 booths, very small inside and looked like the Chef knew the patrons (regulars) behind us. The lady that took our order was nice but I had to say excuse me a couple times to get her attention for rice, the check and boxes to go. Food was a bit salty but came out hot and fresh. So amazing!! The photos made it look o good and this place did not disappoint! My husband and I shared the spicy chicken (10/10), sesame chicken and steamed rice with dumplings. I am sad we don't live in the area to come back! The owner/chef and staff were so sweet and provided the prefect suggestions for our taste. I wanted to have beef noodle soup for a late lunch and since I was already in Lone Tree, a quick search led me to NBX Asian Cuisine. Their beef noodle soup is delicious. The only departure from the actual authentic recipe is they use thin noodles which was a bit disappointing. However flavor, texture and temperature were all present. Service was quick as I was only one of three tables seated and the restaurant feels like it used to be an old sushi restaurant but I have no knowledge of the previous tenants. This tiny little gem is located inside a shopping center near the Park Meadows area and seems unassuming at first. We went with a party of 6 and were seated just side the front door in a large table. It fit our group perfectly. Upon closer inspection the restaurant also has additional tables past the register. The service was fantastic. We were created quickly and served water immediately. They had tea and sodas and our table got a few hot teas. Our friend ordered everything for us in Chinese and we ended up with a huge table full of delicious food. We started with a cold spicy beef dish. It was served with a large bowl of rice. Eat fish was shared among the group. Next we got the garlic green beans. That was one of my favorite dishes. Next was the beef with onions. That was my all time favorite. We also got a twice cooked pork dish, a sweet chicken dish, a tofu dish, dumplings and soup dumplings. Looking for Chinese restaurant on our way home from a memorial service. NBX popped up with little info other than 4.5 stars. Decided to try them. Very small place ... maybe 6 tables. Not a huge menu so selection was a bit limited. My wife selected the cucumber salad and Orange Sauce Chicken. I opted for Sesame Chicken. The cucumber salad arrived and it was HUGE! Obviously for 2 people but since I don't like cucumbers it was all hers! HMD (Happy Mother's Day'!!). It was a bit of a disappointment as it had an odd (for her taste) peanutty sauce. Of course she brought a big box of it home. The mains were HUGE as well. The Orange Sauce Chicken was very juicy but had less flavor than expected altho still good. My Sesame Chicken was good but again could have used more flavor. Service was quick and the chef actually came out to see how we liked the dinner! Need a convenient homemade Chinese meal? They have dishes like beef noodle soup, mapo tofu, lamb dishes and more. We got our usual go to dishes to judge. First up chicken fried rice. Chicken was crispy in a light flour batter. Like minute chicken. Lots of pieces in a plate full of seasoned rice, egg, and bean sprouts. Nothing else was in the fried rice. I'm used to some veggie or green onion. It looked bland, but was still tasty. Next up was the look funn beef noodle stir fry. Noodles were bouncy, absolutely delicious. Full of beef and onion. Best look funn noodles I've found in Denver. Both dishes were about $14-16 each. Decent for the food, cleanliness, and service. The chef, perhaps the owner also came to say hello energetically. This is a really cute authentic Chinese restaurant located five minutes away from Park Meadows. It's a small restaurant space so if you have a large party, definitely call ahead of time to reserve a table. We had about 13-15 people and they set the tables up front for us so we didn't need to break out into different tables. The owner/chef and staff are friendly and kind and they did their best to accommodate our large group. They do speak Mandarin so if you have relatives who aren't fluent in English, they can converse with them. You will see a lot of Chinese families dine here so you know it's legit. The food was delicious. Everything we ordered was super tasty and full of flavor. The eggplant dish was my favorite. It was easy to eat but so delicious. The green beans were also tasty. Dishes can be spicy so ask if you can't handle heat. They were out of the fried dumplings when we were here but the steamed dumplings were still good. The spicy chicken, pork belly, mapo tofu, and lamb dishes were great especially with rice. The fish looks spicy because it's a vibrant red colored dish but it wasn't too hot. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, the fish has been cut and deboned for you. Overall it's a wonderful experience and a fantastic addition to the Asian food scene in Colorado. read more

Came here again and they are simply the best. We were the only ones there for an early dinner with our toddler (430pm) and they put the tv on cartoons for him. How thoughtful!! When your workers and chef barely speak English... you will probably have truly authentic Chinese food... not Americanized pretend Chinese food. We liked the menu so much I ordered to-go to take home and try other dishes. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, I encourage u to try the stuff no one else has... like spicy beef heart tube. Seriously... it's good. The texture is like no other cut. It was the most interesting dish and very flavorful. Garlic green bean - fresh and crisp... heavy garlic (that's a good thing!), would be nice if there was some mix of crispier garlic along with the sautéed garlic and some char on the green beans. I also like a little more salt... the solution was a tablespoon of the house garlic chilli oil mixed with your green beans. You're welcome. Cumin lamb - not bad, I liked the cook of the onions and shallots. Lamb seasoned well, but slightly tough and a little too much cumin for my taste. Braised tofu - my kids' favorite. Flavorful sauce with silky soft tofu. Spicy beef tendon - another solid and authentic dish, super flavorful. Things I'd like to try... mutton & duck blood. Yep... I'm a believer in trying things no one else carries. The server and chef were very genuine and sweet. Came out to ask about the food and hand delivered cookies to my kids. Price - reasonable and affordable, portions are generous in these days. I ordered 5 dishes and my total was $100. The chef invited us back for Thursday night Chinese style barbecue! We have been back to NBX many times now and the food continues to be consistently delicious and the chef is so kind and friendly. We recently enjoyed the beef and tofu and dry fried green beans, the mapo tofu and cumin lamb are also in our regular rotation and our kids continue to devour the orange juice chicken. The last time we were there the chef treated us to a special tea oil soup which was delicious. The portions are generous and we always end up taking home leftovers for another meal or two at least, making it a great value. read more

I really wanted to love this place a bit more after reading all the killer reviews. Everything we had was good but nothing outstanding. The garlic string beans were the standout, hot and still crunchy with a delicate white garlic sauce. The pictures of the beef soup looked scrumptious but there was very little beef, vegetables or noodles in the dish. Our server recommended the crispy pork dish. It comes was an enormous amount of spicy red peppers and the pork slices are so small you really only taste the breading which was mostly salt and pepper. Once again I found the dish lacking in vegetables. Loved the steamed pork dumpling with 10 to an order for about 10.00. The filing was tasty with some flavored noodles inside the dumplings along with the meat. I will go back to try a few more dishes. read more

NBX = Nothing But Xcellence!!!! We chose NBX based on so many positive reviews, and our group of 5 adults and a toddler enjoyed every dish. First off, the bok choy was wonderful with a delicate sauce. And we all loved the Mapo Tofu (even me as a non-vegetarian who doesn't normally like tofu) with its delightful sweet/spicy sauce. The fried rice was super flavorful with large pieces of chicken (not tiny scraps), the Lamb with Garlic was excellent, and Shandong Fried Chicken was very nice (though it has bones which is the authentic way to serve it). The dumplings and steamed buns are excellent but be sure to order right away (as our waitress suggested) since they take more time to prepare than entrees. Everything was super fresh and portions are LARGE - we all left with another meal's worth of food. Service was excellent - our waitress explained various dishes and was proactive, especially attentive to our very young guest, and we were seated immediately when we entered. Easy parking too. NBX is quite a step up from syrupy, fried "americanized chinese" - we will definitely be back since there are so many more items we need to try! read more

Was at a nearby salon for a haircut when my hairdresser informed me of this new place to try, came here right after the hair appointment. Glad we showed up mid afternoon and the restaurant was not busy. The owner Owen is of Shandong origin and has worked at many Sichuan restaurants in his career. He's came up with some creative dishes that was worth the taste! We ordered a bunch of different dishes to try - the small spicy hot pot, great taste and you can add as much variation in there as you'd like... Chinese Hamburger is pork based and it was super well seasoned. Tasted really great! We also tried Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup - normally I'm not a lamb/goat person but this soup was delicious and is tolerable for someone who doesn't eat lamb/gamey food. Also the same goes for Braised Mutton Leg, great flavor, the Chinese herbs really soaked into the leg and also does not taste super gamey at all. My favorite dish is the Mapo Eggplant, never had this anywhere else and this is an Owen original. I will be back for this dish for sure, it was super delicious and unlike any eggplant dish I've had anywhere else. He battered and fried the eggplant first before cooking in the sauce. The wonton soup was delicious as well but in Chinese they had it listed as red oil wonton... which usually is not in a soup form in my experience, so wanted to call that out that this is basically a spicy wonton soup.
