I've been a swimmer my whole life, and love a good stretchy yoga class, but realized that I was kidding myself when I believed I was doing well enough in my work out habits. Two days after getting engaged, I decided this was my perfect kick in the pants to finally try private pilates sessions (#bridalbootcamp). After perusing through websites of local Pilates instructors, Nona seemed great. And y'all, SHE IS. She is such a warm, compassionate person who genuinely loves what she does. But don't let that fool you - she is the toughest personal trainer I've ever had. For being so tiny and cute, she is terrifyingly creative with the equipment and makes any swim workout I did back in the day seem like elderly aerobics. However, don't let that intensity deter you - as someone who hates group classes ("Seriously? It's only been three minutes?"), gets bored with anything but swimming, and can come up with an impressively diverse list of excuses to miss a workout, I love love LOVE my weekly sessions with Nona (I even convinced my mom to do duet sessions with me so that I could afford going twice a week). That said, even though at one point the price seemed steep, I now consider it worth every penny - it is an hour of one-on-one, incredibly personalized training. The hour flies by, I'm grinning ear to ear by the end, and I always struggle to walk down her stairs after. While swimming has been my cardio of choice, Pilates by Nona is now my nonnegotiable strength training. In the nine sessions I've seen her, I can already feel SUCH a difference in my body. I actually see noticeable tone, which motivates me to keep going back. There are many things I genuinely appreciate about Life Time, particularly the instructors, who have consistently been one of the strongest parts of the club. Unfortunately, my experience with Kids Academy has become increasingly disappointing, and an interaction today brought several longstanding concerns to a head. First, policies need to be communicated and enforced consistently. When something is permitted one day and prohibited the next--or seems to depend on which employee is working--it becomes very difficult for members to understand what is actually expected of them. I am completely willing to follow the rules. I simply expect those rules to be clear, consistent, and communicated respectfully. More concerning was the manner in which my children and I were spoken to today. My children are also members of this club, and regardless of a disagreement or policy issue, I expect employees working with children to communicate with them respectfully. I was extremely disappointed by the tone and demeanor used toward them. This experience is especially troubling because I have already had concerns about what I have personally observed in Kids Academy over time. I have repeatedly seen very young children crying or visibly distressed for extended periods, ignored and wandering desperately seeking caregiver attention, and interactions that, in my opinion, lack the warmth, patience, and attentiveness I would expect from a childcare environment, the lack of genuine care for the children is appalling. This is not up to standard- particularly those associated with what should be a premium family membership. I recognize that this is gym childcare and not a preschool, and my expectations reflect that distinction. However, basic attentiveness, kindness, appropriate supervision, and respectful communication with children should not be considered premium amenities. They should be the minimum standard. There are certainly kind employees in Kids Academy, including some of the younger staff members who have been wonderful with my children. My concern is not intended as a blanket criticism of every person working there. It is that the overall quality and consistency of the childcare experience does not seem aligned with the standard Life Time promotes elsewhere in the club. My children are older and are able to communicate clearly with me about their experiences and advocate for themselves. Based solely on what I have personally observed, I would NOT leave a very young child who cannot yet communicate independently. I don't expect perfection, and one unpleasant interaction would not ordinarily cause me to reconsider a membership I have and one I would like to maintain. But when inconsistent policies, poor customer service, and concerns about the environment in which members' children are being cared for begin to form a pattern, it deserves attention. Life Time charges a premium price and presents itself as a premium club. I believe it is reasonable for members to expect the quality, professionalism, and customer service in Kids Academy to reflect that same standard. After today's experience, I am genuinely questioning whether the value of our membership continues to justify the cost.

This place is about 20 minutes from my house, but definitely worth the drive for the variety of instructors and classes. My first class was 'power and rhythm' + 'core'. Lasted 1 hour : 45 minutes of power cycling and 15 minutes of abs on a mat. The class was challenging without making me want to quite, and i hadn't been to a class in a few months. I did this one a few times and really loved it. I went to another class called 'sculpt' and didn't really know what's i was in for - showed up and realized it wasn't cycling at all but rather a quick weights and ab session. We grabbed a heavy set, light set of weights and a mat. It was pretty easy in itself but you can push yourself to the weights you choose - and the next day or so I had some weird muscles that felt sore and felt like it actually was quite good! 'Power' bloc class was also one i tried. This one was rough - hard hard hard but it's only 30 minutes!! I thought by minute 24 i was going to die, but felt absolutely wonderful walking out the door. The classes weren't exactly full and I can't believe more people haven't found this little spot. Once coronavirus quarantine is over this is definitely a place I'll come back to!! There's always a bike (without signing up in advance) and the check in is super easy. Also - its a plus it's pretty dang cute inside with great ceiling fans to keep you cool.

Multiple pieces of equipment were faulty, and the saunas frequently weren't even reaching the temperatures they advertise. Rather than taking responsibility or addressing legitimate concerns, management chose to become hostile and dismissive. The situation became so bad that I ultimately had to contact the police and my bank just to get my membership canceled. Even after all of that, I'm still disputing charges because they continued billing me. Melissa, Carmen, and the little man owner / Maintence man whose name starts with "D" were, in my experience, incredibly unprofessional. No customer should ever be yelled at, cursed at, or forced to involve law enforcement and their bank over a gym membership. Seriously, what the heck? There are plenty of fitness studios in the area that value their members and know how to treat people with basic respect. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Be Careful: Billing and Contract Issues…read more I have been a strong supporter of OrangeTheory, but after my recent conversation with Anthony, Regional Manager, with the Round Rock location, my wife and I have decided not to renew our memberships. I initially signed up under a promotion described as "pay for one month and get two months free." However, I later discovered that I had been enrolled in a 12-month contract. When I requested cancellation, I was informed that the previous manager, Jay, did some shady stuff and had offered deals that he was not authorized to sell. Upon learning this, I immediately submitted written notice to cancel -- more than 30 days before the end of the three-month period. Despite this, I was charged for an additional month. I was also billed on March 1, even though the studio manager, Britany, had confirmed in writing that billing would not occur until March 15. In fact, based on the timeline, the next legitimate billing date should have been April 1. However, since I canceled my membership more than 30 days in advance, I should not have been billed at all. Additionally, I was told by the regional manager that if I hold a membership at the Round Rock studio, I cannot attend the Pflugerville studio. This was surprising and unclear, as I was clearly communicated at the time of signup that I can do so. In fact, their app does allow me schedule sessions in Pflugerville. Can someone confirm, if the regional manager is saying the truth? Overall, this experience reflects poor communication and inconsistent billing practices. As a business owner and someone who has worked with Fortune 100 companies, I believe this situation could have been handled far more transparently and professionally. I would encourage prospective members to carefully review all terms before signing up, and not trust them on the face value.
