BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES. While the food here was generally good, the hidden fees left a bad taste in me and my friend's mouths. To eat I had the fish and chips with the Pacific Halibut per our server's recommendation and it was pretty solid. The fish was fried well and the fish was juicy and fishy in a good way. The portion size looked small initially, but this was actually a filling dish. My friend got the fish tacos with swordfish also per our server's recommendation and it was also pretty solid for her. However, when we got the bill we were surprised with all the hidden fees. I asked for regular water, but was charged $1.25 for it. For my friend's taco, she was charged an extra $2.00 for the "blackened" fish which she did not order. Lastly, we were charged a 3% credit surcharge for using a credit card. I wish our server was upfront about these fees, it just felt like a greedy money grab of tourists. I would not come back honestly. Just bring your own food to the island.

Extremely fresh and tasty bites! Love the story and passion that this place provides for the town of Avalon. Great food, had a wonderful dinner.

Love places like NDMK fish house. Great fish, great food in general, great staff and great location. Not boujee enough to out price people visiting the island. And well worth it. I wish I could've ordered more

Had such a great time here at dinner! The fish was sooo fresh which was the most important but the staff was so friendly as well

My friend and I strolled into NDMK at around 7:30/8 on a Thursday and could not be more delighted with our experience! There are only a few tables and one server but she crushed it for being so busy. We ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque to start and it was absurdly good. Salty, buttery, and rich. My favorite one I've had so far. We also ordered two different sushi rolls that were fantastic. Super fresh and some unique flavor profiles. This is a quaint spot hidden on a side street of Catalina that is local and family owned. They catch most of their seafood daily! If you go anywhere on Catalina Island, let it be this spot.

Two cousins wake up at 4am to go fishing to deliver the freshest sea food. Loved this little restaurant in Catalina island. The staff were so friendly and it was nice to have a sit down meal. They have traditional sea food dishes or Asian fusion meals. My fav was the fish and chips as since they caught the halibut that morning. I highly recommend!

Stopped by here to try swordfish. Swordfish taco was an interesting experience. It taste like fish but it had texture to it. I'm not a fan of fish like cod where it falls apart. The shrimp was delicious. My biggest problem is that they charge you $1 for water. And it's a water bottle. I get it you're trying to keep a business but at the price we're paying for food. A water bottle should come with it.

We stopped here while on catalina island. I ordered the fish tacos and a salad. My favorite was the mahi- mahi. Service was ok. They were pretty busy. So we had to wait for seating. It wasn't to long before a booth became available. We also ordered the shrimp as an appetizer. It was all delicious and plentiful. I would recommend the tacos. If back on the island. I would stop here. The two tacos was very filling.

Went on my first cruise and they dumped us here for half a day lol. Wandered around Catalina Island and decided give to this fish house a try! It's pretty small inside. Got the fish & chips, Rattlesnake roll & watermelon passionfruit drink. The sushi was surprisingly good, fresh ingredients topped with sweet eel sauce. It was pricey for a canned drink tho... $10! I thought it was going to be a hand made drink. Anyway, would def return to try some more dishes!

Service 5/5 -friendly staff and food came out quick Food 3/5 -1/2 dozen oysters $18, tasted fresh and ponzu complimented it well -Rattlesnake roll $18, tasted the best out of the three, but nothing to write home about -Offshore roll $17, pickled red onion was interesting but get tiring after a couple pieces -Rainbow roll $16, least favorite of the three, the imitation crab mixture tasted drier and less flavorful than most that I have tried and made the roll taste dull -Salmon poke bowl $23, decent portion size but don't expect authentic poke, salmon is just diced and sauced at the time of order, refreshing overall -quality is not amazing but I think this is the only or one of few restaurants on the island that actually has sushi Ambiance 4/5 -Space is open and comfortable with plenty of bar seating around the perimeter that's great for people watching, there were a couple flies that lingering throughout the whole meal

Food: Our group ordered a few things, but I can only speak to the Fish & Chips. My friend and I each did an order: one with pacific halibut and another with white sea bass, which were pretty decent. My ONLY nitpick is for the fish to have been a bit more moist. Also, the fries were a shining co-star! It was a table favorite. Service: No complaints! We were seated promptly and our food came out at a reasonable time. Ambiance: Casual, nautical.

Found this spot after researching some recommended eats in catalina. We ordered the fried fish tacos and poke bowl. We chose halibut as our fish and it was really good. I also really enjoyed their fries. The poke bowl had great flavor & was so fresh. We came at a good time; it wasn't too busy so we were able to be seated right away. The staff were friendly. The next time I'm in catalina, I'll come back and try their other dishes

Worth the Stop in Avalon? Let's Talk About It. Q: When did you go and what was the wait like? A: Monday, fresh off a cruise around noon. About a 10-minute wait-completely reasonable. Q: First impression? A: I've been to Catalina Island more times than I can count, and somehow this spot never crossed my path until now. That alone surprised me. Q: What did you order? A: Fish and chips-and listen... it was slapping. The mahi mahi was full-bodied, flaky, and moist. The batter? Perfectly seasoned, which is rare without heavy breading. The fries were seasoned and jammin'. If you're a fry person, this combo delivers. (All local fish not available so don't get your palette to water. I preferred bass but I ate the mahi). Q: Why not something else like sushi? A: I considered it-but sushi is easy to find. Fish and chips made with mahi mahi instead of cod? That's a different conversation. I was here for it. Q: How was the service? A: One main waiter with support-but honestly, he was doing everything: host, server, cashier, manager. Easy on the eyes and efficient. Didn't miss a beat. Q: What about other food you saw? A: I was watching plates come out-everything looked worth trying. That's always a good sign. Q: Anything unexpected stand out? A: The fountain coke. No joke. I only drink fountain coke, and this was one of the best I've had. Q: What's the vibe and seating like? A: Small eatery. One table fits about 8, others are 2-4 tops plus a counter. Intimate, not cramped. Q: Accessibility and parking? A: Parking will be a challenge (typical Avalon). Wheelchairs can get in, but motorized chairs may struggle. The hallway to the restroom is tight, something to consider. Q: Price point-a little surprised? A: You might think it's a little pricey in the moment, but afterward? I didn't think about it at all. I'm general eating out is making me stay at home. Thank goodness I can cook. Q: Final take? A: Support this local spot. Solid food, efficient service, and a menu worth exploring. I'll be back. Hot tip: Cash is still king 3.5% charge for card -----"Local businesses are the lifeblood of any community."

Can you make reservations or first come first serve basis?

Pretty sure it's first come, first serve.. Well worth the wait, tho!! They are great!

    Do they accommodate vegetarians?

NDMK Fish House has a Poke Bowl that you can have made with tofu, instead of fish. They have a seaweed salad as well as green salad and I think all of the side dishes are vegetarian, like rice, fries & sautéed vegetables.…

    How much for lobster?

It's always the same whether you order local Catalina or Maine lobster it MP ( market price).

It was on the bland side. We had to request a fresh batch of fries because they were stale, cold, and flavorless. - Linguine with Littleneck Clams 2/5: This dish was terrible. Overcooked noodles. I will say they did include a good number of clams but the entire dish lacked flavor. They could have used a quality butter for the noodles. I added two slices of lemon and that helped a bit but overall I would not recommend this dish. There are other items on the menu that I'd like to try and with Avalon having such limited restaurants, I would give this place another try for maybe the ceviche and taco dishes.

During the call I greatly appreciated the fact that the date was clarified more than one time due to the no refund policy, I verified through my app and we secured the date. It was also brought to my attention that the beach was quite rocky and that water shoes were a must, we had just purchased water sneakers and opted for one pair of shoes. I did warn our group, some chose not to listen and it definitely was a miserable time for them. Unfortunately I do not recall the woman's name that secured the booking but definitely LOVED AND APPRECIATED her valuable insight and making sure the date was correct. Walk from the port, was beautiful we used Apple Map to avoid hills. Our party consists of several individuals with disabilities and we had to move slow. As huge "boats and hoes" fans we were absolutely delighted to see the big blue sign that said Catalina Wine Mixer. That really was a cool greeting. As you entered under it, it was lined with stunning palm trees on the left and the gorgeous ocean on the right. We could see all the cabanas and knew we were headed in the right direction. The views just kept getting prettier and prettier. We saw lots of people bustling around in yellow shirts, and seen different buildings. I walked up to one and asked where we checked in at. I was guided to a yellow hut over there. Checked in with ease and walked across the super thick sand to our Presidential cabana. It was very comfortable and cozy looking and the view was absolutely breathtaking taking. During my booking I asked for best view. We secured the cabana in the front on the corner. WOW!!! We noticed Evian bottled water on ice in a bucket. Towels were brought, one for each person. We had enough seating including two loungers. We were brought our two "smoothies". Which were never tasted, We only showed up with two people to start because our port day happened to require reservations to get off, which is no fault of the beach club, the rest of our party couldn't get off until noon. They arrived about 1 pm. When they arrived, we had to wait for a long time for Julian to circle back. We ordered 14 Coronas to start, everyone was ready for some drinks and some water due to the heat before eating. We walked down to the beach and hit the water. BOY WERE WE EVER SO GRATEFUL FOR OUR WATER SHOES!! The water was super refreshing, but due to the waves it was unsafe for myself, I only have use of one arm, and the waves were pretty big, coupled with the drop off under the water I was not able to get in, I knew I wouldn't have been able to get out. Again NO FAULT OF THE CLUB. The rest of our party was definitely able to enjoy it! Julian circled back with our bucket of beers and we ordered two drinks for my daughter in law, I don't recall what they were, but she loved them and sucked them down, stating they were very tasty with a good pour! We did wait for a long time to be brought our drinks and for the circling back. Our first conversation with Julian was that it was too far of a walk for several of party to get back and how do we get a taxi or a ride, our service wasn't working and we were told about the WiFi, but that was hit and miss. Our carrier is AT&T and we found it difficult to get out. We were offered to have a taxi called or he told us he could call his girlfriend. NO PROBLEM, we were never told about the free shuttle back to town. We were up in the circle area waiting for our ride when the free shuttle pulled up and we hopped in because we waited for half an hour. During our walk up to the area to be picked up we noticed an area with showers, which we used to clean the sand out of our shoes and to wash the salt water off. The restrooms were clean. There was also an area to rent tubes, shop, purchase gifts.. it was very nice! At 3 pm we asked for the platter that came with our booking, which I felt like should have been brought and not asked for before we leave. Would we return? Most likely yes, just hoping for speedier service without having to ask for what comes with the booking and definitely making use of the free shuttle or actually being able to get ahold of a taxi to get to and from. The rest of our party noticed the free shuttle sign and waited for approximately half hour and it never came so they walked it. View/Scenery | Gorgeous views, whether you sit outside on the patio, outside over the water or inside! I've dined over the water several times with friends & solo! I've also enjoyed dining on the outside patio! I love it all! The views are just gorgeous of the boats, the island... beautiful! Taste Around Avalon | I was excited once I saw Pier 24 listed on the menu! The tacos and drink were once again delicious! They set up was really pretty as well, including lively music! Customer Service | Top of the line, super friendly, and I've seen several of the servers around the island! Hi, Cienna, Lana, Marcus & Valeria! They're all so nice! The manager is incredibly nice as well & it's always fun chatting with him as well! Overall | Yes, Please! I highly recommend Pier 24, it's one of my favorites! Simply thinking of the fish tacos and beet salad makes me want a bite! Let's go!
