I was in the neighborhood and was craving Mexican food. Walked in and the place had the AC going and I ordered and it took 10 minutes. Got home and had enough food for two people. And will go again:

Nealtican has the best, most authentic Mexican food around! I've been here multiple times and ordered quite a few items (tacos, quesadillas, guacamole, tostadas) all of which were top notch. Tortillas and chips are clearly made in house. Each taco comes with a particular topping, like al pastor tacos come with thin slices of pineapple on each one. The lenguas comes with the perfect slice of avocado on each, it's like they have a stock pile of perfect avocados always on hand! Also good to mention you get 4 tacos per order!!! I have yet to try their smoothies and other specialty items. This place is a real treat and I highly recommend going here for anyone who's just had enough with qdoba, chipotle, and taco bell..try something fantastic!

Tonight was the first time my wife and I ordered from here. We wanted authentic Mexican food, and we got just that. We ordered the Mexican style steak (w/o jalapeños), chicken flautas, tacos al pastor, and chicken quesadillas for the kids. The seasoning was great, and the green sauce is just... yum! You know when you find a place that you are excited to order from again? That's the kind of experience we had tonight.

Outstanding food. Ordered tamales with green sauce. Loved it. Will be my regular spot authentic Mexican food. It's like home cooked food grandma makes if she was Mexican but don't take my word go in and try. They do takeout and all. And there guacamole wow. It's outstanding. Came with wife and fam and her shrimp dish was big. Big shrimp, big portions definitely leaving stuffed when eating there. But not feeling greased up like other restaurants. I can't praise enough. I had urge for authentic Mexican tamales and that's what I got and then some. Homemade chips for salsa and dips as well. If your itching for mexican food this is the spot to hit up.

When I first walked in I thought I was at some defunct record store. Literally there was NO sign of food or cooking going on! NONE. But I did spy a box of Spanish music CDs on the counter. So freakin strange! Anyway I asked for the menu, ordered an order of tacos ($8) which come with 4 to an order and you can have 2 different types. I got carnitas and al pastor. About 20 minutes later the tacos came out. Yeah it took forever! I know that the meat, salsas, and toppings on tacos are usually precooked and presliced so I'm sort of unsure why, for 20 minutes, I sat there while listening to music that I didn't understand, watching a soap opera that I didn't understand, and hearing people speak things that I didn't understand. At this point in the game on my life's tour of tacos however, I've come to expect that I'll be the only English speaking person in the places I go to. I still find it amusing though and clearly for some reason I find the need to comment on it. So back to the food. The al pastor were decent. Actually they were better to look at then to eat. Then pineapple on top was tasty but the meat could have been more flavorful. It seems like the meat didn't have enough time to absorb the spices when it cooked. Now the carnitas.....don't get these. They were totally flavorless and there was a TON of flaccid pork skin inside. FYI check out my pictures of el paisa in san diego for a serious carnitas taco. Now look, for NJ I would give the food 3 stars, but considering the deliciousness my taste buds have experienced prior as well as the interesting-to-say-the-least atmosphere, I had to give 2 stars overall.

Don't know why it took me so long to come here and grab a bite to eat. I drive by here 4 days a week on my way home and say to myself one day I'll stop by, and yesterday I finally did. I felt like I was one of those Mexican Resturants you see in novelas. Why you may ask, because of the decor inside. The girls that worked the front area very polite and courteous, the food takes a while so either come inside one day and grab a menu to order ahead of time if you plan to take out. Or just wait for the food to be made. I don't complain about the wait time for food, because I know it's made fresh when ordered and not just sitting around. I will def be coming back when I'm in the mood for tacos, because waiting to go to Taqueria I'll be waiting for a LONG TIME.

    Love this place!

You get your choice of a few different sauces, but I personally believe the green sauce to be the best.

We waited over 30 minutes after ordering for our food. I ordered tacos al pastor, which I thought were delicious, but as you can kind of see on the red tray where the food came on, it was very greasy. Lime also didn't have any juice, and small avocado pieces that came with the nachos we also ordered were not ripe at all. They were hard and chewy :(. I also very, very much love green salsa, but by the time I was finishing up pouring it all over my last taco, I found hair. I understand these things happen + the avocado/lime may not necessarily be the restaurant's fault as maybe it isn't the right season for them, and I truly wanted to get over it, but I'd truly prefer no hair at all in my food. Not the best experience. I did end up finishing my tacos because I was starving, but my partner left more than half the nachos he ordered. I do wish the restaurant the best as the ambiance was nice and I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but definitely could use some work as it's little things that can make a difference. :( Thank you anyways!!!

For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own. Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or "The Little House Taqueria," we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading "Tacos Open" and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor. Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand. We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn't help but notice the trompo--the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to "in the style of the shepherd." Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s. The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn't get enough. The portion was a healthy size. The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable--we can recommend this place.
